Almost every week, Republicans join a competition to see who can say the most outlandish things, and in the process, they push the envelope on just how awful InsaniTEA can become.  I trust that you will believe it, when I tell you that last week was no exception.

Stuart Varney is so happy about that plane crash.

For Stuart Varney, the more plane crashes the better. Plane crashes are good for Donald Trump. They get people scared, and they also kill people, and that is just great.

Fox and Friends invited Fox Business' Stuart Varney [Faux Business Noise delinked] on to discuss the crash of EgyptAir Flight 804 and how it would affect the stock market, which is already cold-blooded enough. But Varney made his craven indifference to human life even more apparent by casting the tragedy in terms of what it does for Donald Trump’s potential presidency.

“I also think this may be good politically for Donald Trump,” Varney said, first commending the presumed GOP nominee for irresponsibly declaring the crash the work of terrorists before anything at all was known about it.

“He’s already tweeted out saying this is probably terrorism. I believe that's the nature of his tweet. He’s the guy who is saying, hands off, keep Muslims out temporarily whilst we figure out who comes in. An incident of this type is surely a plus for Donald Trump.”

Does he hear the words as they issue from his mouth?

If it actually was terrorism, Rump Dump Trump made a lucky call, aside from how dangerous such purely speculative guesses are. Varney's Trump Rump licking is only the fourth of six awful Republican moments listed for last week alone. Click through for the other five.

  1. 1.  Of course, whatever she said, she vetoed it because she knew that signing it would make her a national laughingstock (and target).  She may be batshit crazy, but she's not a political idiot.

    2.  My, my.  And he said he would let the Heritage Foundation pick for him.  Is that where he got this list?  It might just as well be.

    3.  Oh, please.  Please, God.  Just make her go away!

    4.  Don't worry, if it's terrorism someone will claim it soon enough.  To terrorize, it must be known to be terrorism, which is impossible to determine from the wreckage, at least so far.  If it also cannot be determined that it's terrorism from the black box (which BTW is orange, did you know?), and it isn't claimed, it isn't terrorism.  It could in fact be claimed even if it wasn't terrorism – since the goal of terrorism is to terrorize – and that would be a cheap coup.

    5.  Aaw, Chris, don't feel bad.  There are plenty of sugary, fatty treats that are not made in Mexico.  You won't have to worry about keeping up your strength.  Although maybe a coma would be better if you are having trouble bearing being seen with The Donald.

    6.  And this illustrates why it is terribly short sighted to make a statue of a living person.  You spend money putting it up, then you spend more money tearing it down, when the person later demonstrates feet of clay.  Based on other right-wing evangelical track records, that might not even be too long.

  2. 1. I see my northern neighbors are busy at work doing nothing, with the governor leading the way! Like TX.!

    3. God made her do it, dontchaknow?

    4. So sad this happened. We'll know soon enough.

    5. Christie has lost all credibility. He's such an A- – Kisser, for Drumpf. ick!

    6. Oh, Good Lord !!!

    Thanks, Tom for post.

  3. I see that the governor from OK made the #1 place on the list! She only vetoed the bill so she could send it back to to be "tweaked". Just you wait and see. There will be ANOTHER bill as soon as they can rewrite it to suit the governor, while the schools are cutting 100's of teachers, cutting summer school, and setting education back to the stone age here in OK! The legislature is more worried about the abortion law that won't pass muster with SCOTUS!!!

Sorry. I get so worked up about the state of education in our state, I get carried away!

Tin foil hat looks good on him!

Take care, TC! Hope your helpers are staying in step with you and George!

  4. Simply nothing but bozos, "all the way down."

  5. 1)  "would not withstand a criminal constitutional legal challenge.” — When has a Republican ever worried about the constitution?  And then these Okie Republicans go after impeachment of Obama?  Let's hope they do that with the same lack of attention to detail and truth.  Jeesh!!!

    2)  No doubt . . . pure bribery!  I wonder if the Republicans have figured out that they are being bought.

    3)  "They wanted to shove that paper down my throat and make me eat it for my dinner!" she exclaimed. — Too bad they didn't succeed!  Kim Davis should be silent and just do her job properly.

    4)  According to Varney, don't let facts get in the way of a conspiracy.  Love his foil hat!

    5)  Bully to bully, mano a mano!  Christie and Drumpf deserve each other!

    6)  Tebow — like Rubio, a flash in the pan.

  6. Varney: “He’s already tweeted out saying this is probably terrorism”

For the record, Donald Trump actually guaranteed it:

“A plane got blown out of the sky, and if anybody thinks it wasn’t blown out of the sky, you’re 100 percent wrong, folks.”

  7. Varney is about as crazy as Palin, no one with an ounce of humanity would consider a plane crash as good luck for any reason.  How do these people keep getting into office?  By people not caring enough to vote, of course.

I am glad the Oklahoma governor vetoed the bill, but she knew it was not going to fly, and really had little choice.  Pro lifers will probably be very angry with her.

Trump knows how to work a crowd of conservatives, naming all their friends and relatives as possible nominees to the Supreme Court.  gives me the shivers.

Kim Davis is an embarrassment to Kentucky and I wish she would just go away, and take Rand Paul with her.

I don't feel sorry for Christie, but this reveals more of how crass Trump is.

Rubio just does not get it, but he keeps trying.

  8. Oklahoma: I feel truly sorry for the handful of sane people that have to remain living there. Their governor had a brief moment of sanity and realized that this anti-abortion bill never would withstand  a criminal constitutional legal challenge. Unfortunately the flash didn't last long enough for her to realize that it isn't constitutional because it is unclear in its definition of what constitutes saving a woman's life, but because you can't criminalize doctors for performing a federally legal medical procedure, I would think. Of course Fallin only want's to make sure that few women as possible would be able to obtain an abortion, and this bill doesn't guarantee that; she's not in the least concerned with it saving mother's lives or staying within the constitution.

Drumf: He has done nothing but pander and bribe his way to the nomination, the candidates on his short-list for SCOTUS is just one example on a very long list and it'll get only longer as the convention comes in sight. His outrageous pandering is shocking, as is the equally outrageous venality of Republican senators, but Drumpf really has become the epitome of gruesome American politics, as for many Americans his bribing and flip-flopping seems to have become acceptable and even the norm.

Kim Davies: Is anyone listening to her? She shouldn't even be mentioned here, she's a waste of space.

Stuart Varney: I bet he thought it was a shame that it wasn't an American plane, the biggest one you've got, that went missing before it was about to land on the East Coast coming from Paris. That would have been so much better for Drumpf: more dead, Americans dead, blame it on terrorists, blame it on France, keep the fear mongering going for days on end. And who cares that no one has claimed this act of terrorism yet. By the time they really find out what happened to that Egyptian plane, they've all moved on to something else to get people riled up about and they'll all remember it as a terrorist attack. Because Drumpf twittered it and Stuart Varney confirmed it.

Christie: If you want Drumpf to bring in cash for you at your fundraiser (for his gubernatorial re-election, I guess), you know what you're getting yourself into and you take it like a bullied fat man and laugh at your own expense, Pignocchio. How does it feel to be on the receiving end, Chris?

    Marco Rubio: Huh?
