It’s not hot hard to understand.  Thousands of years ago, a Hebrew prophet explained what happens when people court evil,  “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.” (Hos. 8:7a KJV)  For years Republicans have courted and embraced racists, misanthropes, bigots, misogynists, homophobes, xenophobes, nativists, and every other flavor of hate monger.  That was sowing the wind.  To put reaping the whirlwind in secular terms, the haters have taken over and come back to bite the establishment party the ass.  Seth Meyers approaches it with humor.

Seth Meyers, in an attempt to make sense of the fact that Trump is the GOP presidential nominee, took a closer look at the events leading to where we are now to get a sense of how we ended up here.

Through hilarious clips from the campaign trail, Meyers reviewed Cruz’s various recent flubs, from getting heckled by a 12-year-old (who summed up his disdain in two words: “You suck!”) to being oblivious when running mate Carly Fiorina “fell flat, literally,” to a failed streetside heart-to-heart with sign-holding Trump supporters (let’s just say it really didn’t go well).

Then of course there were Trump’s contributions, including his wacky insistence that Rafael Cruz—Ted’s dad—was in on the Kennedy assassination…

Barf Nag Alert!!

Rachel Maddow stirred the pot with a more serious approach.

Indeed this has never happened before.  A mentally unstable fascist monster, who we all considered a joke, based on our past experience, will be the Republican nominee.  God help us!

One thing we can do to help ourselves is to tie every Republican candidate for any office from Dog Catcher up to Rump Dump Trump!

  1. "Debating Trump supporters is like trying to untangle headphones in a tornado."  ROTFLMAOACGU !!

"Pathological liar" – Of course, we all know what that means.  We've all probably met one (I find them incredibly entertaining myself). But on another level, I kind of think for something to be a LIE as opposed to a falsehood, the person telling it has to KNOW it is false.  And I don't think the pathological liar does know.  I think he (she) believes what he (she) is saying.  But I also think that makes him (her) even MORE dangerous.

And it's no bleeping wonder Rachel can't talk.  It is a bleeping wonder ANYONe can talk about this without tripping over one's tongue.  Back to my theory about brain damage from air and water pollution.  And, you know, that's not fixable.  Not in people already poisoned.  It may be possible to fix pollution for the future, although – with so many people already poisoned voting, it's not all that likely.

  2. From Wiki:

"Defining characteristics of pathological lying include:

The stories told are usually dazzling or fantastical, but never breach the limits of plausibility, which is key to the pathological liar's tactic. The tales are not a manifestation of delusion or some broader type of psychosis; upon confrontation, the teller can admit them to be untrue, even if unwillingly.
The fabricative tendency is chronic; it is not provoked by the immediate situation or social pressure so much as it is an innate trait of the personality. There is some element of dyscontrol present.
A definitely internal, not an external, motive for the behavior can be discerned clinically: e.g., long-lasting extortion or habitual spousal battery might cause a person to lie repeatedly, without the lying being a pathological symptom.[2]
The stories told tend toward presenting the liar favorably. The liar "decorates their own person"[3] by telling stories that present them as the hero or the victim. For example, the person might be presented as being fantastically brave, as knowing or being related to many famous people, or as having great power, position, or wealth.

Pathological lying may also present as false memory syndrome, where the sufferer genuinely believes that fictitious (imagined) events have taken place. The sufferer may believe that he or she has accomplished superhuman feats or awe-inspiring acts of altruism and love — or has committed equally grandiose acts of diabolical evil, for which the sufferer must atone or already has atoned in her/his fantasies."

    • Hey, Judi! You just described Rump Dump Trump to a T!!! EVERY one of those things described Drumpf's stories that he tells on the campaign trail! i.e. "You will win so much, you will be tired of winning!". That one right THERE is a fine example of his propensity of being a pathological liar!!!

  3. This is so SCARY!!! Never thought that he would make it this far!

  4. Can the DNC use that wonderful photo in its campaign?  And all the wonderful things his fellow fools have said about him?

I've not seen, though heard of, Seth Meyers, previously, but he nails the GOPigs, and their history, perfectly!!  Oh, to bring the 2 threads together (their history and Judi's wonderful Wikipedia definitin abot pathological lying), their God-like St.Reagan, as I have pointed out repeatedly, is famous/infamous for his great quote about "Facts are just annoyances!"

  5. Romney and both former presidents Bush have separated themselves from this debacle, so has Linsey Graham.  The GOP is scared of what it has created, now they are stuck with it.  Unfortunately, so are we.  He has appealed to the baser instincts of so many who feel disenfranchised that I am afraid he will actually win the White House.

  6. I think Nameless hit the nail on the head yesterday with this comment:

"I'm partial to Stephen King's Tweet describing the pickle the Rethuglicans have created for themselves.

Conservatives who for 8 years sowed the dragon's teeth of partisan politics are horrified to discover they have grown an actual dragon."

One reaps what they sow!  I think the Republicans are self immolating.

  7. Thanks all.  In a Rush!

  8. Sorry, I got nothing but a damn Kraft commercial for Rachel's video, but thank you for Seth Meyers' take on what happend over the past few days. Funny but true. At this moment in time, having read and heard so much about Drumpf, I must admit I prefer a humorous take on it above the terribly well researched but deadly seriousness of Rachel. I have to water things down a bit before I can metaphorically swallow any more of Drumpf's BS.
