I’m waiting for Lu to arrive for my shower.  Because she is having another meltdown in her personal life, I have a hunch I’m going to be taking another whore’s bath in the sink.  It’s also a grocery delivery day, so I’m quite busy.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:53 (average 5:04).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: Moments after successfully unlocking the San Bernardino iPhone, the F.B.I. rendered the phone permanently useless by spilling a glass of water on it, an F.B.I. spokesman confirmed on Tuesday.

Calling the accident “one of the biggest embarrassments in F.B.I. history,” bureau spokesman Harland Dorrinson told reporters, “There’s no way to express how bad we feel about what happened to that phone.”

Walking reporters through the mishap, Dorrinson said that shortly after the iPhone was unlocked, “There were a lot of high-fives, which led to the unfortunate spilling of the water.”

After repeatedly attempting to reboot the phone with no success, the F.B.I. consulted several Apple support forums for tips on fixing a waterlogged iPhone. “I wish I could report that any of them worked,” the spokesman said.

I wish, Andy! He does, however, describe Apple support pretty well!

From Daily Kos: I caught some of Chris Hayes’ “All In” tonight on MSNBC. One of his guests was Susan Sarandon and a more sanctimonious privileged twit I haven’t seen in some time. She made it quite clear that she hates Clinton and pretty much supports the stupid idea that it’s fine not to vote for Hillary in the general if she winds up being the nominee. But when Chris pushed on whether she herself would not vote for the nominee if it was Hillary, she coyly demurred and said she’d have to see. But then she showed her true colors by merrily claiming that if Trump were elected President, we’d get the “revolution” immediately. What unadulterated crap!

I fully agree with the author. Sarandon is full of IT. Only an idiot could not understand that once the Reich takes power, the Revolution is over, its supporters either killed or imprisoned. For example, Russia had a left-wing Revolution in 1914. After 1917, the right-wing Russian Reich killed it.

From Think Progress: When police charged Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with misdemeanor battery on Tuesday, they also released a video that clearly showed Lewandowski physically grabbing and pulling former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.

In response, Fox News ran a segment featuring two legal experts who argued that, well, maybe Lewandowski did grab her — but was it really so bad?

Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl went first.

“Technically, it’s there,” said Wiehl, an adjunct law professor at New York Law School. “But I don’t know if I were a prosecutor if I would have charged that. I would definitely talk to the quote-un-quote victim, but when you’re in a place like that and you’re shouting like that and you’re moving forward, it’s not necessarily… yes, it’s a chargeable offense, but I don’t think I would have charged it.”

Former Morris County prosecutor Robert Bianchi weighed in next. He agreed with Wiehl that he wouldn’t have charged Lewandowski, and said physical contact was normal for a contentious political season.

Contact is normal when Republicans are involved, like when Bush staffers attacked the Dade County Canvassing Board to prevent them from finishing the Florida recount in 2000, allowing Potomac Pinocchio to steal the Presidency. It’s not just Fecal Dump. It’s what Republicans do.

  1. We have been talking about cats wearing things, so when I came across this picture of a car wearing a harness and a backpack, I thought I'd share (complete article)  Since he's Norwegion, I guess that's pronounced Yes-per?  (Or Yes-purr?)

New Yorker – Ah, yes.  Water will do that.  That's another reason why it is such a wonderful thing and we need to conserve it.

DKos – If the interview were exactly as reported, I would agree.  But there's some reason to believe it wasn't.  This has the full extended interview viseo and some corrected quotes (it's not really smart to paraphrase quotes too much.)

Think Progress – Gee.  How illumunating.  "(I)t’s a chargeable offense, but I don’t think I would have charged it.”  Ummm – why not?  She not a good enough citizen for you?  Grrrr.

Cartoon – Well, I sometimes miss our Harry.

    • That Jesperpusen is some cool cat., Joanne.

    • No winder the Kuddle Kittend have been ignoring me!! crying

I originally sae the whole interview on All In.  She fitrdt said she wouyld have to see.  Then she clearly said that if Trump wins the white house, it would start the revolution immediately.

    • Very cool cat!  I had a cat, Muffin, that I would take for walks in the neighbourhood and no leash.  She would keep up and explore various driveways.  Then when I called, she would come running back to me and we would continue.

  2. While Susan Sarandon's stance is certainly disappointing – it's not all that surprising.

During the 2000 election, [Susan] Sarandon supported Ralph Nader's run for president, serving as a co-chair of the National Steering Committee of Nader 2000.

And we all remember what impact those Naderites (and SCOTUS) had on the 2000 election.

    • I did not know about her and Nader.  Great catch!  Imagine where we might be today were it not for the eiight years of GW ChickenHawk that he made possible.

  3. NYer: My daughter's iphone was dropped in water by mistake, she put it in a little baggie, w/rice in it, dried it out overnight. LOL, Andy!

TP: Really, Faux News??? “Technically, it’s there,” said Wiehl, yes, it’s a chargeable offense, but I don’t think I would have charged it.”  You twist everything around to make it smell like roses, when in fact, on the video, it shows him manhandling/touching/ her! ugh!

Cartooon: Truman stood up against McCarthy. In 1954, he was 'censured' on two of 46 counts. After his censure, McCarthy continued senatorial duties for another two and a half years, but his career as a major public figure had been unmistakably ruined. *wiki

Hope that Lu shows up, and you get all fluffed up again. Enjoy your evening, take care, Thanks, Tom.

  4. Lost count of water damaged phones of folks I know years ago.

Thanks JD for the original content.

Did those experts believe people associated with elites should never be charged even when clear-cut?

This era could use more Trumans, too.

  5. I hope Lu got there!

The New Yorker:  Andy is so funny!  Tell them to put the phone in a bag of rice, it works.

Daily Kos:  I am truly surprised at Sarandon since she has supported liberal causes in the past, wonder if she just has a grudge against Hillary?

Think Progress:  I bet their reactions would have been different if someone had grabbed Trump and bruised his arm.  The reporter was from Breitbart, so she should have known she was in bad company.

Cartoon:  I bet they do miss him and are auditioning for his replacement now, in anticipation of winning the White House this fall.

  6. Puzzle — 3:10  Have you got the time?

The New Yorker — I thought it was only the CIA  that did waterboarding!  You just never know.

Daily Kos — If Drumpf won there would be no revolution, but there might be a Putsch lead by Drumpf as he subverted the constitution etc.  And Sarandon, full of it fits nicely.

Think Progress — This is such a lame ass stunt by Drumpf and company.  I read earlier that Drumpf is saying that he gave the video tape to police and trying to make himself look high and mighty and coöperative all the while saying Lewandowski was an innocent good family man.  Give it a rest Drumpf!

Cartoon — Can you imagine the hubbub around Bernie if old Joe were still around.  Smart move denouncing McCarthy.

  7. You must be getting quite adroit with giving yourself a bath at the sink, TomCat. Let's hope that Lu's meltdown doesn't take too long and groceries will be left in front of your door as a result.

TNY: So funny, I loved the way Apple wanted to compensate for the loss of the phone with trying to sell them a brand new one. Surely prices will go down now that their security has been breached, right?

DK: Susan Sarandon has the right to voice a personal opinion and we have the right to disagree with her. If Drumpf should become president, America will not see the "revolution"immediately, but face bloody rebellion and even bloodier counter rebellion leading to chaos and destruction. For any revolution to be a success it needs wisdom, leadership, coordination and a lot of patience not the wanton destruction of frustrated mobs.

TP: This is disgusting and disturbing: Fox is now having "legal experts" sanctioning Drumpf's "aides" roughing up reporters. Next they'll come out and say that the man who elbowed the protester in the face, later on declaring he'd need to kill protesters the next time, should not be charged either because thing like that can happen at a rally. Drumpf is encouraging his supporters to use violence and Fox is now saying the violence isn't an offense people should be charged with. The Republican Convention in July will end in carnage.

Cartoon: Too many McCarthys and to few Trumans about now.

  8. Andy continues to rock!

Sarandon has lost all credibility with me…not that she was really on my radar, in the first place.

TP: The ReThugs are who they are!

Sen. Joe "Have you no decency!" McCarthy, had none, and "decency" is not even on so much of the public's radar, at this point, I'm afraid!

  9. Andy was spot on, AGAIN! ROTFLMAO!!!

Susan Sarandon has to rethink her position. NOTHING in the RepukkklicanTs camp is worth even wasting the gas to go to the POLLS!!!

When ALL the people that work for Fecal Dump DRUMPF end up in jail for trying to "protect" his ass from reporters that are just doing their job, maybe he will be seen for what he REALLY is!!! A more useless waste of skin than the terrorists that he so much wants to BOMB!!!

Boy, do we need Truman now to get hold of DRUMPF!

  10. Thanks all!!  Hugs!!

I want a rebate on my I phone, because I do not have the security promised.
