The end of another week and it is time to cast the nets for "unhinged right wing moments" from the past week.  Of course there are more than 6, but there is only so much room.

2. Insane Trump apologist #2 speaks out on violent protests.

Jeffrey Lord, a member of Trump's insane clown posse who has been hired by CNN as an “analyst” but whose actual title should be insane Trump apologist, was at it again this week, bizarrely blaming liberals for the problem du jour, which is, of course, violence at Trump rallies. You’ll remember that last week Lord attempted to whitesplain to Van Jones that the KKK was and continues to be the armed wing of the Democratic Party, a leftist organization and therefore not something Trump needs to disavow.

So that should give you some idea of the level of reality we’re operating on.

This week Lord continued his peculiar brand of insanity when he blamed liberals for the new curse that is spreading through the land, the fact that Trump’s thugs and acolytes are getting violent with protesters who attend the Republican frontrunner’s rallies.

Specifically, Lord was referring to the videotaped incident in which a 78-year-old white man suckerpunched a black protester in the head at a rally, an assault for which the white man was charged.

When asked if he thought it might be important for Trump to denounce this sort of violence, Lord expressed the view that the incident was the black protester’s fault as well as the left’s.

“The American left has a long and detailed history of doing exactly this,” Lord said. “What do you think the 1968 Democratic Convention was all about? It’s history!”

He continued to unfurl his wild illogic. Trump did not have a responsibility to denounce the violence because liberals had been using the same tactics for “decades.”

Scratching your head for examples? Yeah, us too.

Instead, Lord denounced the protesters for showing up, not being down with the Trump worship program, and not raising their hands to salute the great and powerful leader.

Click through for the other 5 moments.  Clearly, Lord has been over indulging in the Republican insaniTEA!  Will he ever get his facts straight?

  1. 1.  Squatch's Open Thread asked if we should expect this kind of violence in everyday life if (God forbid) Drumpf is elected.  Based on what Omarosa says, I would answer yes.  Not good.

    2.  So a right wing POS punches a non-violent protestor and it's the left's fault.  So much for the party of personal responsibility.

    3.  Perhaps we should just be grateful that Lord Voldemort refrained from pulling out his wand and blasting Joe to Kingdom Come on national television.

    4.  While this was truly idiotic, I wouldn;t call Hillary truly right-wing.  Compared to me, yes.  Compared to most everyone outside the U. S., yes.  Compared to the insane clown posse, not so much.  (As to Nancy – there used to be a joke that she resembled a tampon because they were both stuck up.)

    5.  Perhaps Rubio is like the guy in the joke who turned down rescue offers from two boats and a helicopter because he was confident that God would save him.  After drowning, he complained to God that he hadn't saved him, and God replied, "Don't look at me, I sent two boats and a helicopter."  Rubio isn't pushing religion as hard as the others – but –

    6.  So it's the fault of Obama that conservatives are violent and unrepentant racists.  See answer #2 above.

  2. AlterNet: Boy, what doozies. They are all insane, and out of the ball park. The Repugs want to blame somebody else, or anybody who doesn't like their right wing rhetoric, for that matter. Certainly not themselves. They do the blame game best.

Hillary had her foot in her mouth when she spoke advocacy about AIDS at the funeral. Her apology seemed lackluster to me. Back in 1985, Nancy refused to help transfer her old friend Rock Hudson, whom I adored, to a hospital with better treatment because it would have been inappropriate. Mr. Reagan didn't even mention AIDS until his next to last year in office.

#6 unhinges me to read that BO'R actually said that. What an ID (insert -_-_-_ ) !

    Thanks, Lynn for this.

  3. Interestingly enough, I was right in the thick of the action in Chicago, 1968 and it ras a right-wing police riot.  It was the only time, I was ever violenmt at a demonstration.  I young girl held out a flower to a cop.  He hit her with a baton so hard that it split her skull.  I took his baton away and beat him bloody, shortly before police ganged up on me and beat me unconscious.  I woke up in a cell.  The next day I was interviewed and released without charges.  I suspest they did not want me testifying as to why I beat up the cop.

    • I'm tempted to praise you for what you've done, TomCat. It's so very human and understandable you reacted that way. I might react in the same way under those circumstances, but fortunately I haven't been tested yet and I haven't had to forsake my pacifistic ideals. I can only hope we all won't be tested in the near future.

      • I have left my vlood on the streets of most major eestern (US) cities, because of attacks by police and guardsmen, while we werfe demonstrating peacefully.  I was beaten unconscious on several occasions.  I never fought back in my own defense.   And when the Weather Faction took control of SDS, I dropped out, because they espouse violence.  It was just the outrage over this one situation.  I hope the girl survived, but based on what I saw, I doubt to.  I just couldn;t handle watching her murdered for giving a stormtrooper a flower.

  4. These have to keep till tomorrow, Lynn. My head has started to hurt again after your Open Thread and Israel incitements.

    • Having read them all now, my head is asking for a time-out again. What can be said that hasn't been said dozens of times before?

To find Hillary in this list of right-wing delusionals was an unpleasant surprise.  I'm not a great fan of hers, but she doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Lord, Scott or Rubio and certainly not O'Reilly. Too bad Hillary didn't admit too making a slip of the tongue – I think she meant Alzheimer and stem cell research in stead of Aids – and have it over and done with, but that may have come across as weakness or as the strain of the campaign getting to her. Reporting on this here in between the Republican riffraff isn't smart, because if she does win the primaries – and it's very likely she will – she's the best thing America's got against Dumpf or Cruz. And Democrats would be fools if they let themselves be split over Hillary v Barnie and let one of the two Republicans take the White House.
