Two from Bill Maher

This weekend I have a special treat for you.  I have two clips from Bill Maher.  Although I may not always like the evangelical manner in which he proselytizes his atheist religion, he’s so funny, and so accurate about virtually everything else, that I bring him to you, whenever I can.  In the first clip, Bill gives us a Trump dump.

Maher

Donald Trump’s lies are largely to blame for his supporters’ anger and the increasingly ugly scenes at his campaign rallies, according to Bill Maher.

The "Real Time with Bill Maher" host called out the GOP front-runner on Friday for his repeated falsehoods, just after a Trump rally at the University of Illinois was canceled amid security fears.

"There is a lot of anger there, but can we just get to what he says? Because a lot of the reason why people are angry is because he lies, horribly, like they all do at the debates," Maher said. "Nobody checks them on it. There’s that old saying, ‘Dance like no one’s watching.’ He lies like no one is fact-checking. And no one does."…

Is he spot-on, or what!!

In the second, he goes after lefties.  Bill Maher ended Friday’s episode of Real Time by calling on supporters of both Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to work together for the common good.

I could not agree with him more.  I’m a Bernie supporter, but I have not trashed Hillary, nor will I.  Whichever of them wins, I will be fully supporting that person, because to do otherwise is to support a National Socialist Plutocrat or an insane Fascist Dominionist.  Talk of staying home or voting Green is sheer lunacy, because the only way to keep a Republican out of the White House is to fill it with a Democrat.

  2. I have no idea what is going on with Trump.  It's certainly understandable that, with so many lies not only from him but for all Republicans, it's at least possible  that there are people out there who are just not listening.  At all.  What to do about it?  How to make it work?  I have no clue.

As far as fighting liberals, I can't agree with you both more.  I have not trashed Hillary either, and I will not.  I have expressed this opinion in other venues, and been called an idiot.  At best.

Bernie also seems not to have trashed Hillary.  No one knows better than he does the dangers of a Republican getting into the White House.

    • PS – I need to share this tweet (that was shared with me because I am not on Twitter) from Ivan Hernandez: I'm proBernie but would vote Hillary as I am a one issue voter and that issue is not opening the seventh seal and ushering in the apocalypse.  (2/2/16, 12:13 AM)

      • Good one, Joanne D.! That seems the way it's gonna be if DEMOCRATS don't come together and let the process work its self out.

  3. Bill Maher was SO spot on last night! The second one is the last one of his "New Rules" and they are ALWAYS the best!!! He had Bill Kristol's nuts in a knot by the time he was through running the RepukkklicanTs over the coals!!! Trump IS the WORST thing that could have ever happened this country! He has brought out the weirdos and red-necks that used to try to keep a lid on their hatred and racism, but NOW, they have CANDIDATE that speaks for THEM and it makes it OK for them to spout off their ignorant and vile hate-speech!

I have NEVER seen the kind of things that are happening in this election! Things like this make our country look BAD, all over the world! And the WORLD is watching us closely to see how we handle the rantings and ravings of a LUNATIC!!!

    • Trump is bad, bad, bad,  but I am not convinced he is the worst.  I think the worst is Ted Cruz.  Being less flashy only makes him more dangerous.

  4. Thanks TC–I'll be back later to watch.

    • I've heard on good authority that his episode Friday night is worthy of watching in its entirety…

      • Is Trump owned by corporations like the others besides Bernie?  I'm told most of the businesses that carry his name are owned and operated by others and that he sold the use of his name…where is the research into his record?

  5. Love Bill M. He's so on target. Love his "Orange Crush" comment in the 2nd one.

  6. Last year, we here north of the 49th had an election where it was rumoured that the left and centre left would split the progressive vote and thereby allow our republican, Herr Harper, to win . . . again.  Although the party leaders, Trudeau and Mulcair, did not talk about it to my knowledge, sufficient voters came together in order to defeat Herr Harper.  And that crossover was outside party lines!  So it makes no sense to me why some Democrats would act like petulant little children and not vote just because their first choice did not win the Democratic nomination.  To compare (loosely) the personalities and platforms, Bernie would be Mulcair and Clinton, Trudeau.  Had voters in Canada not come together, Herr Harper would still be Prime Minister.  So Democrats, grow up!  Get it together!  The real "enemy" is not Clinton or Bernie, but the Republican nominee, whomever that be!

Both Maher clips are spot on!

  7. Thanks TC – you (and Bill Maher) and everyone here are quite correct – to split the vote or to not vote for a Democratic candidate (whichever one) is to let in the Far Right Plutocrats – and God help every person on the earth if that happens!

  8. Thanks for both videos, TomCat. I like Bill Maher a lot for his outspokenness combined with humor.

Of course Drumpf's followers don't fact-check or want to have him fact-checked; Drumpf is giving them what they so desperately want to believe. Each and every one of his fans gives the same answer when asked why they like him: "He tells it like its is." By speaking these lies out loud Drumpf legitimizes their hatred and makes them feel good about them selves. Drumph is the epitome of sales tactics and advertising strategy: find your target's weakness and directly appeal to that to make them feel good. Drumpf is the spawn, and king, of dumbed down consumerism, selling a one-product brand that has nothing to do with politics or vision and that product is Drumpf himself.

  9. Thanks everyone.  The site has bderen down, so I'm running behind.  Hugs!

  10. Sigh!…. Won't show down here in Mazatlan……
