I am not a fan of Israel the country and government, not the people.  There is no doubt that the Jewish people suffered grievously at the hands of Hitler and the Nazis duriing WWII.  Throughout history, the Jews have suffered through pogroms and wars.  But it seems to me that they, at the hands of Netanyahu and his cronies, have become the oppressor.

From AlternetThe worst cases of racism to emerge from Israel this week demonstrate how non-Jewish minority groups are maligned and demonized, and how hawkish forces in the country then use this incitement to manufacture consent for meting out harsh treatment against the same groups.

Murder-manual author convicted of sedition.

At the end of the week, an Israeli court convicted on charges of sedition the author of a how-to handbook directing Jewish supremacists to murder Palestinians. The book, Kingdom of Evil, details several assassination scenarios, including “setting a house on fire with the residents still inside,” Ha’aretz reports. In July 2015, Jewish supremacists put the book’s specific instructions into practice, torching a home in the West Bank village of Duma and burning to death the Dawabsha family, including their one-year-old baby, Ali.

The Israeli government has filed no charges, however, against the author of another popular publication, which does not explain how Jews should murder non-Jews, but rather why they should. Two months ago, Israel’s High Court of Justice backed the Attorney-General’s decision not to press charges against the authors of The King’s Torah, which uses religious arguments to justify the killing of even non-Jewish babies. The authors, rabbis living in a Jewish-only West Bank settlement, were paid state salaries when they penned the tract.

This is the first of five outrageous acts from Israel geared to incite violence.   Click through for the remaining four.  It seems that Israel has become that which she despised.

  1. The hatred and venom is appalling, and very disturbing.

Thanks Lynn for this, and passing on as well.

  2. This is the second article you refer to an article from Alternet in which a number of appalling incitements from Israel within one week are gathered. That fact alone is shocking enough, and the only good thing about it is that Alternet now seems to have put these horrible acts on their priority list, the same as they did with outrageous acts by Republicans. And so have you, Lynn, and I thank you for it even though the hatred that emanated from these five examples made my stomach turn.

Israel has become its own worst enemy, but instead of searching it's own conscience Netanyahu and his ilk have chosen to fork out an extra $26 million dollars for a campaign  to restore Israel's good name in the outside world, even going so far as to push other countries (among them US and UK) into criminalizing any criticism of the state of Israel (that is, not the Jews per se) by tarring it all with same brush of anti-Semitism. I do hope neither Alternet nor you, Lynn, will cave in under this pressure and the Hasbara that will undoubtedly find you, and you both will continue to expose this.

  3. It is certainly not true that all Jews are pure and innocent, any more than that all Muslims are vile and guilty.  It is also not true that all Palestinians are pure and innocent, any more than that all Israelis are vile and guilty.  Of course the same is true of any and all groups all over the world, through time.  Yet, however true, statements like those I have just made break the minds of people who are committed to tribal, black-and-white thinking, people who exist in huge numbers and may even be the majority of humans.  None of that is new, and it has always led to wrong and unnecessary deaths.  An article like this certainly makes it feel up close and personal.  What can we do?

  4. I read the whole article and  I am dismayed that the Israeli's, who know well what prejudice and hatred can do, are so willing to cooperate with a government gone nuts.

  5. Thanks everyone!
