It’s another busy day.  Jeannie (shower-aide), Arvilla (PT) and Tracey (OT) have come and gone.  This is my last day with all three of them.  I will miss them.  They have taught me a lot.  Starting on the 26th, I’ll go out for  PT/OT on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:15 (average 5:20).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Patty Monster:

We have not seen our beloved Patty Monster for some time, so when the Squatch mentioned it yesterday, I sent Patty an email. Here is her reply.

Hi Tom.

So sorry i’ve been AWOL. I’ve just been busy around here and trying to limit my computer time.

I promise that I will show up again from time to time if for nothing else but the crossword puzzle.

Keep up the good fight. I still am!

My love and hugs to you all! Patty

Short Takes:

From Alternet: Soviet Jews: “The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy. And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern.” (link)

This is the first of ten Inhuman and typically Republican quotes from Henry Kissinger, whom Hillary praised last year, Click through for the other nine.

From Crooks and Liars: Oh, Ted. What have you done now? First you approved an attack ad against Donald Trump that creepily used children chanting "eminent domain" and for an encore, you’ve done, what?

BarF Bag Alert!!

The woman Uranus Inspector picked for the above commercial, Amy Lindsey, is a soft porn star. Perhaps he needs to turn his TRUS down a notch or three.  Bwahahahahaha!!

From The Guardian: Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders next square off in the Nevada caucuses. Who’s ahead there? Who knows – there’s not much polling. The Real Clear Politics average uses two polls in the last four months and shows Clinton up 20.

But hold the phone: a new poll by a TargetPoint, a Republican polling firm, conducted for the Washington Free Beacon finds – a tie! at 45-45.

That should be interesting!

  1. AlterNet: Yikes!! No compassion for his fellow man. How callous, and mean.

C&L: WTH?? He's lost his ever lovin' mind, and he approves this message…ick!

The Guardian: We shall see, I have to go get my pom poms!! for Bernie!! YAY!

Cartoon: Lincoln's birthday today. Didn't resign, but sadly, he was shot and died by JWB's hand.

I know you will miss your helpers. Your Fridays will be busy now. Hope it goes by well for you. Hope that you have a restful evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  2. Progressing enough to go to appointments is a major accomplishment on the road to full independence–cherish it.

    Thanks for the Patty update.

Hillary seems to think her generation is ignorant about Kissinger–which is not true.

Cruz seems to think everyone is ignorant.

Catherine Cortez is polling well to replace Reid despite the Republican landscape in much of NV (there is a sizable Hispanic vote there that will help her).  The worker visas component of Bernie's immigration stance and Hilary believing people fleeing violence, which we helped get started, should be sent back to make a statement instead of helping like Bernie wants could tilt much of her support his way.

  3. 5:02  Trying very carefully not to fall into the water.  I did that once, when I was nine, and once was enough, thank you very much.

Patty Monster – I expect she knws we all love her, but if you email her again, count me in to tell her that.

AlterNet – Hey, I remember Henry Kissinger.  Now there was no doubt he was NOT a natural born citizen, and OMG, were we grateful for that!

Crooks and Liars – Tee Hee.  You don't suppose Heidi recommended her?  Heidi must be a splendid actor to stay married to him, and so she would have been highly qualified.  No, I do realize that doesn't mean anything.  Just wondering out loud.

Cartoon – I don't think you can resign posthumously.  Even if you could, there are still a lot of sane people who would not want him to.

Some of your Fridays will also be the ones I am tied up, but every time there are 5 Fridays in a month, it will flip-flop.  I'll be thinking of you with encouragement however it goes.

Almost forgot AGAIN – Michael Moore's new movie comes out today and he has been in the ICU with pneumonia and then released, but too sick to promote it.  There's a get well card for him at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/get-well-card-for-michael-moore
and if you can go to movies, consider this one, if not tonight, sometime.  It's the one called "Who Shall We Invade Next" about good ideas we should steal from other countries.

  4. Kissie gets no kisses from me!

Cruz message: I do not watch anyting except perhaps the nightly news, that might put his face in myline of sight, but his ad approval face was sickening!

I'm thinking that Abe wants to resign from the Rethug Party, have his name stricken from its roles, never to be mentioned in the same breath!

Joanne, thnaks for the reminder about Moore'e movie.  I got an e-mail from him, expect many, or all, of you did, requesting that i help spread the news about the movie.  I sent it out to a bunch of people.

  5. 3:12  When I was a child, my father often took us fishing.  In one area, there were masses of waterlillies, so thick that you could walk on them without getting your Jesus boots wet!  We always took the canoe on these excursions as the propeller of an outboard motor would become tangled.  For the following days, there were waterlillies on Grandma's dining table.

  6. You are making fantastic progress if they are releasing you from home care!  Congrats!

Glad to know Patty is ok.

    Alternet:  Never trusted Kissinger.

Crooks and Liars:  I wish I could have heard the outcry in his staff room when he got the news that he had used a porn star.  Not exactly what evangelicals want to see!

The Guardian:  The more people listen to Bernie and learn about him, the more votes he gets.

Cartoon:  I expect Lincoln would resign if he were alive today.  He was an honorable man.

  7. Puzzle — 3:12  When I was a child, my father often took us fishing.  In one area, there were masses of waterlilies, so thick that you could walk on them without getting your Jesus boots wet!  We always took the canoe on these excursions as the propeller of an outboard motor would become tangled.  For the following days, there were waterlilies on Grandma's dining table.

Thanks for checking on Patty Monster!

Alternet — Kissinger, with his plastic hair, is another one that is up to the top of his hip waders in blood and bodies.  Another candidate for a war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

Crooks and Liars — "Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company." — Check that contract. Was it really the job of the production company to vet the actors?  Passing the blame, Republican style!

The Guardian — Political polls are obsolete by the time they are published.  Bernie is a moving target right now and therefore difficult to nail down.  My guess . . . 45-45 seems about right.

Cartoon — With what the Republicans have become, Lincoln is rolling in his grave.  I wonder if John Wilkes Booth is in the family tree of any current Republicans?

  8. What is this country coming to? Geez, Louise! I am so sick of the campaign! And we have 9 months TO GO!!!

  9. Too bad you won't have the three ladies helping you at home any longer, TomCat, but you do get to see two of them twice a month. We'll have to take you being pooped on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month into consideration. Have you found a solution for your shower-aid yet? Perhaps a hammam isn't a bad option after all 😉

Thanks for contacting Patty and posting her reply, TomCat. Good to hear she hasn't given up the fight.

Alternet: Is it to late for the committee to demand their Nobel Peace Prize back they have given him in 1973? Kissinger's callousness and megalomania is beyond belief, yet somehow has an all too familiar ring too it. Do you think he had it off with Triump's mother?

Crooks and Liars: Really? So besides creepy and a hypocritical Pharisee (yes, that's a tautology, but Cruz is that bad), Cruz is now a penny pinching cheapskate who rather uses a cheap porn star in his aid then an expensive actress. She must have had a ball making this commercial for El Creepo.

The Guardian: Sounds about right, with 10% on the fence. But then the Democratic establishment votes will all go to Hillary again, so she'll still come out on top, won't she.

  10. Thanks all Hugs!  Lincons wants to resign from the Republican Party.
