Yesterday I went to see the surgeon who created stumpy.  She said she was thrilled with how well I had taken care of her handiwork.  I will not see her again, unless stumpy has a break in the skin.  Then I’ll return for wound care, but I hope that’s not necessary.  I was done an hour before my Lift Bus pickup, and since the medical building is internally connected to Emmanuel Hospital, I went to visit the ward where I stayed.  I saw several of the people who took care of me, including the nurse on the right in this picture”

They were glad to see that I am doing well, and I was happy to express my gratitude to them.  My bath-aide just left, so I’m a perfumed pussycat with shiny fur.  I have a grocery delivery coming from Safeway.com later, so I get to put all that away.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:33 (average 4:12).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: Recently, I got into a discussion with some conservatives about whether Paul Ryan was a Muslim-loving socialist RINO.

I love these types of discussions because it gives me the chance to ask questions like:

What does it take to be a real Republican these days?

Things then get weird because people haven’t really thought about it much. They just seem to know it when they see it. So I continue the conversation and then ask questions like, which of our presidents were libtards? You know, the term that some on the right love to throw around.

Here’s my (surprisingly long) list.

President

Term

Beliefs

Conclusion

1. George Washington Non-partisan

1789-1797

Oversaw the creation of a strong federal government, implemented a tax system, and created a national bank. Stayed out of the French Revolutionary Wars. In his farewell address, he warned against partisanship, sectionalism, and involvement in foreign wars.

Weak, government-loving socialist.

PRESIDENT

TERM

BELIEFS

CONCLUSION

2. John Adams

Federalist

1797-1801

Promoted a strong central government, restarted the U.S. Navy and created the Marine Corps. Penned “Thoughts on Government” in which he argued for a government that promoted “happiness, to the greatest number of persons, and in the greatest degree, is the best.”

Federalist … doesn’t that mean government?

Libtard.

I shared two. Click through for the other forty one.

From The New Yorker: An endorsement from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is expected to widen Donald J. Trump’s already impressive lead among so-called “idiot voters,” an aide to the billionaire said on Tuesday.

While Trump was previously thought to have a lock on the idiot vote heading into the Iowa caucuses, a recent surge by Senator Ted Cruz, of Texas, has put the idiots back in play.

Cruz has worked tirelessly in recent weeks to tailor his message to undecided idiots, even revamping his stump speech to rid it of two-syllable words.

“That’s why Palin supporting Trump and not Cruz is such a win for us,” the Trump aide said. “She’s been out of politics for awhile, but she still has idiot cred.”

The aide said that no one should be surprised by the bond between Palin and Trump. “They’re both reality-show hosts,” he said. “And by lowering the bar in 2008, Palin singlehandedly made Trump’s candidacy possible.”

Andy is spot on! Hateful Hairball and Bloody Bullseye Barbie are a perfect match!

From NY Times: As soon as 26 states took it upon themselves to sue President Obama over the sensible, humane executive actions he took in late 2014 to protect millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation, it was inevitable that the lawsuit would land on the Supreme Court’s doorstep.

On Tuesday morning, the justices announced that they would hear the case, which means a decision will most likely come down by the end of June. The states should never have been allowed standing to sue in the first place, and their substantive claims are groundless.

There are more than 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. No one, besides Donald Trump, believes the nation has the resources, or the will, to deport them all. The clearest solution is to focus on removing those who pose an actual threat to public safety while deferring action on most of the rest and helping them “come out of the shadows.”

I fully agree. However, with the five Republican Injustices of SCROTUS (Republican Constitutional VD), one never knows what their next move to negate the Constitution will be.

  1. New Yorker: ''“She’s (Palin), been out of politics for awhile, but she still has idiot cred.” Now that's funny!!! LOL, Andy!

NY Times: ''Mr. Obama is wholly within his authority to make wise use of limited enforcement resources. The Supreme Court has already recognized this fact; now it needs to reiterate it.'' Slam the Repugs for not supporting his actions regarding this subject. Start w/Texas first, Mr. Obama.

Aww….what a nice picture! Glad to read that all went well, and now you can relax, and catnap. Enjloy the rest of your day, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  2. 3:55  What utterly gorgeous colors!  I've worked with yarn (a long time ago) that had essentially the colors in the second-from-the-bottom quarter of the photo, but I'd love to work with one that had all of them.

Such a nice privilege to be able to say "Thank you" in person to those who richly deserve thanks.

DKos – Only 43, when there have been 44 Presidents?  Well, yes, because Grover Cleveland was counted twice in the President's list but only once here.  Now.  Will any Republican today look at this and think maybe they have gone too far?  Nor a chance.

New Yorker – Oh, yeah.  Way too much truth.

NY Times – And this is the Old Gray Lady?  Talking sense?  God.  That alone shows how far to the right Republicans have gone.

Cartoon – I realize the name of the place is German, and therefore pronounced something like (to Americans) VAH – nah – zay, it's almost chillingly appropruate if pronounced American-like with that spelling.  Yeah,  They DID want to see the final solution.

  3. Oh, Lordy, TomCat! Palin AND HumptyTrump are in my state and I can't get them off of my T.V.!!! ARG!! They bumped my regular show to show the pep rally in Tulsa, spelled T-U-S-L-A on the Welcome Board for HumptyTrump!!! ROTFLMAO!!!

Just had to share that right now. I'll be back later to comment on your wonderful day at the doctor! BTW, glad Stumpy is doin OK!

  4. Wonderful to hear that stumpy is doing so well – and so are you – and that this probably was your last visit to both the surgeon and the hospital, TomCat. Nothing stands in the way of stumpy and George becoming the best of friends now. Your bath-aide is turning up regularly too, leaving a shiny-coated, scented and purring TomCat behind. Life sounds pretty good, my feline friend.

Daily Kos: "Every president of the U.S. would be considered a libtard by today’s Republican base. So what’s the point? [] The point is to illustrate how far to the right we’ve swung over the past 40 years."
True, we've all swung to the right, but the current Republican base has swung so far it is about to fall off and disappear into another dimension entirely.

The New Yorker: Only an idiot would want himself endorsed by an idiot. Andy's right, Palin's endorsement will win Trump a lot of idiot votes. Don't ask me why, probably the attraction of a kindred spirit.

NY Times: As the author already mentioned, this case should never have made it to SCOTUS and should never have been accepted by them. One can only guess what the reason behind accepting was, but this SCOTUS is not one to give much hope of a fair and impartial verdict. If that was the case, SCOTUS would have rejected it to start with.

Cartoon: Sorry, gives me the shivers.

    • If I ever have a medical appointment in the building again, I'll stop back to visit the ward and chase nurses.  With my power chair, I can ketch them now,  wink

Just like the Reoublican Party should give us the shivers.

  5. 3:26  I spent too much time admiring the mountain.

  6. Hope you send all our thanks w/ a big hug to your nurses!

  7. Hey, TC, I'll say it again: That's one hell of a price to pay to get to meet some cute babes!

Borowitz: Ouch!  See my C2 posting on this pair: http://www.care2.com/news/member/565542931/3947193  You can't make this up!

NY Times:  The SCROTUS five will have a damned field day with this!

  8. I am so happy for you. Glad that Stumpy is healing so well.  You are one courageous man!

Daily Kos:  I loved this and I tried to share it but couldn't.  Guess I am a libtard, too.

The New Yorker:  Sounds like Andy is reporting fact again instead of fiction.  Bullsey Barbie is such a good name for Palin.  I will never forgive McCain for foisting her on us.  She could have remained in Alaska and stayed unknown if he had not needed a woman to run with him.

NY Times:   I dread to hear their decision.

Cartoon:  Good one and even better comparing it to a Koch bros. retreat.

  9. Puzzle — 2:54  I know what you mean Jerry!

Daily Kos — Amen Lona!  Another dimension indeed! I believe it is called the twilight zone!

The New Yorker — Maybe Trump will do us all a favour and tap Palin as VP.  That sunk McCain and it could do the same for Trump.

NY Times — "Mr. Obama is wholly within his authority to make wise use of limited enforcement resources. The Supreme Court has already recognized this fact; now it needs to reiterate it."  SCROTUS won't let precedence stand in their way!

Cartoon — 20 January 2009, Republicans agreed on their Final Solution.  Obstruct Obama, and let the oligarchs and plutocrats run wild!

  10. Love the picture of you with your nurses.

  11. Cute nurses… lol.

  12. Thanks all!  Hugs!
