I know the Republican debate was tonight, and I don't want to tread on TC's detailed report that I am sure he is preparing, but I couldn't help but shake my head at the stupidity of the Huckster and Santorum.  Is it any wonder why they are relegated to the kid's table?  And today I read somewhere that voters were supposed to pick their representatives, not candidates picking their voters . . . a response to gerrymandering.  It is sad that there are voters that would actually vote for these two, or any Republican for that matter!

Short Takes

NY Times — So what should we say about the Obama job record? Private-sector employment — the relevant number, as I’ll explain in a minute — hit its low point in February 2010. Since then we’ve gained 14 million jobs, a figure that startled even me, roughly double the number of jobs added during the supposed Bush boom before it turned into the Great Recession. If that was a boom, this expansion, capped by last month’s really good report, outbooms it by a wide margin.

Talk about being a fraidy cat!

  1. RS/MJ: Ugh!! Liars, liars, Pants on Fire!

YouTube: What I like about Bill, is that he lays out the Truth, and says it like it is w/Repugs. Great video!

My Universe: Aww…the ducklings are in the house!!

Go, Bernie, Go, is my motto. Has a wonderful ring to it, doesn't it? Going to rest up the next few days, as next week is busy volunteering. Hope all is good in your neck of the woods, Relax, and Thanks, Lynn!

    • POTUS while Plack is a dasterdly sin for Republican racists,

I would think such positions would make the Frothmeister more popular with Republicans.

      Always hilarious!

      Shameful!!  Running from lunch!!

  2. Guard Ducklings!

Now if those had been goslings I could maybe understand – but ducklings?

  3. NY Times – So true.  Both sides are guilty of overestimating the impact of the President.  (Especially a President who issues as comparatively few executive orders as this one.)

Raw Story – Can you say "cognitive dissonance"?  If you pay any kind of tax, including sales tax, you are one of the SoBs – excuse me, dogs – that Upchuck Huck is talking about (For that matter, he himself is one – I presume he at least pays sales tax, even if he skates out from under everything else).  But his base doesn't hear that at all.  What they hear is that all those OTHER people are the dogs – and those OTHER people are the people they already marginalize.  So they will eat this up.

MoJo – We always seem to fall into the trap of thinking that being nucking futs explaind why a Republican candidate's support is low among other Republicans.  It doesn't.  I don't know why his support is low, but it isn't that.  It may have something to do with his not looking or sounding (in diction or tone, I meanm not in positions) like a redneck.

YouTube – Nobody says it like Bill, do thay?

Universe – Aaaaaw – they think the cat is Mommy and want to cuddle !!!

  4. Be Well Lynn , and enjoy your peace and quiet .

  5. Catching up on some video's, Lynn. Well, both Republicans were a waste of time, and good barf bags, but then Bill Maher made that all come together again with his funny and accurate portrayal of Republicans. Great counterbalance to the first two dodos.

    My Universe: brave ducklings
