Other than what they do to transfer wealth from the poor and middle classes to the 0.1%, everything Republicans do is to establish a permanent Republican Reich, a totalitarian fascist plutocracy in which elections exist only for show, because the outcomes are predetermined.  Support for the Nazis is deeply embedded in the Republican hierarchy.

The father of the billionaires Charles G. and David H. Koch helped construct a major oil refinery in Nazi Germany that was personally approved by Adolf Hitler, according to a new history of the Kochs and other wealthy families.

The book, “Dark Money,” by Jane Mayer, traces the rise of the modern conservative movement through the activism and money of a handful of rich donors: among them Richard Mellon Scaife, an heir to the Mellon banking fortune, and Harry and Lynde Bradley, brothers who became wealthy in part from military contracts but poured millions into anti-government philanthropy.

But the book is largely focused on the Koch family, stretching back to its involvement in the far-right John Birch Society and the political and business activities of the father, Fred C. Koch, who found some of his earliest business success overseas in the years leading up to World War II. One venture was a partnership with the American Nazi sympathizer William Rhodes Davis, who, according to Ms. Mayer, hired Mr. Koch to help build the third-largest oil refinery in the Third Reich, a critical industrial cog in Hitler’s war machine… [emphasis added]

The Koch Family is not alone.  Several prominent families were Nazi supporters.  Perhaps the worst was the Bush family, who helped Hitler rise to power.

Even after the US entered the war, Prescott Bush continued to trade with the Nazi Reich until the US froze his assets and threatened to imprison him.  The Guardian had an excellent article on Prescott Bush and the Nazis.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  WEW must prevent a Republican Reich!

  1. He who forgets history is doomed to repeat it…

  2. Interestingly, Wallis Simpson did a YUGE thing to save her country and her husband's country from the Nazis – although I'm sure she didn't realize it – nor did he – but he was a definite Nazi sympathizer – and had he been king instead of his brother, who knows whether there would even have been any resistance from England.

  3. In the years leading up to WW II, it was the fascists in Europe (Hitler, Mussolini and Franco, the Nazis didn't do it all on their own as Americans often tend to forget) that got help from American supporters. The scary thing is that the fascists are now no longer overseas, but are taking, or even have taken, control of the US from within. Sure, the right is on the rise in Europe too, but this time it is taking its lead from the States, and not from Germany, Italy and certainly not from debt ridden Spain.

  4. The worst part of this for me is how ignorant most of the Americal public is about this.  So called journalists are not doing the job their predecessors did.  This information needs to be shared on all media, not just the liberal ones.  Facism gets its support from those who fear others and want to feel superior to someone.  The current crop of Republican candidates are doing their best to achieve both.  I can't crosspost to Care 2 tonight, it won't let me.

  5. Amen to all!  I fully agree!
