I’m hurrying to leave in two hours to see my Prosthetist.  Tomorrow and Sunday are high holy days in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  I will be worshiping, but my Broncos have a first round bye.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:07 (average 4:18).  To do it click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Me: The following is an email conversation with Pat A.

Hi Pat,
We’re all worried about you, because we have not heard frim you in so long.  Are you OK?
Hugs!!
TC

Dear TC
I’m still here, though not at all well (surprise!) – just lots and lots of things draining the energy out of me for decades.  I have spent years online typing cheerful encouraging things and so often it is with tears of pain and exhaustion running down my face, and I have quite run out of puff, and just don’t seem able to do it for the time being.  I do hope you are better – mind you with the support network you have, and all the prayers sent up for you by those who love and care for you, I should hope you are positively levitating with buoyant health!
Please give everyone my love, and if it is possible could you ask for some prayers for me –
Many thanks
Hugs
Pat

Hi Pat,
Just so you know, we who love you do not require you to say cheerful and encouraging things.  As much as you love to support others, we would consider it a privilege to support you.  So please stop in, even if only to say you’re alive and bitch a bit.  I’ll relay your message to the group.
As for me, I am gradually learning how to live as an amputee.  My brush with death was so close, that I’m just grateful to be alive.
Hugs, prayers, and love,
TC

I trust that you will all pray or however you connect with the infinite) for her.

From Media Matters: MSNBC’s Maddow Highlights WND’s Profitable Relationship With Trump And His Attacks Against Obama’s Citizenship

Rachel Maddow: "WorldNetDaily Has Proclaimed That Its Man Of The Year For 2015 Was Donald J. Trump"

Hairball’s World Nut Daily endorsement defines him as insane.  Rachel, as always, is spot-on.

From Think Progress: Young undocumented immigrants, beware: Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz will unabashedly tell you to your face that if he’s president, he would deport people like you.

At a campaign event in Iowa on Wednesday, Ofelia Valdez — an undocumented immigrant brought to the country as a teenager from Mexico — explained to Cruz that she was covered under President Barack Obama’s executive action known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which provides temporary deportation reprieve and work authorization to some undocumented individuals. Almost 700,000 undocumented immigrants have been approved by the DACA program since its inception in 2012.

But Cruz has previously stated that he would strip the DACA program using any means necessary, including leading a government shutdown. Valdez told the GOP candidate that she’s worried about the 2016 election’s potential consequences for her future.

“As a DACA holder myself, I worried about whoever comes next to the presidency and what’s going to happen to people like us,” Valdez said in the video uploaded by the Democratic Party. “I think of myself as a part of this community and you know, first day of presidency, you decide to deport, you know, people like myself, you know, it’s just very difficult to process it.”

With Rep. Steve King (R-IA) standing in the background, Cruz nodded through her explanation, then told her that there were consequences for breaking the law — like deportation.

Barf Bag Alert!!

Coming from a fellow immigrant, that’s heartless.

  1. 4:11  I didn't know the specific language but I did know the word was from a language from points north.  So I always associate it with cold.  If that's a nice summer day, though, it could be quite pleasant, even for me.

"From Me" – Pat A is a treasure and of course she is and will be in my prayers.  And I agree that bitching would be welcome (sometimes bitching is more fun to read than good cheer anyway!)

Media Matters – Gee – I have a copy of the President's ling form birth certificate myself – in fact, two of them – on coffee mugs.  I guess I didn't realize the National Enquirer had such strong competition.

Think Progress – Teddy Cruz apparently doesn't realize there are only consequences for breaking the law if you aren't white and rich (and lack of whiteness can be ignored if you are rich ENOUGH and your Dad is an Evangelical bully).  Privilege.  Privilege.  Privilege.  If you have it and don;t know it, you don't even have to "be" very evil to be doing very evil things.

Cartoon – Oh Lord, how true.

  2. Pat, I agree with Joanne and will continue praying for you.

I heard from Edie yesterday–she got a new PC for Christmas to solve her technical problems that stopped working after three days–she hopes to be back soon when it gets fixed.

I liked Bernie's response to Trump in VT and the Q poll showing him ahead of Trump by 13 points…

I saw somewhere that birthers are now questioning Cruz's eigibility for POTUS, too…

  3. 2:52  Enjoying a tranquil paddle before heading out.

  4. Pat A. my best wishes for you, to you!

Media Matters: The Hairy Rump is totally bonzo…if one defines "Bonzo" as unattached to reality, based on his vocalizations.  Or, the man is a well studied student of Hitler's "Big Lie" strategy, the use of which would put him in the category of a Pathological Narcissist, where Hitler was.

TP: Cruz is just a dick, interested in denying possible citizenship to as many people who might, eventually, vote against him as possible.  Hey, that's what GOPiggers do!

Cartoon:  that's why we REALLY NEED to not elect a GOPigger, Libertarian, or other such intellectual troll.

  5. "My brush with death was so close, that I’m just grateful to be alive."

We are all glad that your "brush" was just that.  What is, now, is what is, and you are a part of what is, now.  But such a  brush can be one of the things that reminds us that most lousy situations are impermanent, unlike death, and, if we did not have it before can give us a sense of appreciation for just "being."

  6. I hope you got to the Prosthetist and back all in one piece through the winter weather, TomCat. And thank you so much for contacting Pat A. through e-mail when Care2 messages didn't get a reply.

To Pat A.: You are in my thoughts, dear Pat, and I worry about you because of your frail health. We understand that you can't be cheery and positive when you're feeling so exhausted and drained even if we haven't gone through part of what your health makes you go through. Please feel free to 'bitch', we all have our episodes, even the tomcats do 😉

Media Matters: I wish I could have seen an heard Rachel be spot on again, it's been a while since I saw her last, but I'm confident that she'll be exactly that quite often in the coming election year and I get to see that. Meanwhile Trump is getting more pathetic by the day and his voters more insane for voting for him. It's very obvious that he really expected to become Time's Man of the Year, and his grapes have become inedible sour ever since. He's been moaning he should have won on every occasion since, ridiculing Merkel who did win, like a little spoilt frat boy. So now pathetic Donald has (his own) WorldNetDaily proclaim him Man of the Year to make his world right again. And it all would be just very pathetic if millions didn't agree with him and thin he's truly Man of the Year and presidential material.

Think Progress: For once I'm glad I can't see Cruz telling Ofelia Valdez to her face that he'll deport her as soon as he becomes president. You've nicknamed Carson The Token Uncle here, TomCat, what should this sociopathic, hypocritical immigrant of Cuban decent be called then?

Cartoon: Sadly yes, five too many.

  7. Dearest Pat A –

Not being a Care2 participant, I only know you from TC's blog.  But I was relieved to learn that he was able to make contact with you!

You input is not only appreciated, but it matters … not only to me, but to many others.

Please visit us often, even if only in "stalk-mode", and post when you feel up to it.  But most of all, let us know how you're doing, and if there's anything we can do for you!

  8. Short Take:  Pat A.  we miss you and I always enjou your input. I am sending you good thoughts and prayers.

Media Matters:  World Net Daily are as nuts as Trump, so not surprised they gave him the "honor".

Think Progress:  Sadly, Cruz is going up in the polls.  I actually think he would be more dangerous as President than Trump.  He probably believes the drivel he spews, while Trump is putting everyone on a show.

Cartoon:  This is another good reason to have term limits for SCOTUS.

TC:  We are all grateful you survived your ordeal, and still keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

  9. Dear Pat…we miss you. Vent a little, vent a lot, raise holy hell if it helps.  Granted the whole situation is bad but in this place, you are surrounded by those who feel the same as you do and who love you.  You are safe here.

    Sending hugs and love….

  10. MM: Rachel is such a good reporter. I see she showed professional restraint in talking about the Thumpster.

TP: What a mean, horrible thing to say to someone.!!! WHAT an A – – !!

Pat A: Sending healing prayers to you, hope all goes well for you.

TC: Thank you for your update re: Ms. Pat, also…I'm so glad and relieved that you make it through 'your brush with death', and that you continue to get better & better with each passing day. Prayers to you too.

    * Did anyone see the Larry Wilmore’s Extended ‘Nightly Show’ Interview with Bernie Sanders? It's excellent!
    http://splitsider.com/2016/01/watch-larry-wilmores-extended-nightly-show-interview-with-bernie-sanders/

  11. Thanks and hugs to all.  I copied and pasted your comments to Pat A into an email and sent them to her.

  12. Pat A., I feel your pain. My doctor is "experimenting" with taking my pain meds down. And also my husband's. It has made the holidays a living hell. When the new guidelines came out for pain management, it has left us in undeniably horrible pain. So let me tell you, I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Cruz has the heart of Cruella DeVille! To tell that to someone face to face, should be the tipping point for his run. But HumptyTrump has shown that there is NO tipping point for the hateful way that RepukkklicanTs have said and done to people other than white!

TC, glad you are doing better with George.

Ellipsoid Orb worship is going on as I type. Should be exciting playoff season!
