I have another busy day today.  PT and OT are both coming this morning.  Then I’m going to cook dinners for several days and put them in compartmentalized trays for freezing.  Tomorrow I have an appointment with my Prosthetist, because George probably needs some adjustments.  So expect no more than a Personal Update or Open Thread tomorrow.

Later: B9ith have come and gone.  Arvilla (PT) worked me hard.  Then Tracy (OT) agreed that supervising my cooking would be a good project for today, so I have four meals od Salisbury steak with gravy, cheese whipped potatoes. and mixed veggies.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:12 (average 5:35),  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Tales:

From The New Yorker: \Republican Presidential candidates ripped President Obama on Tuesday for what they called his stubborn insistence on linking gun violence with guns.

In campaign stops across Iowa and New Hampshire, the G.O.P. hopefuls pounded the President for irrationally concluding that guns have played a role in the nation’s epidemic of mass shootings.

“How any reasonable person could look at gun violence and say that guns are involved is beyond me,” said Texas Senator Ted Cruz. “And yet, somehow, President Obama always finds a way.”

“I would very much like to have a conversation about gun violence, as President Obama has said he wants to have,” said Florida Senator Marco Rubio. “But as long as he keeps falling back on this tired, unproven connection between gun violence and guns, there’s just no point.”

The former Hewlett-Packard C.E.O. Carly Fiorina said that Obama’s persistent linking of gun violence with guns was “sad but not surprising, from a man who believes that people’s health can be improved by access to health care.”

“He isn’t thinking straight,” she said.

But Andy, there is no link between gun violence and guns… in a pig’s eye!!!

From Daily Kos: It appears that Katherine Prudhomme O’Brien, the NH GOP lawmaker [Republican delinked] screaming and flailing her arms in the video, has been stalking Hillary for several years now.

She tried the same stunt in 2007, during a Clinton campaign appearance.

She tried it again today and Hillary shut her down to the roar of the crowd.

Reading through many of the comments on her Facebook [Republican delinked] , her appearance failed spectacularly.

Sorry about the self promotion by the person that prepared the video. The one in the article had no embed code. The lying Republican legislator was accusing Bill of having multiple rape victims, and Hillary, of covering it up.

From NY Times: In the days after the Paris terrorist attacks last November, world leaders denounced the shooting massacres. On Wall Street, the money manager Louis Navellier saw a buying opportunity.

Shares of the two leading gun manufacturers, Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger & Company, popped onto Mr. Navellier’s computer screen. Their stock prices were rising as a result of strong sales. He began accumulating positions in both companies.

Two months later, those bets have paid off. The stocks of Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger spiked again after the San Bernardino, Calif., shootings last month. They also moved sharply in advance of President Obama’s announcement on Tuesday of measures to curb gun violence.

How about that. Banksters are not content to let gum manufacturers profit from the panic they help cause by arming criminals. The Bankster want to cash in on it too!

  1. 5:19 (5:35)  Only eighteen spikes?  Who are they kidding?

New Yorker – The People's Email Network always comes through.  If you go to http://www.peaceteam.net/applaud_Obama.php, you can send faxes to your Congresscritters applaudung Obama's executive orders, and when those have been sent, you will have the opportunity to receive, free, not even postage, a beautiful black-and-white-and-red-all-over bumper sticker:  "Peope with guns kill more than people without guns."  (Personally I'm not sure that's true, as oil companies and banksters can kill a whole lot of people with toxic chemicals, stress, and starvation, but since there's no way to get a record of that, may as well go with the flow.)

DKos – I have never, ever said that Hillary wasn't doing anything right – and getting herself stalked by this – person – proves beyond question she is doing SOMETHING right.  I just like Bernie better.

NY Times – They want to cash in on everything, or else they wouldn't be banksters.  This is reminiscent of the pitch an executive of the GEO group gave to investors in private prisons – that the US will continue to "attract crime" because "The reality is, we are a very affluent country, we have loose borders, and we have a bad education system."  Oh, sorry, I should have said BARF BAG ALERT.

Cartoon – A day that will live in infamy, unless you are a Republican.

Off topic, just for fun – I got an electronic iris preview catalog today, and two of the ones they will be showing are "Dark Vader" (black, of course) and "Grateful Red" (surely I don't need to state what color this one is).

  2. How do you have gun violence without guns?  Of course there is a connection between guns and gun violence, you twit!

  3. 3:23  OK, I get the point Puddy Tat!  You're really sharp today!

  4. Sad it's so easy to find stories of people aping the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz ("If I Only Had a Brain")–the Iris catalog Joanne mentions has more insight and worth than all the people you mention today…and the contents are 100% plants and future plants.

    • Only if they are in an irony-free zone – not trying to justify Baum's genocidal tendencies, but the point of the srarecrow wanting a brain was that he was the only one who actually had one to begin with – the Dunning-Kruger effect kept everyone else from realizing they were more brainless than he was.

  5. PT and OT have to work you/ anyone hard, your job is to commit to working hard!  Keep on trucking, man!

DK: Still another twit? What, did the RNC clone one and put it out in various disguises?

    Hilary did good!

    Banksters do bad!

Cartoon:  It is sad that he blew so much opportunity because of his cigar!  Had he been able to show his face, along with Al Gore, on the campain trail, we may never have had BushII!

  6. Again a very busy but also very useful day, TomCat. It sounds like you're rather enjoying this therapy and projects in the comfort of your own home. Meals sound delicious and so much healthier than prepared food from the store.

The New Yorker: LOL Andy's back to being brilliant. He uses the GOP's stupidity for the only thing it's good for: making you laugh so hard that your eyes tear up.

Daily Kos: Hillary is a very experienced politician; if the Benghazi hearing couldn't ruffle her feathers, who does Katherine Prudhomme O’Brien think she is to think she can do better. She's a laughable attention seeker who was put in het place by Hillary very neatly. Of course that will not prevent her from coming to the next rally, all expenses payed by the GOP.

NY Times: Wow, money manager Louis Navellier is the poster child of everything that is wrong with Wall Street. Banksters now no longer pretend that they don't know their money is made over the misfortunes, corpses even, of others.

Cartoon: Seventeen years ago, and apparently as fresh in the memories of the GOP as if it was yesterday.

  7. New Yorker: What amazes me is that the ReThugs always find a way to lie, and try to deceit the people into thinking they're right. It's a full time job for them. ugh! LOL, Andy!

DK: In other words…"Go Away!" Great comment, Hillary!

NYT: Pretty cold blooded to feast over the money made from gun sales. Damn sickening, imho.

Very busy day indeed, and today. Glad that you are cooking meals ahead. You have a good team looking out for you, and helping you. Hope that you have a good day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  8. Thanks all.  Hugs.  I'm in a big hurry!
