From Rep. Brian Sims (D) Facebook page:

Terrorism has many faces around the world.  This is the very familiar face of terrorism in the United States.

He's not ISIS, Hamas, or a Crip.  He's not Muslim or an Atheist.  He doesn't have brown skin or wear a kaffiyeh.  He didn't come here in a boat or on a raft.  He hasn't run from genocide or been persecuted by a ruthless dictator.  He's not a refugee, a "thug" or foreigner.

He's ours.

This is the face of American Terrorism. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Rep. Brian K. Sims is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Philadelphia.  Elected in 2012, Sims is also a lawyer and activist on LGBT civil rights.  Sims is the first openly gay elected state legislator in Pennsylvania history.

  1. I heard today that the DOJ is still looking into domestic terrorism charges but won't push for them unless Colorado's capital case starts to go sideways.  This idiot needs to be locked up for the rest of his life, based on the info I have seen so far.

  2. Thanks, Nameless.  I am on Facebook and I shared it there.  His statement is the truth.

  3. Go to Care 2 if you can.  Some excellent comments from Dandelion and Animae C.

  4. 7 IN 10 Majority for Choice

"7 in 10 Americans consistently say they believe that abortion access should be legal. They believe that the decision of how and when and with whom we become parents is best made by women—not politicians."

"Other polls find similar results. A May 2012 Gallup poll with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent found that 77 percent of Americans thought abortion should be always legal or sometimes legal."

Polls Have Been Misleading You About What Americans Actually Believe About Abortion

"Plus, questions about constitutional law may not be particularly relevant to most people. “Abortion has been legal for 40 years. So part of me wonders why we’re still polling on legality,” Undem told ThinkProgress. “I think a more accurate picture comes from when you’re asking about what the public wants for someone who’s decided to have an abortion.”

That’s one of the areas that Undem experimented with in the poll she recently conducted for Vox. She asked respondents a series of questions about what they believed a woman’s abortion experience should look like. If a woman wanted to have an abortion, would they want her experience to be “comfortable,” “supportive,” “without pressure,” “non-judgmental,” “affordable,” “informed by medically-accurate information,” or “without added burdens”?

"A large majority of respondents — at least 69 percent — said “yes” for each of those descriptors, suggesting there’s consensus about how Americans want women to be treated after they choose to seek an abortion. This aspect of Undem’s polling is “really groundbreaking,” according to Stewart."

"Most people, understandably, aren’t tracking how many laws [against abortion] are being passed."

  5. Condolences to those 3 lives lost and the 9 wounded at PP, and for their families.

I hope that he gets charged with a hate crime, and is prosecuted in a Federal Court.

Thanks, for this post, Nameless and Joanne.

  6. anti-US terrorism, created and grown by Fox and its allies of the right-wing conservative GOP

  7. Thank you for this great posting, Nameless. And Kudos to Rep. Brian Sims.

No need to say Mr. Sims is not a Republican, his wonderful statement made that quite clear. I wish more elected officials were as outspoken as he is, because it is hard to get the truth to be heard when so many are trying to drown it out with hate and lies. Sadly these lies are repeated without much thought on Care2 too.
