I spent the entire day working on my new computer.  I have barely scratched the surface.  They removed the bandages from my leg.  The pain was severe, but they were pleased with the results.  However, I am not returning to Vibra.  It turns out that I’m making too much progress for them.  I will be taken to a skilled nursing rehabilitation facility, anytime between Monday and ???.  I love the superior healing, but dislike the uncertainty.

I could not be more pleased that Obama put the kibosh on Keystone XL.  I plan to watch the Democratic Forum on my computer, as Legacy’s TV system does not include MSNBC.

Thanks and hugs!

  1. Thanks for sharing the great news on your speedier recovery!  The circle of prayers for you keep growing and your new PP person Ted, who is also on Care2, began promoting PP posts when I first sent to him and then also has been doing when Lynn sends him a message about posts (a master at promoting posts).

  2. I checked under everyone's name and nobody had posted to Care2 so here it is http://www.care2.com/news/member/775377582/3925323

  3. Good – you have a new computer.

Bad – took all day to scratch the surface

Good – you are healing quickly

    Bad – pain

Good – you are moving to rehab.

    Bad – uncertainty when.

Life has its ups and down!

Hang in there TomCat.  You are doing terrific.

  4. Glad to hear about the speedy recovery and congratulations on the new computer.  What kind did you get and what operating system?  Windows 10 is out, or at least about to be released.  I keep getting messages to do a free upgrade.  I have heard that sometime next year, Windows will automatically upgrade everyone.  I still have Windows 7 and am reluctant to change.

    • Lynn, I hope you see this.  From what I have heard you do NOT want Windows 10.  You can google various workarounds to prevent it from downloading against your will.  BTW, anything on your computer that has "gwx" in its name is suspect, as that stands for "Get Windows Ten Roman Numeral."  I have not yet found a true Windows Ten Blocker, but I haven't looked for the past couple of months, and there is sure to be one eventually.

    • TC, to even see a post from you is fantastic!  I'm very hopeful for a good transition to your new facility, and do definitely understand any trepidation at the uncertainty.  Just remember how many are praying for your continued progress.  We keep you in our thoughts.

Lynn, I would think long and hard before getting an update…Windows 7 was an excellent program, 8 was junk, and 10 has issues….to put it mildly.

      • When I bought my computer, Windows 8 was out but I insisted they load Windows 7 because I like it.  When Windows 7 is no longer supported, I guess I'll have to change.

  5. I'm so happy that you are back online… again and that you are doing so well.  Better and better every day! Keep it up! Take care

  6. This is great news that you are healing so quickly that you are all ready going to rehab.  Hang in there, we are still praying for you.

I am glad the Prez vetoed the KXL too, but no happy about boots on the ground in Syria.  Now we have another war going.

  7. TC, with your medical improvement, and a new computer, you will be unstoppable!  Hallelujah!

  8. Well, don't I feel silly. I just punched in a comment on the the ARGH!!! dated 11/5, asking what you were using now to communicate and wishing you good luck with your transfer back to Vibra when I noticed a newer ARGH!!! in the left top corner. Being 10 hours ahead or so sometimes really is a nuisance.

So you're not going back to Vibra, TomCat,  but to another facility, better equipped to deal with your rapid progress. I can understand you've got mixed feelings about it. It's good to hear you're doing well, but I got the impression Vibra suited you and now you have to get yourself acquainted with a new surrounding, new people and new routines and you're not certain when that's going to be. I hope for your sake it is Monday or soon after, before you settle in the routines of your current abode again.

My husband woke me up this morning with the news that Obama had put the kibosh on Keystone XL, as you say. That was a great way to wake up,  I can tell you.

  9. Been awhile since I have heard the word "kibosh" used. lol.

Do you have a personal shopper?

What was your take on the Rachel Maddow's forum of the three Democratic candidates? Will there be a news story?

To those of you who do not want the new upgrade of an operating system or any other program upgrade , you can set your computer to manual download. In that way, you can download or reject whatever new download that pops up on your screen asking you.

  10. For those of you who missed the broadcast, here is the Forum in continuing segments. The forum was excellent. Beats anything the GOP have done by a monkey's fart by far.

  11. Forgot to mention the little dance I did when I heard about the President's veto of Keystone!  I've really written a lot of letters, signed petitions, and growled about it, as have we all.  Common sense for the environment…awesome!

  12. So glad to hear your news. Healing quickly is very good at our age.

I watched the Forum last night and it was terrific. I hope you enjoyed it as well. I hope people really paid attention to Bernie.

  13. Great to hear from you T.C. re. Mr Carsen,s fairy stories. Should be in print. "My Life as a ficton writer"".(and he is running ahead!). Holy Cow. Speaks volumes re. intelligence of the American Voter . Sorry!

  14. sadly I hate to say that having pain is probably a good thing at this time

  15. Glad to read that you got a new computer, and got those nasty bandages off, but shame about your pain.

I can understand your uncertainty, and hopefully you w/be transferred quicker, since you are healing well.

Keep mending, relax, and enjoy your evening. Take good care, TC and Thanks!!

  16. Well, TC, you got a new computer. When are you gonna get on the FF site? I haven't seen you in a while.

I hope the transition is easy for you. Any kind of surgery is painful. And what you have been through, it is a sign of healing, I hope! Sounds like you are set up with a new computer and new rehab facility. I hope the new computerware is not hard to get all of your stuff installed on!! That's the worst thing about a new computer!!! If you could just transfer all the stuff you wanted to keep to the new computer without all the download time, it would be GREAT!!! What we will do to stay in touch with friends!!! When they are close like the ones on this and C2, it's worth it!

Take care of your wounds. They still have to heal some, so be careful!!

Miss ya on Sunday's Ellipsoid Orb Service!! I'll be thinking about you!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
