This will be an easy-peasy – and very SHORT – post.  (So if one of you other guys did an in-depth one, my apologies.)

Borrowing from the bigger story going on of World Series baseball, with my Kansas City Royals being in the processing of winning the World Series, let’s start with “You can’t know the players without a scorecard …”

Debate_GOP_Lineup

So, Who WERE the Winners and Losers?

WINNERS

You … if you missed watching the thing and tuned into the World Series game instead!

LOSERS

America – if this is the best the GOP can muster

One of the few important things coming out of the debate is the fact that Donald Trump has decided to get even edgier than he has been, and changed his logo …

As for me?  I was a WINNER!  I spent my time watching the KC Royals notch another win!

  1. Posted to Care2 at http://www.care2.com/news/member/101612212/3922582

I guess I'm a winner then.  As I have said, I don't watch horror movies.  Although I woke up this morning feeling as if I had watched it, but the headache is starting to ease off.

The graphic is spectacular and reminds me it has been way too long since I visited Democratic Underground.

  2. I am another winner! I didn't watch either!

  3. I did watch the Skype (I think) link last night, w/Lewis Black, he was w/Ron White. They were watching and talking about the debate. I enjoyed Mr. Black's comments, and how he feels about the Republican Party as a whole. I watched about half hour and then turned it to the baseball game. 2-0.!!! Wow!  Liked the pictures of the GOP Lineup too! lol.  *I didn't bookmark the link, sorry!

Kudos to your team, Nameless!! Thanks!

  4. I don't bother with those buffoons.  I don't think any of them can win next year, not even if the Democrats run Bill the Cat (Bloom County, by Berkely Breathed is back online after 25 years).  Besides I get Causes, I get the Daily Kos and I get Huff Post, a daily paper, all of which is much more than I will actually read about them.  From what I gathered from the headlines this morning the main point of contention was how mean the questioning panel was.  Real substantive stuff that.  If I had but one magic power, it would be to wiggle my nose and poof them all away, maybe into the phantom zone, I think they and their 1% handlers would fit right in with Krypton's dregs.

  5. While I do not have a TV other than to watch DVDs, I "missed" the third GOP debate. Just as well judging from the excerpts on the internet, I didn't miss much. I did watch the Democracy Now with Amy Goodman broadcast earlier this AM. Here is the link for the THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2015 newscast. Excellent commentators. Title excerpts in it if you want to watch certain portions.

Yes, I agree that the GOP is very much like watching a horror movie. EEK! lol.

    Great Cartoon!

  6. This article was indeed delightful to read, Nameless , especially after I had just finished a review of the debate by my Dutch paper's correspondent in Las Vegas who did have to sit through the whole thing. I don't envy this guy his job one bit.  His main impressions: there wasn't a winner as none really answered any of the questions asked, but instead starting with Cruz started blaming it all on the mainstream media. What they were blaming them for never became clear, but after Cruz's cue, they all deflected from the questions asked and started hacking into the mainstream media, which soon turned into the liberal and left media. Somehow they had found one common ground: those villainous liberal media. So funny, from where I sit, America appears to have no left media at all beside some internet sites and some comedy stations and an individual show here and there, but calling the mainstream media liberal or left says a lot about how much these clowns have moved over to the extreme right themselves.

The loser, according to the die-hard Republicans the correspondent interviewed too, was Jeb Bush, who again performed weakly in the debate. The 'pundits' favorite had been Bush before but now they were Carson (because he's such a nice man) and Trump (because he's so honest and outspoken). Both were "real people with real emotions", they weren't fake like Jeb. The correspondent wisely refrained from commenting on that.

  7. I'm a loser.

Latino Screwer and Uranus Inspector won wirh a PhD: Piled Higher and Deeper.

  8. I hd once said that if The Donald were to be in the debates, I would seriiously consider watching them…well, I considered it befor debacle #1, and chose not to watch.

I figure that if I want(ed) to see something from the Twilight Zone, I could easily lok at Netflicks, or something of that sort!

Speaking of Twilight Zone, if some alien culture from another solar system ever gets to see the broadcasts of these "debates" they may just decide to come by here, and put us out of our misery!  Planetary euthanasia!

  9. Sorry, Nameless! I didn't watch either of them! One good and the other was not my sport, sorry. But the replays and other wonderful creations in the media let me know all I EVER wanted to know about that creepfest!

Love the lineup card for it! Suits them ALL to a T!!

  10. P.S.: I love the Huckabee cartoon.  It reminds me of the last 2 Gingrich candidacies, as I am sure, that that is all he was in those races for, book, after book…oh, yes, and the "leftover" cash he got from supporters, in his case trusses!

When at the gym, this morning, I noticed some idiot station, probably Faux News, interviewing Gingrich about the Speaker issue.  Who the hell else, but Faux news, would ask the Newt for an opinion?!

  11. I listened to duelling reads from family members of the local paper in a hospital room indicating that Bush fizzled, Rubio and Cruz seemed better than their shrub mentor and that Trump would drop out if he didn't get his media attention and entertainment from being in the lead LOL.  Thanks Nameless

  12. Like Jim, I don't have television so I watched neither.  However, in preparing my own posts, I did get to see snippets.  I have a 30 litre pail and garbage bag beside my computer for a barf bag!

As to the ball game . . . go KC!!!  Since KC beat the TO Bluejays, and had to go to game 6 to do it, I'll support them!

  13. Since I did not watch it, I am a definite winner.  Love the analysis of the candidates, though.

  14. still just a bunch of crybaby bullies!
