Almost every week, Republicans join a competition to see who can say the most outlandish things, and in the process, they push the envelope on just how deranged InsaniTEA can become.  I trust that you will believe it, when I tell you that last week was no exception.

Right-wing film critic celebrates fact that Jimmy Carter has cancer.

Here’s a lovely lady, whose film criticism we’ll be sure to start reading. Her name is Debbie Schlussel, and upon hearing that the 90-year-old ex-president and Nobel Peace Prize winner is gravely ill, the sometime-film critic, sometime-right-wing political commentator tweeted this out:

Yes, she did.

She even tried to make it a trending topic. It failed to trend. When the twittersphere reacted with some hostility and called her names, she was really upset. After all, she did not use vulgar language. How could they do that to such a nice gal?

Inserted from <Alternet>

How typically Republican she is!  I’m the first to admit that if Crawford Caligula were to begin a permanent vacation in the infernal regions, you would see no tears from me.  However, I would have the decency to offer polite condolences, or at least to keep my mouth shut about it until the morning period was over.

This is only the fifth of five deranged Republican moments from last week alone.  Click through for the other four.

  1. 1.  Sure, Margart Sanger had some ideas that were maybe not politically correct – or maybe she just didn't have the science (no one had the science quite right then) to express herself in ways which resonate today.  But the Nazis burning her books is retty good evidence she was not cozy with them – OR with their ideas.

    2.  Trump.  My God.  (No, no, I'm not implying the two are the same!  Far from it!)  It is hard to say anything about him without it getting twisted.

    3.  But this is exactly what to expect from people who no more understand satire than they do quantum mechanics.  It's incoherent exactly because they do not know what they are discussing.

    4.  I don't personally care if you put up the biggest Nativity scene the world has ever scene.  As long as you do it on your own property (not government propertty, which is mine too) and you do it with your own money (not tax money, which is mine too).  They just don't seem to get that, do they?

    5.  Well, I am very glad the twittersphere jumped on her with large quantities of both feet.  I have to say I am a little surprised though.  I had the impression there were a lot of crazies on both Twitter and Facebook.

    • Actually, Sanger did have her issues.  She believed in Eugenics, and suppoeted abortions and styerilizations of what she called "mud people" so there would be "more for the best and the brightest".

However, Planned Parenthood today bears no similarity to their racist roots.

      • True, but the way she believed in eugenics was a little different.  She also wanted black people to have "the children they wanted" and to reproduce their best.  At least she said that at one point.  Her views may of course have matured.  It happens to those of us who have functioning brains.

  2. I agree with your choice being the low of the low…hope the petition to yank Fox's license works before the election to counter the Donald.

  3. Well, Debbie, there's alway room for one more in the "Rethuglicans Are Evil Incarnate" car.

Since Schlussel felt she was on to something, she also Tweeted this gem:

"Only the good die young: Jimmy Carter, 90, has cancer.  So sad, too bad."

    https://twitter.com/DebbieSchlussel/status/631594482060918788

The one saving grace for this pile of piss-poor protoplasm is that when she dies you can rest assured she'll be only briefly mentioned in the Old-bitch-uary column.

  4. We might retaliate in kind with the twit brain but it's not nice to mock the afflicted.

  5. 1. Ben Carson would be a little closer to the truth if he asserted that guns are the number one killers of black people, but that wouldn't suit the rabid base and he wouldn't be able to make a case for Planned Parenthood practicing eugenics on black populations. Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! indeed.

    2. Donald Trump: It's getting a little scary now that both Faux News CEO Roger Ailes and Fox's darling anchor woman Megyn Kelly are walking around with brown noses from you-know-what. Money and ratings above all.

    3. Funny or Die: Fox Five proves again that humor, and especially satire, is lethal to Republicans and their propaganda machine, as they can't recognize it for what it is, let alone know how to deal with it as they a devoid of a sense of humor themselves.

    4. Elisabeth Hasselbeck: A sure sign the Republicans are losing it, is them having to rely on issues that worked well in the past because they can't think of anything new and outlandish enough to appeal to their rabid base. So now it's Christmas all year around.

    5. Debbie Schlussel: And you know people have been sent to the back of the Republican class, when they have to resort to revolting tweets like these to get some attention. I bet Debbie is a great fan of the adage: Even bad publicity is better than no publicity at all. Pathetic and enough said.

  6. I clicked through, now I am nauseated.   Debbie Schlussel has to be a horrid person, to say this about anyone!  I hope her twitter feed blows up.

I really enjoyed The View until Elizabeth Hasselbeck came on it.  She is where she fits best, Faux news.  I agree with Joanne, I don't care where you put your nativity scenes or religious icons, just not on state property.

I am still trying to discern how Ben Carson ever got to be a brain surgeon, since he has very little brain power himself.

As for Trump, I am amazed that he is so high in the polls, but a little amused that the Great Ailes had to back down.

  7. I have never seen the like of insaniTEA from this! Jimmy Carter has done more for the poor and displaced than any former president! He is the best here is at showing real Christianity!! He has done so much for Habitat for Humanity and so much more!!!!!
I hope he beats it and lives to be 110, or more!

  8.

Another day of "nuts and dolts" Republicanus/Teabaggerum style!

Namaste Jimmy Carter.  Prayers for your recovery.

  9. I agree that Jimmy Carter is a very rare man in politics, and deserves respect, unlike that Rethuglithang……

  10. Thanks all.  I predict that there will be worse coming.
