It’s been too long since I’ve been able to share some fresh humor from Bill Maher. While I do not agree with the way he proselytizes for evangelical atheism, lumping peaceful authentic believers of all faiths together with political extremists who hijack religion as an excuse for their hatred and violence, as Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians do, everything else he has to offers outweighs his evangelical atheist religion. (Not all atheists make their opinions a religion, as he does.)
Bill Maher isn't ready to fork over a million dollars for Hillary Clinton's campaign, but would like to give her some advice on how to revive it. During this Friday's New Rules segment on HBO's Real Time, Maher told his audience that as much as he likes Bernie Sanders, he doesn't believe he's going to end up being the Democratic nominee, and expressed his concern over some of Clinton's recent poll numbers.

I think Hillary would prefer to have the cash. I do think she is likely to be the next President, unless she does not implode as a result of some scandal yet undefined. It’s way to early to start using it’s now, but Bill coined a perfect phrase to use to pick on her, after and if she’s elected: “The Wicked Witch of the West Wing.” LMAO!!

Bill's humor is always revitalizing. I doubt she'll take his advice over that of her current handlers.
Some of the generalities weren't all that bad. It was the specific examples which were outrageous, and of course that was what made the show so funny. Of course if Trump runs as a third party candidate, it won't matter who the Republicans OR the Democrats put up – he will split the right and that will be that. I know, it's not likely, though it is barely possible, and I can dream.

A Trump third candidacy is actually very likely. He almost certainly won't get the Republican nomination and going Ross Perot would keep him at the center of attention, which is what he loves. But even though that would guarantee our nominee the Presidency, it's not an ideal situation. Trump on the ballot would bring the knuckle-draggers to the polls in droves to vote for him — and that wouldn't be good for our state-level and Congressional candidates.
On a national level, it would be a dream come true, but Infidel makes a vwery valid point about state and local damage.
Infidel's point is excellent. I admit I hadn't thought it through that far. I wonder if there is some way that even that could be used, though. Hmmmm.

Hillary should take Maher's advise seriously. Looking in from the outside, it appears that Americans prefer entertainment above politics and rather watch Donald Trump offend every minority under the sun and then a majority (women) on top of that, than listen to her extensive plans. These are a defensive reaction anyway on issues that she has to respond to because Bernie brought something to the table, one of the clowns attacked her on or some important international deal has been forged. She's hawkish enough to be more on the offense and put some zing into her campaign.
The only thing she needs to avoid is another of Bill Maher suggestions: hubby Bill getting involved in another public affair. When the public has to decide on who they rather have in the White House as a first Lady/Gentleman(?), Trump's model wife or Hillary's lecherous old billy goat, then there's no doubt in my mind who America will go for.

Bill’s show last night was great! I love Bill Maher, even tho he does proselytize for the atheists a bit much, he is still funny to the core! And his show has been a great relief with Jon Stewart leaving.

TC, I hope you are right, because I am very doubtful. I hope Bernie will succeed, but the media is all ready using the "socialist" description, which still reeks of the McCarthy years. The press is hounding Hillary about her email accounts, never referring to the hundreds of thousands emails Dubya and Cheny sent from their private servers. The press treated her the same way last time she ran for the nomination. She is a strong woman, so therefore, a threat. She might take some of Bill's advice, but she would just be lambasted by the press for being "silly".
Bill is funny! But there is one thing that is not funny . . . the specter of a Republicanus/Teabaggerum POTUS with a like minded Congress. And the Republicanus/Teabaggerum will do everything in their power, including making up scandals, lying, deceit etc, to see that Hillary fails. As to Bill's advice . . . leave it at the curb! He needs to put his money where his mouth is!
