  1. thinking of you, sending you wishes of rest, relaxation, happiness, and health

  2. 4:42 average (still?) 4:44.  Feel up to catching fishies yet?

Of all the emails and things to sign on the marriage decision I find this one the most touching.  It's a request from Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff, to say thank you to all the couples who fought alongside him but whose names were never recognized as his was.

  3. The SCOTUS ruling being released with the anniversary of this genocide feels so appropriate.

  4. 3:03 I'm still running to get into one of those canoes.

  5. Cartoon ~ Appropriate that the ruling was issued on this day. Now there is no same-sex marriage, there is only marriage.

In hockey terms, Pres. Obama had a hell of a hat trick this week. The rulings on ACA, Marriage Equality and he sang Amazing Grace as part of Clementa's eulogy. He began it in E Flat. It doesn't get any bluesier than that.

  6. Puzzle — 2:50  I know sick Puddy Tats need to eat so I let you beat me.  Now you can catch fishies for dinner, but only this once.

Cartoon — Stonewall Inn?  I thought this was a reference to Confederate General Stonewall Jackson and the South Carolina debacle.  But I checked and it is a monument to the LGBTQ quest for rights and equality.  How appropriate that the Stonewall Inn should be recognised as a landmark at the time of the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, the SCOTUS marriage equality decision, and the 2015 NYC Pride Rally this weekend. http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/23/us/stonewall-inn-landmark-status/index.html

    Time to celebrate!

    • Glad you chose to learn about Stonewall, which some historians label genocide

      • I always choose to learn . . . keeps one educated, and always keeps one young!

        • Wise words and good to follow.  The research is also indicating the learning new things helps prevent memory loss and related cognitive issues.

      • I had to look it up too.  There is always a method to TC's cartoons so anything I don't recognize I immediately Google.  Well worth knowing.

        • I was too lazy to look it up, thanks to Lynn, I don't have to, but am glad to know this.

    • Thanks, Lynn, for the history lesson. Cartoon and lesson both were very appropriate.

    • I try to give you all an opportunity to learn whenewver I can.  It really helps to have people areund here that wan t to make the effort to learn.  I consider a day in which I learn nothing a wasted day!

  7. I hope you have contacted your doctor  by now, if you are still quite ill, you need medical help. We want you well.

    • And I hope the same doctor who gave the cortisone, just in case there is a connection.

    • I'm pretty sure my doctor is in vacation, but I am improving,  A lot of the symptoms relate to extreme heat and high humidity.  It almost alway sets off my COPD big time.  I am not running a fever.

  8. I thought you would be curled up round a couple of (well wrapped) hot water bottles TC!  If you get a clean towel and wrap it round a hot water bottle then it lasts much longer and doesn't do the painfully hot to revoltingly cold thing that they can otherwise do.   Cats do like them!

Listen to the others, and please don't let this turn into pneumonia! (Take your Vits and Mins – modern food is severely depleted in them, and to avoid viruses we need to get extra Vit C, zinc, Vits D3 and K2 [also vital combination for bone health and artery health], magnesium and B vits.  We also need probiotics as our immune system starts in the gastro-intestinal system, amazingly enough).

    • Hot water in this weather?!!?

      • Sorry – forgot you have different weather – at the time I wrote that we had temps of around 13 degrees C or around 60 degrees F – and if you are ill and the weather is like that you do need a hot water bottle!

  9. Take extra good care of yourself now, TomCat. With rising temperatures another bout of pneumonia is the last thing you need. Keep off of your paws as long as you need too; you'll be very much missed, but we can amuse eachother with links for a while, so not to worry.
