Will Jon Change His Mind?

I feel so sorry for Jon Stewart.  Here he is about to leave his job, just as the clown car of 2016 Republican candidates is growing so rapidly and idiotically that it promises to become a comedians’’ mother lode of epic proportions.  Watch him drool in anticipation.  The poor man is beside himself!

Since the last time Jon checked in on the increasingly sprawling Republican field for President, several more also-rans joined in: cherub Tennesse Williams character Lindsey Graham, frothy SEO disaster Rick Santorum, the forgotten George Pataki, and 19th century orientalist and cartoonishly evil corporate overlord Carly Fiorina. But one, in particular, Donald Trump, really gave the Daily Show host pause. After the Donald’s smug, trolly face came on screen, Stewart paused, bit his fist and exclaimed, "No, no I’ve made up my mind… God, maybe I’ll get a twitter account."

Let’s hope so!…

Laugh Bag Alert!!

I think I know how he feels.  I’m thinking about having bionic fingers implanted, because I fear this campaign will wear my natural ones down to stubs!!

  1. thank you for the laughs!

  2. While I also will miss Jon, and would love to have him continue, I fear he has got beyond the idea of going AWAY from something and is now in the process of going TO something – something really wonderful.  I would say the Twitter account thought is probably the best chance we have of getting his thoughts in the future.  That he might be able to handle.

But seriously – if you were in process to open up an animal sanctuary with a loving, compatible, equally enthusiastic spouse – would YOU backtrack?

  3. I have to agree with Dave  "Tom thanks for the laughs"  I was frist introduced to Jon Stewart by my son.  He will be missed. But just like alot of the light night shows "It is time to "Pay it Forward"

  4. My guess is that Jon will be bleeding from the mouth as he tries not to speak out on the Republicanus/Teabaggerum circus that is their list of potential presidential nominees.  Until I came to PP, I had never heard of Jon.  I was the poorer for it.  He is so funny, and usually spot on!

  5. Sorry – no video available to us here…  I too wish Jon Stewart would rethink his resignation.

  6. Thanks for the video, TomCat. The 2016 election is not going to be the same without Jon. The Republican candidates will do the utmost to entertain us, but nobody will have us in stitches like Jon does. I do wish he'd reconsider leaving until after the elections.

  7. 2016 is certainly shaping up to become one of our Darkest years in terms of elections. How much more room can there be in the Clown Car?

We can hope that Jon delays his retirement but I doubt it. He and his wife have already bought a Farm Sanctuary and she is running it by herself until he retires.

  8. I do wish he would stay for our sake, but the man deserves some peace.  Go or stay, it won't stop the morons and banana-butts.  The interesting part is that apparently there is not ONE single Republican  that is qualified or would make a decent president! In varying degrees, they are ALL awful…

  9. For those of you who cannot access Jon from the links provided, try this link from Hulu. It's free.

I'll miss Jon. I, too, want Jon around until after the 2016 elections.

  10. I fully sgree with you all.  Thanks for the link. Jim.

  11. We will all miss Jon, also Colbert.  Who can replace either of them?
