I’m about to leave to get the results of my MRI, so I’ll put in the Puzzle and the Cartoon now to save me time later and finish this when I return.

I’m back.  The MRI showed deterioration in my rotator cup, so my doctor is referring me to an osteopath to determine what treatment I need.  It was a very long day and I’m shot.  Hugs!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:33 (average 4:40).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Hope there's a nonsurgical option since rotator cuff surgery has more post-surgical pain than most surgeries.

  2. Best time yet but still not worth reporting…

  3. 4:26 average (still) 4:39.  When it's as cold as it is here, images like this don't make me feel warmer, but the opposite.  Sigh.

Sounds like you are halfway there.  You have the diagnosis.  Now you just need the treatment plan.  I'm kind of with JL on that one.  But, of course, …

    • thanks for the affirmation…yet if surgery is said to be inevitable, biting the bullet early may be advisable, too

  4. OMG! The "horrors" of a waiting room… lol.

  5. Hope your rotator cuff has a viable game plan for repair or restore.

My Mom (98 y/o) is out of ALL her meds after tomorrow, so I'm heading up to IL Friday morning to make a major pharmacy trek … and then refill her 10 week supply of weekly dispensers.  (She can do it,  but w/ her macular degeneration it makes he nervous.)

Will spend Memorial Day weekend up in IL, and take my aunt (87) to my uncle's (98) gravesite on Arsenal Island – a military burial site dating from the Civil War.  They put on quite a display for the main military holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July & Veterans' Day).  It's been a it over a year since my Mom (her brother) and I have been, so it'll be a nice stop.

Probably will be scarce around here, so "Keep Calm and Carry On" …

  6. Love the cat  in jail.  MOst  waiting rooms make you feel that way.

You might get by with physical therapy, wouldn't that be great?  I had the same problem about ten years ago,  did pt and got better, hope you do too.

  7. 3:22  There better be a really cool breeze coming in under that umbrella!  I hate the heat!  Today was 30 C (86 F) around my end of Metro Vancouver . . . yuck!

I don't envy you the rotator cuff issues.  I had problems with my left cuff several years ago but fortunately massage therapy fixed it good.  No more problems for now at least.  I went to my GP today re the infected cat bite.  It is still infected but looking better . . . only pale pink instead of red.  I finish the oral anti-biotics Saturday night, but if the leg is still pink and sore, it is back to more anti-biotics likely.

    • Sorry your leg is still infected, Lynn.

    • 3:44 I think I fell asleep under that beach umbrella.

    • Hope your leg continues to mend.  It took me THREE WEEKS of antibiotics (but just oral) to clear my feline cellulitis.

No direct rotator cuff problems, but I did have a third degree (they go up to 4) shoulder separation after being hit by a mail truck that ran right through a stop sign while I was biking.  (He didn't even slow down for the sign.)  That's why I now ONLY use my stationary bike.  (I can do it whenever I want, and it doesn't matter WHAT the weather is like.)

    • Keep mending!

  8. Sorry about your rotator cuff TC, but like the rest I hope you can get some physio to improve it….

  9. I have a P.S. today – it's not really a quiz because that would be too easy – it's just comparisons – but the title made me LOL.  The article is probably preaching to the choir, but could be a handy reference in a pinch.

Great comments.  Nameless, we'll miss you, but enjoy.  Lynn, Pat, and everyone else, get BETTER!  TC, I will speculate no further till after you have seen your DO.

  10. I have problems with my right rotator cuff and physical therapy seems to help when I remember to do it. I went for PT 10 weeks in succession 17 years ago and remmber what the exercises are because I have to keep going back to them whenever I experience a flare-up from overexertion.

  11. My husband tore his rotator cuff years ago and they fixed it right up. But, west and year is a while different animal. Hope they have some neat stuff to make your life easier! Things are a lot different from when he had his done. That was at least 20 years ago.
Good luck, TC! Can’t wait till you get better!

  12. Thanks all.  Very swamped.  Very pooped.  Hugs!
