Here are the results of our “Better-off Party” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority.

Our Polling Host no longer allows us to copy and paste your comments made when taking the poll.  To read them, click here.

I voted Democratic.  While I normally think that a variety of ideas is preferable to one person’s agenda, the Republican Party has no real variety of ideas, just a variety of fools, all goose-stepping to the same set of failed policies, for $billions from the 0.1%, and for approval from the rabid base, immersed in hatred for all but white, pseudo-Christian males.

The new poll is up.  Please don’t forget to vote.

  1. Now that Bernie is in the race, I think it may be a little more interesting and our Democratic party is still better off.

  2. Bernie makes a huge difference indeed in my views, too, Patty

  3. Well it' looking up  It would be sad if Clinton had no competition.  I voted neither

  4. I voted neither, also. But I didn’t know Bernie was going to run. Now that he is running, things might get exciting now!

  5. I think that I voted neither, because I thought Hillary had too much baggage to win.  Glad that Bernie is running, he will change the scenery.

  6. I wrote: "IF Hillary openly & enthusiasticly embraces the Warren Wing, publicly lists her ideal Cabinet posts, and Demands the Democratic Party push ONLY Liberal/Progressive candidates we'd have another landslide! Obama needs to campaign with her & she needs a Sanders or Grayson or ANY real Liberal to be her VP! Hillary is a strong (sometimes too much) woman & I still trust her more than ANY RepubliCON alive (everyone liked Ike for a reason..; ) "

  7. "Neither! Once the Republicanus /Teabaggerum nominees are chopped down to one person, the party will rally behind that person.
With Hillary, a lack of competition with progressive values, could be her undoing if she is not at least challenged informally to be more progressive.
In terms of winning 2016, progressives MUST get out the vote."

Now that Bernie has thrown his hat into the ring, I would say that the Democrats are better off.  But that is no reason to rest on their laurels.  They have to take the fight to the Republicanus/Teabaggerum and keep attacking!  The other issue of course is getting the sheeple away from Faux Noise, that bastion of right wing propaganda and ignorance.

  8. Now that Bernie is in the competition for the Dem nomination, perhaps he will inspire the Democratic politicians to actually make speeches that inspire the voters (and, please God, speeches that they actually mean!) – speeches with principles, foresight, care and compasssion!  The Democrats have spent decades veering to the Right and becoming more Repuglican (hence the Blue Dogs), perhaps Bernie can drag them back to compassion and principles again.  Hillary has to stop pandering to big business, especially GMOs and fracking!

  9. Thanks all.  Of course, Bernie was in the race only for the last day of the poll.
