Yesterday’s attempt to return to blogging did not go well.  The site where I share articles for wider distribution can be buggy at times.  Yesterday it fought me for an hour t0 upload the articles.  Then it failed to deliver the notifications I sent to over 200 people.  Later, the electrical outlet for my refrigerator failed.  Getting at it took over two hours of hard work, and it turned out to be the only outlet in my unit that does not have an internal circuit breaker.  Fortunately my groceries did not spoil.  So I’m beginning the day behind the curve.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:34 (average 4:30).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube: RWW News: Bryan Fischer Says Indiana’s Law Prevents Discrimination Against Christians

Barf Bag Alert!!

This is an example of the lies that Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians are being taught about this Republican hate-law.

From Nextgen Climate: Watch and share this video if you think climate change denial is ridiculous!

Were this to be played on the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, the sheeple would accept it as factual.

From NY Times: Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey was indicted on bribery charges on Wednesday in what prosecutors said was a scheme to trade political favors for luxury vacations, golf outings, campaign donations and expensive flights.

The indictment, the first federal bribery charges against a sitting senator in a generation, puts Mr. Menendez’s political future in jeopardy. He faces a possible sentence of 15 years in prison for each of the eight bribery counts.

Mr. Menendez, a Democrat, angrily denied wrongdoing and vowed to fight the charges. “This is not how my career is going to end,” he said at a news conference in Newark, where supporters cheered him. “Today contradicts my public service career and my entire life.”

The federal investigation into Mr. Menendez, 61, was well known, and charges had been expected. But the accusations in the 68-page indictment are much broader and more severe than had been publicly known. The senator was also charged with conspiracy and making false statements.

For the good of the party and the nation, Menendez should step down immediately. That said, I have long thought he should be challenged in the primary, because he acts more like a Republican in other ways too.

  1. 4:12 average 4:30.  I'm already cold, thanks.

YouTube – We all understand DINO and RINO.  I assert Brian Fischer is a ChINO (Christian In Name Only.)  And there are way too many ChINOs out there.

NextGen Climate: – The production values are so good it would indeed be accepted as factual by Repubs.

NY Times – Petition to call on him to resign immediately at:
    http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/senators-menendez-should?source=s.fwd&r_by=973201

Incidentally, a couple other petitions, kind of off beat, but I thought worthy:
To established a Reserve within the Amazon Basin to help preserve it: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/amazon_corridor_dn_b/?cddiudb  (TC, I know you don't sign avaaz, that's fine.  I have had no problems with them myself.)
Justice for a worker drowned in a pool of manure on the job:  http://action.ufw.org/wpsepa

Cartoon – They found a woman of color and didn't call her Miss Begotten?  Wonders will never cease.

    • Thanks JD for the petitions.  They even let this Canuck sign, but don't tell anyone.

    • Sounds like you had a really rough day.  I hope today was better.

Barf Bag Alert:  Sorry, I couldn't stand to watch the whole video.  Blatant discrimination against anyone who did not have your Right Wing Christian belief was the sole intent of this law.  The shortest verse in the Bible is "Jesus Wept".  I am sure he is weeping these days.

Nextgen Climate:  I am afraid to share this on FB for my blue friends because my red friends would think it is true!

NY Times:  I agree with you, Menendez should step down, but I bet he won't.

Cartoon:  Oh, these are too good.

    • I signed all three petitions.

    • In regards to the Menendez petition at MoveOn :  Victory! The creator of this petition declared the campaign a success. You can still sign the petition to show support.

I already signe the Avaaz petition yesterday. Today I signed the petition to the EPA.

    • Thanks Joanne.  I signed two, but I won't go to Avaaz , because of relentless spam from them and their partners.

      • I know you won't, and I am cool with that.  (I even said so.)  It's funny the different experiences people have with different sites.  I expect operating systems and browsers (both the type and the version) have something to do with it.  But you should absolutely stay off avaaz.  It clearly does not work for you.

  2. 3:00  I have a feeling I rested in the deck chair a little too long.

  3. CA has a prison in Chino where Fischer might find folks who share his world views. I signed them all Joanne.

I once had similar refrigerator outlet trouble and spent a couple months running a heavy duty extension chord to a less troublesome outlet during diagnostics.  Lots of transactions got dumped to never surface yesterday.

    I do believe I see airbrushing…

  4. Well, it's being reported that Pres. Obama and Sec. Kerry along w/ our allies have structured a nuclear agreement with Iran.  (Sorry, Bibi and your Rethuglican neocon friends – your hope for WAR will have to wait a bit.)

Just a couple of weeks ago Ted "I'm-Canadian-but-Dad-Fought-for-Castro" Cruz terrified  a little 3 y/o girl with screeching "Your world is on FIRE!"

And today, following the Iran nuclear breakthrough, we had John Boehner reiterate the point that "The world is on fire!"

It's getting to look like that for Rethuglicans, when tho only tool you have is gasoline, EVERYTHING looks like a fire.

Also pretty clear that since Pres. Obama and Sec. Kerry (Hat Tip for you hard work) can forge a framework agreement with the most hard-headed, obstinate, intransigent Ayatollah and mullahs in Iran – but not with Rethuglicans from America – that Obama is NOT the problem.

    • "Also pretty clear that since Pres. Obama and Sec. Kerry (Hat Tip for you hard work) can forge a framework agreement with the most hard-headed, obstinate, intransigent Ayatollah and mullahs in Iran – but not with Rethuglicans from America – that Obama is NOT the problem."

      Amen!!! Nameless, AMEN!!!!!

    • See today's lead article.

  5. Cartoon: Certainly not my kind of women. lol.

  7. NextGen Climate – I do think that April Fools is really dangerous due to the lack of functioning and connected neurons in the brains of the Right Wing – but I did like the Russian polar bear trainer!

  8. PS sorry your day was so rough – lots of people are still having problems uploading news items to C2 – it isn't just you TC, honest!  (I'm glad you got your fridge problem sorted out – what an odd thing to happen…). I hope you could rest after your labours.

  9. Puzzle — 2:45  I've got the sun screen!  What makes you think you rested too long Jerry?

YouTube — JLA, you're talking about hot "air brushing" of  Bryan Fischer, right?  Agree JD . . . CHino sounds appropriate to me.  He is a HATER of the first order!  As Mahatma Gandhi said: "Jesus is ideal and wonderful, but you Christians – you are not like him."  This especially applies to the right wing evangelical supply-side pseudo Christians.

Nextgen Climate — The Reich Ministry of Propaganda aka Fox would love this bit of satire.  They'd sell it to the sheeple as truth, and the sheeple would buy it!

NY Times — Do do the crime, you do the time!  I don't care what party a politician represents, if the politician is guilty of corruption, or even has the smell of corruption about him, then he should step down immediately until the situation is resolved.  But I have to ask: What's up in New Jersey that it has a steady string of corrupt politicans . . . Democrat, Harrison A. Williams Jr., Democrat, Senator Robert G. Torricelli, Republicanus/Teabaggerum Chris Christie, now Menendez?

Cartoon — . . . and quite apparently, these ladies are all big on Republicanus/Teabaggerum family values too!

Here is an April Fool's article. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/04/01/april-fools-day-jokes-201_n_6988218.html

The piece about a cruiseship terminal in Port Moody really is an April Fool's.  This picture of Rocky Point is near  the end of Burrard Inlet, about 5 blocks from my house.  It is amusing to me because the park at the pier looks just like this but a boat launch just out of picture often runs high and dry when the tides go out.  In the foreground you can see the muddy water.  There is no way that a cruiseship bigger than 10 metres is going to Port Moody, and only then when the tides are high enough.  Talk about scraping the keel!

    • I liked the Police Puttycats

But even w/ CC, I don't get what the "N" and "L" signs designated at Simon Fraser U "No Text" YouTube

      • N = New

        L = Learner

These are the two designations before you get your full drivers' license.  An 'L' is a learner, and an 'N' has the drivers' license but it has restrictions like max 1 passenger, no alcohol (zero tolerance for any even if below the legal limit), and lasts at least a year unless there have been infractions like speeding.  Then the time is extended.  If a new driver is found with even a minute amount of alcohol, the license can be suspended or cancelled.

  10. You had quite the time of it yesterday. Don't push yourself!

YouTube ~ I like the term CHINO. Good one, Joanne! That is truly what he and his ilk are.

    Nextgen Climate ~ Bazinga!

NY Times ~ He has stepped down from his leadership positions but I agree that he should step down. The problem with his resignation is Chris Christie is Gov. of NJ. As Gov., he has the option to appoint a new Senator or schedule a special election. That's a scary thought. I don't trust any of his decisions.

Cartoon ~ All the Clowns are chasing these beauties.

  11. Thanks everyone.  Hugs.  I'm pushing, but not too hard.
