Hi all.  Even though my helper friend dis most of the work yesterday, it still really took it out of me.  I’m staying down.  I hope to have a holiday message tomorrow, even though I won’t feel up to it.  Hugs to all.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:40 (average 6:10).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. 5:23 average 6:15 when I did it.  Hungry enough to eat insects?

Our friend Carrie B sent this around earlier this week (sorry it's so long but if I shorten it I find I have to log in):

Gee, TC, do you think he's thinking about you? The – um – dog!

Cartoon – I didn't realize the Rethugs liked any kind of power that doesn't require digging it out of the ground with the sid of poisons.  But, if so, yes, that's it.

    • Yes. Paul Ryan would say this.

    • That Paul Ryan quote is directly inspired by the insipid selfishness creed he inhaled from reading Ayn Rand.

And if you don't think Paul Ryan just luvs him some Ayn Rand in a – uhmmmm"special way" – just check his copy of "Atlas Shrugged" …. you'll find quite a few pages are stuck together.

    • Ryan is such an idiot.

    • Thanks Joanne – he is one step away from advocating that the poor all queue up to have 'showers' to reduce the numbers it seems – or perhaps just letting people starve in ghettos – what a vile and horrible apology for a human being!

  2. Joanne, that was great! Thanks for the laugh! I suppose that he would have all of the poor euthanized, just like stray cats, too! What an idiot! Can’t stand that poop-stain!
Hope the road to recovery is paved with a SMOOTH surface! You really need to get well, SOON!
Thanks for all you do! We all stand together to fight these ignorant repuglikkants!

  3. 3:48  JD, that Puddy Tat isn't going to get this butterfly!  Hungry he stays!  Dang, am I starting to sound like Lyin' Ryan?

  4. 3:15 I fluttered by you this time. Where are Lynn and Jerry?

  5. I was proud the voters were sufficiently informed of the related public health risks that they chose to shut down Rancho Seco in June 1989.

Cartoon — Three Mile Island 1979 rated 5, Chernobyl 1986 rated 7, and Fukushima 2011 rated 7 — you think humanity would have learned by now that nuclear is not that great, especially when the total effects of disasters are measured against lives lost, property and economic damage.  The ratings are from the International Nuclear Event Scale, with 7 being the highest rating.  Although there have been marvellous advances in medicine attributable to the nuclear industry.  This is one area where there can be no short cuts in safety, training, staffing etc which is a hallmark of the Republicanus/Teabaggerum corporate agenda of profits before people.  Another environmental, but not nuclear, disaster that comes to mind is Love Canal, near Niagara Falls, NY in the 1970's. Another case of a corporate agenda run amok!

  7. Tomorrow's a holiday?

  8. Keep taking care of yourself.

Cartoon: And that is why I will never agree that nuclear power is a good idea.

  9. Cartoon – I agree with Edie (and probably everyone here) – it is for those reasons as Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima (and many more) that nuclear power is a disaster.  Bring on the renewables!

  10. BTW – I am sure that everyone here is well educated enough to know that Fukushima is still ongoing – every day around 300 tons of highly irradiated water is discharged into the sea – and if another earth movement or some other disaster happens it will be a disaster as we have never known. Please God that it is averted.

  11. 36 Years of Three Mile Island’s Lethal Lies … and Still Counting

The lies that killed people at Three Mile Island 36 years ago on March 28, 1979 are still being told at Chernobyl, Fukushima, Diablo Canyon, Davis-Besse … and at TMI itself.

As the first major reactor accident that was made known to the public is sadly commemorated, and as the global nuclear industry collapses, let’s count just 36 tip-of-the iceberg ways the nuclear industry’s radioactive legacy continues to fester:

  12. Thanks all.  Hugs!
