Here’s the truth.  I was to tired that I slept through the Obama Town Hall.  Normally I would post the video and do the analysis for you.  But, since I don’t have time to watch the video, let alone do analysis, we’re doing it different today.  I’ll post the video, and you analyze it for me.

There it is.  What say you?

  1. The video here is 11:52 out of 54:50.  Full video at

I went looking for a transcript because Obama's appearances, on topics where he's right, generally can be analyzed by saying, "Yep.  He's right."  Instead I foud the longer video, whoch I haven't seen yet because I have errands too.  Sorry.

  2. THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW 2/25/15
Obama pushes ahead on immigration reform
José Díaz-Balart talks with Rachel Maddow about highlights from President Obama's town hall in which the president emphasized his intention to press forward with his plans for immigration reform, and took shots at Republicans for blocking progress.

  3. Given my hearing deficit, I can't comment directly …

BUT it sounds from reports that the "New & Unleashed" Pres. Obama is enjoying kicking some butt!

Watch the full video of President Barack Obama’s town hall on immigration reform, hosted by msnbc’s Jose Diaz-Balart.

On YouTube. Turn on the CC and watch.

      • Thanks.  This one is a pretty good CC – not uncommon in shows that are taped & they have time to do it correctly.

But real-time CC (which is most) is pretty spotty at best.  But often quite hilarious w/ their malapropisms.

  4. I'm short on time as are many eligible for DACA and DAPA who shouldn't have to wait any longer for some security.

  5. I watched the video posted.  He said what he has been saying all along.  Those who have been here a long time and are working or living legally, or those who are parents of Legal citizens, will be given a chance to stay here legally, that the focus is on criminals and gang members.  He also said if the suit the House votes to declare act illegal, that he will veto their vote.  I hope he sticks to his plan.

  6. TY TC.

  7. Thanks Jim for the link to the entire Town Hall.

As I listened, several times I could hear in my mind "Obama balls"!  He talked forcefully, directly to issues, and he took the time to explain some legal terms like prosecutorial discretion.  As Edie said, he repeated what he has been saying all along.  Obama challenged John Boehner to put questions to the vote, and then promised to veto them. He challenged Jebby's stated position on immigration by saying that he should work on members of the Republicanus/Teabaggerum to pass immigration reform.  Obama also talked about turnout at the midterms and about everybody's responsibility to vote.

One thing I noticed is that some of the people asking questions appeared to be referencing very specific situations that Obama would not have had answers to.  He handled those fairly well, even to promising to have an official look into the specific details of the last person.

  8. Pit stop today.  Back Tomorrow.
