A Pledge to Commit TEAbuggery

Can you tell me how many times I’ve said, “Thou shalt not commit TEAbuggery!”?  I can’t either, but it’s way more than a pants load.  However, I came across a list of the things from which Baggers must abstain if they actually practice what they preach.  They should take the pledge.

Daily Kos readers are awesome and send awesome emails:

I, ________________________, do solemnly swear to uphold the principles of a socialism-free society and heretofore pledge my word that I shall strictly adhere to the following:

I will complain about the destruction of 1st Amendment Rights in this country, while I am duly being allowed to exercise my 1st Amendment Rights.

I will complain about the destruction of my 2nd Amendment Rights in this country, while I am duly being allowed to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights by legally but brazenly brandishing unconcealed firearms in public.

I will foreswear the time-honored principles of fairness, decency, and respect by screaming unintelligible platitudes regarding tyranny, Nazi-ism, and socialism at public town halls.  Also.

I pledge to eliminate all government intervention in my life.  I will abstain from the use of and participation in any socialist goods and services including but not limited to the following:

  • Social Security
  • Medicare/Medicaid
  • State Children’s Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP)
  • Police, Fire, and Emergency Services
  • US Postal Service
  • Roads and Highways
  • Air Travel (regulated by the socialist FAA)
  • The US Railway System
  • Public Subways and Metro Systems…

Upon reaching eligible retirement age, I will tear up my socialist Social Security checks.

Upon reaching age 65, I will forego Medicare and pay for my own private health insurance until I die…

I’ve shared just a small part of the list.  Click through for the rest of what Baggers must do to be real.  Do you think they’ll take the pledge and abide by it?  I don’t.  The few who are bright enough to actually understand its implications are just Republican hypocrites.

  1. So, so true.  I was trying to visualize them actually doing this and it boggled my mind.
I suspect they wouldn't actually have to tear up any SS checks.  I'm pretty sure you have to apply for it.  Medicare they are automatically placed on.  I have retirement coverage from a former employer since before I was 65, and when I hit 65, Medicare documents came automatically, and the retirement insurer sent me a letter saying I couldn't have primary coverage now that I was Medicare eligible, although I would stil have secondary coverage from them.  Part A is free, but you have to pay premiums for Parts B and higher, so they would lose it if they didn't pay the premiums.
I do so wish they would all read this, at least those who can read.

    • I now know more about health insurance than I ever wanted to know but, I sure am glad to have a basic understanding of it now. Tampa General Hospital treid to charge my wife 13 hundred dollars for an out-patient procedure that didn't even go as planned… I know that this isn't even legal as payments were made via Medicare and ChampVA which pays all allowable due…

  2. Is that why WalMart's clothes are made in China?

  3. They are the bigots! They need to read this pledge and see how many of them they could stick to! Not one, I bet!

  4. Oh, the Republicanus/Teabaggerum would never take that pledge, but they'll hold the paper while the average American citizen signs the pledge.  They've been doing that for the past 6 years, minimum!

  5. I shared this on Facebook, would love to see my red friends faces as they read it.  I cannot get Care2 to open tonight so I won't be able to comment there.

  6. Glorious list TC, many thanks – surely one of the main characteristics of those people is utter, complete, brazen hypocrisy, which enables them to perform horrendous actions whilst preaching that the Democrats are really doing them ….  and moaning about the 'socialist' (ie communist) things like health care and social security or federal aid whilst cashing in every cheque they can get their sticky little mitts on.

(Sorry – but I hate that cartoon – it looks very nasty – poor cat!).

    • The cartoon serves as a reminder of what "teabagging" actually is and how stupid Baggers were to use that term to describe what they do.

  7. The Tea Baggers pledge is to use these services but make sure the government look like its giving them to the poor, while making them look free loaders.  How ironic

  8. You forgot one. Thou shalt commit lobbyist/politician fornication.

Maybe that's only in North Carolina.
