Here are the results of our “Satisfaction with Legislators” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority.

There is no right answer here, because we all have different legislators.  I voted mostly satisfied.  I’m thrilled with Jeff Merkley quite happy with Earl Blumenauer. The only reason I’m not completely satisfied is that on Rare occasion, Ron Wyden tries to reach across the aisle and gives up too much.  Republicans then present his concessions as his position, even though they never actually make the deal.  He has suckered for that ploy, and they have used him for propaganda, about half a dozen times over the last few years.

I am more satisfied than most, I see.

The new poll is up and ready for your votes.  Stay in practice.

  1. Well, TC, I had to vote “Completely Dissatisfied”. But, I live in OK and it’s a given that anyone that is slightly liberal leaning here are to be stoned in the town square! I’m just one of the VERY FEW Democrats in this state! One of these days, I’m going to migrate to a Blue-r state. Like Colorado! LOL!

    • And I want to change my vote to “Do Not Attend”. Attending would give Ben a chance to say that there was a full Senate, without mentioning that some turned their backs to him! And to have to suffer thru his speech would be akin to torture!

    • Yes, Colorado is blue-er than Oklahoma.  But not by much, especially some parts of it.  ALEC owns many legislators.

  2. It looks like "completely dissatisfied " was the winner, or should I have said loser.

  3. I voted mostly satisfied. I live in a pretty progressive state.

  4. "OK, so I don't have a congresscritter! I am a Canuck and have a Member of Parliament, James Moore. He is one of Harper's harlots and holds a cabinet post. I have voted against him every time but it seems there are a bunch of Conservatives around me. I am mostly dissatisfied with him. "

Moore, one of Harper's golden harlots, is industry minister and a member of the Privy Council.  He is so conservative that the creases down the front of his trouser legs snap to attention!  I find him somewhat short tempered and very condescending based on several e-mails I have received in response to petitions.

When we talk election spending here, well let's just say we have nothing on the Congress Critters.  Moore's campaign spending was as follows: 2011 – $83,988.73, 2008 – $76,521.14, 2006 – $73,294.85, 2004 – $65,906, and 2000 – $59,661.  And he won every one of these elections with anywhere from 41% of the vote to 56% of the vote.  Don't you wish that Congress Critters had spending like that?

    •  What's more, he is straight partyline . . . as I said, Harper's golden harlot!

    • Lynn, you know more about American government than most Americans.  You should have your Personal congress critter.

      • Funny that you should say that . . . when I need an American zip, I use 98111 Seattle WA which is just across the border from Metro Vancouver.  Congress Critter is Democrat Jim McDermott who I have been familiar with for years.  He was just in one of TC's shorttakes within the past week or so.

  5. I think I voted on the fence–senators I'm usually satisfied with but rarely with my rep.

  6. I voted completely dissatisfied, per my comment on the poll, look who I have to represent me,, McTurtle and Idiot, son of Idiot.

  7. Completely satisfied.

All three of my Congresscritters are California Democrats. Senator Barbara Boxer, a leading progressive advocate for women's and human rights, is my favorite. She is retiring in 2016. Already a battleground as who will take her place is sizing up. Senator Diane Feinstein has been right up there on many issues. Representative Mike Thompson is also very decent on many issues. All three of them live in the Northern San Francisco Bay Area including Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi. All four of them have their office within an hours drive from Sonoma.

  8. I am so glad that some of you have good Congresspeople – I couldn't vote as I don't have any – but I am so sorry for those 'represented' by some of the nastier ones!

  9. As I said, there was no right answer.  Some, like Poor Edie's,  were more obvious than other.

I would have had no problem if out beloved aliens has substituted their MPs.
