There are a lot of fireworks and fog horns and the pounding of pots that are terrifying my kids! I'm off to bed to calm them down. Good night!

(Like Lynn we had lots of fireworks – but on a rather extended timeframe so they went on sporadically for an hour and then we had drunken revellers staggering down the street for a couple more hours). My rescue cat was not very happy – but a herbal plug-in 'cat calmer' (I can't recall what they call it – but I have tried the pheremonal ones and they have never worked for my cats) does wonders for her – and my rescue dog was to my surprise as calm as could be!
