I’m writing for tomorrow, day 83.  I made it home yesterday feeling quite wilted and very sore, because of all the walking, after the therapist put me through a workout.  It was very hot outside, but I took frequent rests and swallows from my water bottle.  I got very little sleep because of muscle pain, but I felt too tired to do research.  Today will be worse, because I will be walking further in the hotter part of a hotter day.  In fact the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through the 15th.  I hope I can recover sufficiently to research and write tomorrow for Monday.  On a more positive note, I got some good news.  My ID card that allows me to move within the prison without staff supervision to do my volunteer work is in and I can pick it up on my next volunteer day there. Thumbs up

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:34 (average 4:26).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Thank goodness it’s cool inside!

  1. 4:31  I do know they can be vicious, manipulative, back-stabbing Republicans, but I still look at that and want to say, "Aaaw!  Little angel!" and flirt with him.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new ID card!  We all knew it was a foregone conclusion, but waiting can be a pain.  Congratulations too on Day 83.  I think it's a pretty good guess that now is when it really starts to get tough.

It's a pity that being the Cool Cat we all know you are doesn't always translate into temperature, especially during a heat advisory.  Good thing you have a good air conditioner.  I must have missed something – where do you have to venture on a Sunday?  (If it's none of our business, just ignore the question.)

  2. 3:56 Just a mere TomCat beat me.

    • 3:31  I love meerkats.  They are way too cute.  It looks like my hands might be healing a bit based on my time!  My right hand is still very blue and a bit stiff along the pinky and next finger but the pain is almost gone. My left hand is another matter.  The worst puncture is on my index finger at the 1st knuckle.  Every bend drives me nuts, but at least not as nuts as a Republicanus/Teabagger!

  3. Rest well today.

Congrats on your new-found freedom in the prison via your new ID card. I'm sure it will help a lot in your work with the men there.

  4. That cat is so relaxed he might fall off the sofa.

I hope you got some rest today.  Stay home if you can and stay cool.  It was 95 here today, but I got to stay inside.

  5. Forgot to add, congratulations on your prison pass.  that should make things a little easier.

  6. Yesterday, meteorologists put us on a heat alert with temps going to 35 C (95 F) in the lower mainland and 42 C (108 F) in the interior around Osoyoos/Penticton/Kelowna this week, and possibly next week.  I can very much "feel your pain" having to do physio in this heat.  And add the walk etc on top of that . . . please be careful and rest if you can.  At least I can get into my air conditioned car for a bit.  The cats aren't too happy with this heat either.

Great news on your prison pass!  That will likely make doing your volunteer work a lot easier.
