Mississippi Runoff

The Republican primary race in Mississippi hast to be one of the weirdest I can remember.  Despite criminal involvement in a scheme to videotape the incumbents wife in a nursing home, and an attempt to steal votes, when his staffers found themselves locked in the courthouse, the Tea Bagger challenger, Chris McDaniel is the favorite.  The incumbent is so desperate he wants black Democrats to vote in the Republican runoff election.  Now the Tea Bagger is calling in poll watchers to intimidate the black people, but as Rachel Maddow will show, the election could come down to animal passion.

The U.S. Justice Department says it’s keeping a close eye on a plan by conservatives to send poll-watchers to Mississippi for the state’s U.S. Senate race Tuesday—a “voter integrity” project that’s sparking fears of intimidation and racial profiling. And now, Mississippi’s attorney general and secretary of state are chiming in, too.

“The department is aware of concerns about voter intimidation and is monitoring the situation,” a Justice Department spokesperson told msnbc. “Voters that experience problems are encouraged to call 1-800-253-3931.”

An array of conservative groups supporting Chris McDaniel, including the Senate Conservatives Fund, the Tea Party Patriots, and True the Vote have said they’re sending poll-watchers to the state amid reports [Breitfart delinked] that some Mississippi Democratic operatives are working to turn out black Democrats in support of McDaniel’s opponent, Sen. Thad Cochran. The poll-watching effort is being organized in part by Christian Adams, a former Bush Justice Department lawyer who has long sought to publicize claims of voter fraud and illegal voting…

Inserted from <MSNBC>

Mississippi poll watchers have a history of wearing sheets and carrying guns.

Rachel Maddow discussed the race, and focused on animal magnetism.

From the laughter Cochran received, it’s clear that those Republicans knew exactly what he was talking about.  Given this sexual proclivity of these Republican politicians, sheeple should be getting very nervous long about now. Surprised smile  I guess Republican romance is BA-A-A-A-A-AD!!

Late Update: Cochran won.  The sheep are thrilled!

  1. Apparently McDaniel tweeted: "Before this race ends we have to be certain that the Republican primary was won by Republican voters. — @senatormcdaniel"  Overconfident much?

CO:  Lamborn won his primary 53-47.  Now if only that 47% was OUR 47% 😉 and would vote for Halter in the general, we could get that toad out of Congress.  But I'm not holding my breath.

  2. Well, there's the sound bite if Cochran ever supports an anti-gay bill.  Hey, you do your thing and I'll do mine.

Seriously, McDaniel apparently isn't taking defeat very well.  The Republicans now have a Senate candidate who owes his political survival to black Democrats, the base is royally pissed off (based on the outraged, er, bleating at RedState), and black voters have shown they're not so easy to intimidate.  Not really a good outcome for the Repubs all round.  They're probably feeling a bit like one of Joni Ernst's hogs.

  3. MS: With just about every precinct reporting, Cochran narrowly edged McDaniel, 50.8% to 49.2%. About 6,000 votes separated the two.

  4. It looks bad for us so far.

Teabagger Tenney lost to incumbent RepublicanT hanna here in my district in NY. There is no challenger to his seat in the November election thus far. Too bad!

  5. What the hell do they put in the water down in Mississippi?  Seems to me that Cochran should be in an institution for the criminally insane with an admission like that.  I sure hope there is a good and strong Democrat looking to kick Cochran to the curb.  It is time for the "good ol' boy" to retire.

  6. Not sure what to say about this one.  They didn't have much to choose from, but at least another Teabagger won't be in DC.

  7. Thanks all Rushing.  See Today's Cartoon.

    Yeah, A Pig humper… 😈
