  1. Happy Mother's Day!

  2. Happy Mothers Day to everyone – parent and not!  I had a lovely ecard from Lynn S pointing out that many people were mothers – some with children, some without, and in various kinds of marriage and none – it was such a brilliant card – thanks Lynn!

  3. Yep, even those of us who didn't have great mothers probably had somebody – a relative, a teacher, a good friend – that filled the role for us.  And, of course, if you have pets, you're a mom.  So, thank you, TomCat, for the beautiful kittycat and the good wishes – Happy Mom's Day to all!

  4. Good comments above… Enjoy Your Mother's Day – 2014. Hugzzz…

  5. Happy Mother's Day to All You Moms!

I'm treating my 97 y/o Mom and 85 y/o aunt to a Mother's Day Brunch at the fancy-schmancy restaurant in town.  My aunt (who lives out in the country) still drives, so she'll come into to town and pick Mom up after church.

Two years ago when I went up to Illinois for Thanksgiving, I took them out to the same restaurant's Thanksgiving Brunch – and it was spectacular!  They'll have a great time.

  6. Thank you all, and Happy Mothers' Day!

  7. Ahh, thank you, TC!! I appreciate it, ever so much! I haven’t heard from my kids. But they will be along sometime today.
And to ALL Mothers, may your day be spent picking the best part from many of the delights you have today, and having a hard time doing it!!!
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, two-legged and four-legged, finned and feathered!!

  8. Happy Mother's Day!!!

I chose this card because all the attributes of being a mother are not gender specific, just as all mothers are not female. We have two moms/two dads, we have single dads that fit the mothering role, we have single men and women, and of course we have "traditional" moms. Mothering is a state of mind, a state of loving and compassion that is owned by people of both genders.

So, however you see yourself, celebrate your mothering side.

And let's not forget our fur babies either.

My 3 cats gave me a wonderful Mother's Day gift . . . they were quiet and didn't try to wake me even though their little tummies were probably saying "I'm hungry!  Feed me!"

  9. Thanks, TC.  I had a great Mother's day.  My son, who lives 800 miles away, called and we talked for an uninterrupted hour, very rare.  I spent the afternoon with my sister and mother.  I am so grateful to have both of them in my life.  My husband bought me two beautiful plants to put on the front porch, nothing could please me more.  Being a mother has been the best job I ever had. Of course, my kittens are my children, too.  Oreo was especially good today.

  10. I'm glad so many had such a great day.
