I’m writing for tomorrow.  I feel like crap.  Here’s something unusual.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:42 (average 4:47).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube: The Republicans’ Poverty Agenda: To Make More People Poor

Republicans love poverty almost as much as they hate Obama.

From YouTube: Oops? Tax Increases & the Economy SOARED!

As long as most media parrot Republican lies, without documenting the proof they are lies, far too many voters are deceived.

From YouTube: Senate Democrats Push For Help To Unemployed

The war on poverty was an overwhelming success, decreasing poverty 43%, until Republicans defunded the programs and made increasing poverty a key part of their national agenda. You won’t find a better explanation of this issue than this video. Kudos to Jeff Merkley. Oregon leads the way.

  1. 4:52  I misread the title, thought it said "doorstop."

Short Takes:  Nothing really new.  So clearly explained that no one can possibly misunderstand.  So, of course, voters will. To be fair, that's because they won't hear this but will hear Faux spin instead.  May I say it again?   GET. OUT. THE. VOTE.

Cartoon:  Is that a Cat Genie?  Do you actually have one?  If so, how does it work?

  2. I saw some of this on the news. I lost interest in what most were saying, it's easy to knock something, but far more difficult to offer real ideas for the country. LBJ's war on poverty is factually by the numbers a success, ideologically some are forced to oppose. I'm still waiting to hear what Rand Paul, Marco Rubio or any of these people would offer. Just like with Obama care, "It's a train wreck" we hear over and over, but I have yet to hear a counter solution. Some republicans think we need an open market between states that allows people to "shop" for the best and most affordable insurance. How could that work? That is Obama care.

Easy to criticize, but a counter plan for anything? That is a waiting game.

I empathize TC, this flu is miserable. Stay in bed, lots of fluids and feel better

  3. I hope you feel better soon.

Republican Poverty Agenda;  I shared this on Facebook, really trying my Repub. friends nerves, but they need to watch it.  I am so steamed over the unemployment extension, I don't care who I make mad.

Tax Increases:  Newt's prediction in 1993 came back and bit him in the butt.  I hope the same thing happens to those in office now who are doing the same predictions.   The media is reporting the Repub. predictions because most of them are just talking heads.  We have very few real journalists anymore.

Rachel Maddow:  LBJ took a brave step and helped millions out of poverty.  You are right, TC, the Repulican party is cutting every where they can to the programs that help the poor.  They have been trying to destroy Social Security for years.  They claim to have Christian values, but they forget that Jesus said to feed the poor and threw the money changers out of the temple.

    Cartoon:  Poor kitty.
