I’m writing for tomorrow, and this may be the only day this week I can do a complete Open Thread.  Tomorrow is a major shopping day.  My friend, with whom I do volunteer work, will be chauffeuring me to several places, and I’m sure I shall return home exhausted.

Update from today: Guitar man woke up. 🙁

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:48 (average 5:28).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Fantasy Football Report:

Here’s the latest from our fantasy football league, Lefty Blog Friends.

Scores:

12Scores

At least, I would not have been dead last had I not slept through my 9:30 AM injury check, and put Adrian Peterson back in the lineup. 🙁

Standings:

12Standings

Just two more games before the playoffs start.

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, told reporters today his nation agreed to a deal on its nuclear program in the hopes that it would distract attention from the trouble-plagued rollout of Obamacare.

“It’s true, we’ve resisted any deal on nukes for over three decades,” the Ayatollah said. “But when we saw how much trouble Obama was having with his Web site, we realized it would be uncaring of us not to try to help him out.”

The Ayatollah said he was not “overly optimistic” that signing a nuclear treaty with the West would be sufficient to distract attention from the President’s Obamacare woes, but, he added, “You never know. Every little bit helps.”…

Oh Andy!! Republicans will be quoting this as fact!

From MSNBC: More Virginia Election Theft?

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I think there may well be valid reason to determine that the election was improperly conducted, because of all the Democrats deprived of their right to vote. For Republican state legislators to deprive all Virginians of their votes and simply appoint the Republican fits perfectly within InsaniTEA! Beware!

From Crooks and Liars: In the wake of an agreement finally being made to address Iran’s nuclear program, to no one’s surprise, it’s got every neocon war monger out there wailing like banshees and one of the loudest was of course our former embarrassment of a U.N. ambassador, John Bolton: Experts Praise Effective Iran Sanctions While Fox’s Bolton Calls For Strikes:

I can think of few things more anti-American than a former US official telling a foreign nation to undermine US foreign policy by committing an act of war against another nation.

  1. 3:43 I dove right into these gum drops. They're one of my favorites.

  2. Did Guitar Man's binge start again or is he just up for a short while?

Fantasy ~ I did better last week. I finally won a game.

    New Yorker ~ Too funny!

MSNBC ~ No doubts about it. This is an example of election theft at its worst.

Crooks and Liars ~ John Bolton should just disappear from public life. Maybe he could hitch a ride on one of those missles he wants Israel to launch.

Cartoon ~ They would be dancing in the streets of San Francisco if they could.

  3. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/11/24/1258135/-Obama-just-launched-single-payer-in-America?detail=email

Interesting reading. I didn't know about this proviision in the Affordable Care Act. I bet few did know. Three cheers for Vermont. Single-pay may yet become a reality.

  4.  For Republican state legislators to deprive all Virginians of their votes and simply appoint the Republican fits perfectly within InsaniTEA!

    Puzzle 6:05

  5. 5:09, umm, all that sugar…

New Yorker:  Iran contra in reverse?  Ri-i-i-i-ight.

Virginia: the Daily Kos election team seems pretty confident about the AG race.  Anything in the State House, of course, is another matter.

ACA:  I learned from the Kos article, same as you, Patty.  But you know Bernie Sanders would not allow Vermont to be ignorant of a plum provision like that.  Kudos to Vermont for seizing on it.

Cartoon – I remember that sad day, not as vividly as November 22 1963, but very vividly.  I was in Colorado then, but I was born and brought up in the Bay Area.  A little snark:  that was back when Dianne Feinstein had some brains.  The Rethugs didn't love that.  They did love his Twinkie defense since he was white and straight.

Sadly, in death Harvey accomplished what no one living could then have done.  He called wide attention of straight people to how difficult it was to be gay.  The current huge support of straights for gays stems originally from that.  It's not only religion that owes a tremendous debt to the blood of martyrs.

  6. You will soon be rid of guitar man!  The electric company woke me this morning to tell me there would be an outage for two hours, starting at 10 am.  We have two inches of snow and 19 degrees outside. They actually turned off the power at 9:30 while hubby was in the shower.

The New Yorker"  Who else would think of this?  Purr fect.

MSNBC:  Nothing from Virginia would surprise me these days.

Crooks and Liars:  Couldn't stand Bolton before, still can't!

    Cartoon:  A sad day.

Personal Note.   Gov Beshear made the network news tonight, Ky is doing so well with the ACA, and he has also expanded Medicaid.  So proud of my gov.

  7. Harvey Milk won't die.  His story gets more widespread each and every year.  Tht is the way it should be.  The RNC will never kill this story.

  8. Bolton is an Idiot…like his friends at Faux Noise he spouts non-sense….just as water seeks it's ownlevel…so does stupid………..Harvey Milk will live with us forever. He was a truely caring person who saw beyound his own life and had concern for others in his cummunity, his City, State and Country….and the World in general.
