Update: I just heard some news on the new digs, and I have to take some updated financial info in tomorrow, and have a meeting with the Resident Services Manager next Wednesday, so it looks like I just be moving late in the month. However, that puts me in a big rush tonight, and writing for Thursday may be limited.

A couple days ago, I was willing to entertain the possibility that Idiot, Son of Idiot, Named after Idiot did not know, but the scope, frequency and depth of his plagiarism demonstrates clearly that it was his intent.
From Washington Post: As some Republicans in Congress push to scale back and otherwise reform entitlement programs, a pair of liberal senators are pushing to expand one of the programs — Social Security.
Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) are spearheading the effort, which they say would increase benefits for all Social Security beneficiaries by about $70 per month, change the cost-of-living calculation for benefits, and increase the amount that the wealthiest Americans pay into the program.
Social Security taxes are currently capped at the first $113,700 of someone's income. Brown and Harkin say the tax increase would help sustain the program, which is solvent but is on track for significant deficits in future decades.
Kudos to Brown and Harkin! It's about time someone took a proactive approach instead of playing defense all the time! Scrap the cap!!
From Raw Story: Kentucky’s Republican U.S. Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul will attempt to attach a national anti-union “right to work” law to the Employee Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) — the federal law designed to provide workplace protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. According to WGDB’s Roll Call, the Senate is expected to begin debate on ENDA this week.
Right to work laws are laws that prohibit employers and workers from entering into contracts mandating union membership for any profession, from nurses to police officers to auto workers. States with right to work laws generally feature fewer protections for workers. The laws typically weaken workers’ position to bargain with employers by reducing union membership and stripping away the power of collective bargaining.

The Lexington Herald Leader and the other journals sound surprisingly on the ball – they want to know what this mendacious individual really believes – though I suppose that might be only because their politics are one way – but at least someone is asking him to be definitive. This whole imbroglio reminds me of those occasions in sitcoms where someone famous says 'I've got a book coming out tomorrow – I'm looking forward to reading it to see what I think!'
God bless Senators Brown and Harkin for trying to help the poor – at last someone in power is trying to help them!

Yes, Brown is another on my "ten-off-the-top-of my head" list. I am really glad he is getting behind this, or should I say in front of it, since he is leading. Begich proposed a bill too but I gather Harkin's is better? Or possibly more passable? I surely hope you are right about the "Right to Work" rider. With so many blue dog Democrats seemingly willing to give away the farm, with us on it, I wish had your confidence.
I'm sure there have been other good Republicans hidden in the depths of the party from time to time, but as far as getting elected to anything – yup.
Having been gone recently for three weeks, I was going to ask for an update on the apartment situation after the elections – so this is perfect timing.

I am still embarrassed that he got elected in Ky. The Lexington Herald Leader has never let up on him, but they are considered a "liberal rag" by a lot of Kentuckians, guess that is why it is my favorite paper.

Rachel Maddow — For all his protestations as a Washington Weenie for people to take personal responsibility for themselves, I guess Idiot, son of Idiot named after Idiot does not think he should be held to that same level of personal responsibility. "Unfair"? "Casting aspersions"? It seems to me that the sole person responsibile is Paul himself. He was caught in a series of lies. Paul seems to have committed seppuku without a second. I wonder if any university papers should be looked at more closely?

Raw Story — Absolutely outrageous! Burying crap like right to work legislation in ENDA is pure bull shit! Haper and his harlots held the Conservative Conference this past week/weekend in Calgary and one of the topics up for discussion was right to work legislation similar to the US. In our constitution, we have the freedom of association which is the freedom to organise unions and be part of a union. Now I know that the US has wording too in the constitution, but it is, in my opinion not as strong. Still, this makes it clear that the Conservatives are out to trash the constitution, as are the Republicanus/Teabaggers in the US. Given Harper's proclivity for burying legislation in onibus bills, our non Conservative legislators must be very attentive. Even still, the Conservatives have a majority. If this happens, and with a non functioning Senate of political appointees, this is too likely to be be rubber stamped! ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!
