Short Takes:

From YouTube: Oh those money grubbing hypocrites!!

"Do Harm!" is the hypocritical oath of Tom "Dr. No" Coburn (R-OK). Now he, Bought Bitch Mitch (R-KY), and their money grubbing cronies (R-0.1%) want Northeastern money! Tell them to take a long walk off a short pier! As for Leg Hound Harry being an asshole, if an asshole like Coburn says so, Harry must still be wearing his Obamaballs!!

What can I say? When they do Bill Maher, count me in! LMAO!!

From Daily Kos:

Here we go again. As explained by Igor Volsky of ThinkProgress:

On Friday morning, CNN anchor Carol Costello challenged Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to substantiate her claim that HealthCare.gov will endanger Americans’ medical privacy. The host pushed the Congresswoman to specify which medical details enrollees would have to turn over to the federal government, causing Blackburn to become visibly uncomfortable and unsure as she strung together various buzzwords about privacy.

The exchange originated from a question Blackburn herself leveled at the primary contractors responsible for HealthCare.gov during a House Energy & Commerce Committee hearing on Thursday. Blackburn asked the witnesses why some of their employees had access to “the database servers storing the enrolling information” and suggested that they were in violation of The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the law that guarantees “federal protections for individually identifiable health information held by covered entities and their business associates and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information.”

Blackburn was busted, as she was clearly caught in a lie. But she continued to parrot the talking points she had been taught, despite having no idea what she was talking about. The medical records that involve HIPPA come into play only after a consumer purchases a plan, and they never even pass through healthcare.gov.

  1. 2:28 Look at all the pretty colors!

  2. YouTube ~ I'm curious as to how much money the absent-minded New york and Connecticut Republicans gave these 2 a$$holes.

Upworthy ~ Taxpayers pick up the slack because minimum wage is so low. The rich don't care because they have so many loopholes they pay less tax than a regular wage earner most of the time.

Daily Kos ~ Marsha Blackburn has absolutely no idea what HIPPA is. She only repeats the basic meme driven into her empty skull by the Party leaders. Does this remind you of the Red Party Leaders in the days of Stalin? Just parrot the Party line and you'll be fine.

Cartoon ~ Pretty kitty! Looks just like my nephew and his partner's cat, Lucy.

  3.  Senator Tom Coburn and his allies really have NO shame at all – how can they scream for aid for their states and deny it to others – then rub salt in the wounds that they have inflicted and go there on the anniversery of Hurricane Sandy (for which they denied aid) and hold their hands out for money?!!!  I'm staggered at their brass necks!

B****** Bachmann wants to get rid of the minimum wage 'cos then they could employ everyone for as little as they want – this sounds as if  they are trying to reintroduce slavery – but be fair, it won't be racist – it will be for everyone!  Bill Maher is right – these cheapskate corporations steal around 7 billion dollars a year from the ordinary public as they have to help the underpaid with food stamps etc.

  4. Puzzle — 2:43  Oh great ObiWan Catobi, you taught your student well.  But Patty Monsters still break my concentration and scare the whiskers off me!

Youtube — It seems that all the Republicanus/Teabaggers are against disaster relief and FEMA until their own individual districts need it.  Then it becomes "Gimme, gimme!"  All their "gimme, gimme" is nothing more than buying the vote of the sheeple.  Great small government solution.  Here's a solution — combat climate change and global warming to help prevent the need for disaster relief.

Upworthy — Love that last line . . . "If I want to talk into the face of some red nosed, I'll debate John Boehner!" All kidding aside, a living wage is not too much to ask.  It is time to fine companies for not paying a living wage. Cut the tax loopholes and/or subsidies and calculate a penalty (non tax deductible) based on the average non management worker wage and a living wage, with that money going into funding SNAP etc.  I wonder what the corporations would do then?  Put that money into employee wages which is tax deductible, or pay the government?  I know this is for now a pipe dream because Republicanus/Teabaggers would never entertain such a measure.  I'm not even sure Democrats would entertain it.

Daily Kos — Carol Costello clearly had Rep Marsha Blackburn by the 'short and curlies' because Blackburn never answered the main question: what medical information is at risk in the application process?  Polly want a cracker? . . . oops!  Polly already has a cracker and it is crumbling!

Cartoon — Every cat, no matter the colour, is a good cat and may cross my path any time, any day.  Actually, big black and white, Primo, is lying on my feet right now.

    • Monsters tread upon big toes!

Bill Maher, "Put that in you Brain and Smoke it"…

  8. Youtube:  Coburn and McConnell are both barfbags.

Upworthy: Maher always gets it right.  Wal Mart has run out most of the locally owned businesses here and brag about being one of our largest employers, they don;t add that they contribute to the welfare rolls as well.

Daily Kos:  I hope Carol doesn't end up getting fired for being a real journalist.  Marsha Blackburn is in the same category as Mitch and Rand.

Cartoon:  Looks like my Sparky, he can cross my path any day he wishes. '
