Here are the results of our How Long Will the Republican Shutdown Last Poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are often accurate.

Less than a month but then Teddie and the cruzzers will find some new way to undermine democracy.

I think they don’t CARE at this point (not quite a week) and I don’t expect them to grow a brain any time soon – unless Darth Cheney sends in his Storm Troopers to tweak the perps!

These disgusting (mostly) Republicans/ Teabaggers don’t give a ^&#@ how they harm the country/economy/individuals as long as they wield their power and retain their exorbitant salaries. If this shut-down included loss of their $$, we can be assured it wouldn’t last long. I wish Obama would go ahead and somehow find out how to make that happen.

I’d love to be wrong, but I’m sure they are just spoiled enough to hold their breath until they turn blue before they notice nobody cares, and then do it again, and again.

Well since I learned that the Republians are nothing more un-American brats I would have to say 1to3 months but that is being hopeful. They will bring down the country before they work with Obama. So this could take until the 2014 elections before anything is done. After all Obama has done this and he needs to be punished. How sick they are. On the other side of the coin Obama has done everything to work with these brats. Now is the time to show just what jerks the republican/tea party are. This is war

I hope that I am wrong and the shut down lasts less than a week, but I won’t hold my breath. The Republican/Teabaggers are not known for being enlightened thinkers . . . just ideologues who can’t find their way out of a wet paper bag! They care nothing for the millions upon millions of American lives that they negatively impact. Republican/Teabaggers are domestic terrorists without doubt, willing to hold the nation hostage at all costs.

I’m hoping they come to their senses sooner than that. But, we are talking about RepuliCanTs.

Patty I, about 3 years ago, with my sister changed the name of the Republicant’s to the Repulsivican party because they truly are a very repulsive group of nay saying haters!

I voted 1 week to 1 month, just to clarify my statement.

I choose one week to one month, because I predicted that Republicans would cave-in as long as Democrats did not do so first.  Most of us got it right.

The new poll questions a repeat performance.  Don’t forget to vote!

  1. I'm in the majority on this poll.  Though I really wish I had been wrong, so many people were frightened, others had their pay checks with held some had lost that pay it will not be returned to them, and we know the many other consequences that were involved.

I'm not sure that this meets the legal level for sedition but it sure needs to be kept in the minds of the Americans that actually do forget so quickly.  I think some of these House members and even some in the Senate are so ignorant on what a government is, what their duties are and how to behave that these are the sheep being led to slaughter.  They follow along because they are very anti-government, and feel they must follow along.  They are not attorneys and if you listen they really haven't a clue about what they are doing there.  (Or as picture on Facebook showed, so unable to spell that a car had the with words "Obama is the Ant Christ" – I didn't know that ants were that religious.)

Remember the old movie "The Candidate" with Robert Redford?  The most telling line is the end of the movie, now that he has won the Senate seat, he asks, "What do we do now?"  Indeed, what now, these folks are lost and we are paying the heavy price.

    • Miss Kitty, I'm reading your mind again!

"The Candidate" What Do We Do Now?  Indeed!  It seems to be the question that many congress critters should have asked and then gone to Congress Procedures 101 before actually taking a seat.

  2. I'm impressed that the poll was so accurate – but I do think that the teabaggers will try it again next year – they just do not understand or like democracy!  Loved the comments!

  3. We are a smart bunch!

  4. 1 to 3 months with the debt limit increase looming…

I am happy to be wrong. πŸ™‚

  5. I wish I been wrong and the shutdown had only lasted 1 day, but as I said

"The Republican/Teabaggers are not known for being enlightened thinkers . . . just ideologues who can’t find their way out of a wet paper bag! They care nothing for the millions upon millions of American lives that they negatively impact. Republican/Teabaggers are domestic terrorists without doubt, willing to hold the nation hostage at all costs."

Well, over and above the costs to the nation in economic terms, in stress, etc, the Republicanus/Teabaggers have cost themselves in the approval ratings.  May this rating drop further until they enjoy oblivion!

2014 is the time to start the turn around to sanity by putting all Republicanus/Teabaggers possible into the unemployment line!

  6. I am grateful that it is finally over.  I saw a clip onCBS a couple of days ago about a small town in Ca that relies on tourism to exist.  The shutdown has destroyed most of its businesses.   This is the type of destruction caused by willful, ignorant, no it alls who just want to take down the Prez.  I fervently hope that the "sheeple" do not forget this debacle in 2014.
