RepublicansOnParade2

Here is the twenty-eighth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is US Representative Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), infamous for hatred of LGBT folks.  He is honored for an assortment of hateful TEAbuggery, plus one HUGE lie!

22HueslcampYou really have to marvel at Republican members of Congress who believe that the message of the 2012 election, in which the candidate who campaigned for Obamacare soundly defeated the candidate who campaigned to repeal Obamacare, was that most Americans want to repeal Obamacare by any means possible.

Following an election in which Democrats won the popular vote for the House of Representatives, a mere 36 percent of Americans [Republican propagandists delinked] favor repealing the Affordable Care Act and just 28 percent of voters say they’d be more likely to support a congressman who is willing to shut down the government in order to prevent the law from being funded.

That brings us to Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), who in an interview with talk show host Steve Deace today followed his attacks on food stamp recipients by spewing the patently absurd GOP talking points that it is actually President Obama — not the Republicans — who want to shut down the government.

Then, Huelskamp asserted that voters will side with the GOP because a whopping “90 percent” of Americans oppose the reform law’s provision that “every single person under Obamacare” will pay a $1 abortion surcharge

Here’s the audio: BARF BAG ALERT!

Of course he was lying in normal Republican fashion. There is no such thing as an abortion surcharge in ObamaCare.  On the other hand, there is no such thing as a death surcharge in RepubliCare.  If you aren’t rich enough to pay for care, your death is absolutely free.  Uh-Oh!  I hope I haven’t given them an idea!

  1. Their stupidity ceaases to amaze me.

  2. Oh they make me feel even iller!  (Which would please them – I must think about kittens and puppies and flowers and the good in the world and feel better!)  Yesterday I found a series of photos in the Huff Post with politicians lies on it – yes, they were Repuglicons – oh they were baaaaddddd!!!  This reminds me of them – just lying for the sake of it – I don't believe that they believe the lies that they tell, they just want to convince the masses that their whoppers are true!

I just made a comment on C2 on the politics page where there is an article about Repuglicons stopping food stamps – someone called Cyan D appears to feel everyone on food stamps is a sponger – so I quoted Matthew 22 36 – 40 and Matthew 25 31 – 46 inclusive – on her page she says she is a Christian – so I thought perhaps she should remind herself of some of the things our Lord said.

    • I shared a cartoon on FB last week that said "Jesus required a drug test before dividing the loaves and fishes…… NOT".  Wish these pseudo Christians would pay more attention to what Christ actually said.

    • Pat, it they belioeved the lies, they would not be as evil.  Sadly, I am convinced that they do not, and are saying whatever they hope might get them elected.

Amen to what you both said!

  3. For all those years I was practicing, when an adolescent sought medical assistance on reproductive care I would send them to either an Ob-Gyn physician or Planned Parenthood.

Silly me … Repulicons think I could have just sent them to Dollar Tree instead!

  4. I donate money to Planned Parent Hood whenever I can afford it…

Then, Huelskamp asserted that voters will side with the GOP because a whopping “90 percent” of Americans oppose the reform law’s provision that “every single person under Obamacare” will pay a $1 abortion surcharge

I personally believe the GOP are in bed with the for profit insurance companies hence, they oppose Obamacare aka ACA… 💡

    • I donate to them less than 1% of the times they ask me for money.  That still works out to 3-4 times per year.

      You believe obvious truth.

  5. “every single person under Obamacare” will pay a $1 abortion surcharge"

What bear scat!!!!!  As detailed by PolitiFact.com, there is no $1 abortion surcharge. There is no doubt that the issue is more complex than that one statement, but Huelskamp (R-KS) is oblivious to the complexity and the truth.  That makes him very dangerous, as are all the parrots in Congress.  By law, the Hyde Amendment, public funds cannot be used for abortions, and a change to that law is not in the ACA.  There are so many more services, valuable services, that Planned Parenthood provides.  Only about 3% of their business is about abortions and that is covered either by fee for service or fund raising (from non government sources).  The right to lifers are twisting everything, as usual, while the Republicanus/Teabaggers hold fast to the rights of the unborn, but once born, walk the other way from the child by reducing SNAP, denying affordable healthcare, under funding education etc.

  6. Are there any Republicans left who can tell the truth anymore?  I think not.
