I’m writing for tomorrow, day 66, and waiting for the next promise from the weatherman to blow up.  He keeps promising cool, while I just get the added humidity of the showers that never come added to the heat.  I’ve been too sticky to sleep.  I am also in deep mourning after yesterday’s catastrophe at the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:09 (average 4:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: A San Antonio senior state district judge confirmed Thursday that he will name a special prosecutor to investigate possible charges of coercion and abuse of official capacity against Gov. Rick Perry.

May it result in swift and successful prosecution.

From Think Progress: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said on Sunday that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to shut down the government over the funding of Obamacare, but that he is hoping his party does it anyway.

I nicknamed Idiot, Son of Idiot, Named after Idiot well.

From MSNBC: Ed Schultz on Ted Yoho (R-FL)

Hat-Tip to Gene at Care2 for this marvelous concept.  I only hope I did it justice.

  1. "From Daily Kos "A San Antonio senior state district judge confirmed Thursday that he will name a special prosecutor to investigate possible charges of coercion and abuse of official capacity against Gov. Rick Perry. " " – thanks for this bit of hope TC, we need it – the lunatics are in charge of the asylum!

  2. PS TC, I have a dental abscess added to sinusitus added to everything else I suffer daily – and the blighted blasted blotted GP has started me off on weak antibiotics that don't work, then stronger ones added to a second dose of the former.  Sadly the stronger antibiotics are making my liver swell and be miserable and I can't eat – please could people pray for me – as I will have to phone the ….. doctor …. up again and again ask for help – and from such horrid people!  I need divine intervention to cure this abscess as the tooth will have to be taken out – probably in pieces and by the emergency dentist but that can't be done till they get the infection under control….. argh!  [EEK!]

    • My thoughts are with you.

(Actually posted something similar shortly after you posted – but the site had a major hiccup, and it didn't get posted.)

      • Thank you so very much for your thoughts, Nameless, they really helped – the emergency dentist was a wonderful man and very good at his job and the tooth was out very quickly – I was SO amazed I couldn't believe it after all the trouble it has given me over the years (and the horror stories so many people not on Care2 or PP told me).

I wasn't clear if you were in a similar position from your post above – so have said some prayers for you just in case!

    • done by we four for you three

    • Done!  I hope you get some relief soon.

    • For sure, Pat.  I know what you feel, because I've been there.  Before my Medicare kicked in I has to cure the infewction with animal antibiotics and pull the tooth by hand.

      • Bless you all – your prayers are being very effective so far and I am SOOOO grateful!  I have today spoken to a herbalist in Edinburgh and she is going to overnight some strong herbs for me – they made up a medicine specially for me!  I am quite sure that wouldn't have happened without divine intervention (the doctor just said go back to the emergency dentist on Thursday).  I think the tooth (if the inflammation is down enough by Thursday evening) will be pulled under local anaesthetic .  Am not looking forward to it at all, but I hope to feel a lot better afterwards.  Now, however, I know why the infection hasn't leapt upwards violently again when I stopped the antibiotics – all your prayers!  It is still there and painful – but not half as bad as it has been.  Thank you all so much!

  3. 3:24  I have a hole in my sail that needs mending!

  4. Puzzle — 3:24  I have a hole in my sail that needs mending!

Daily Kos — Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!  Let's face it, Perry convicted himself of DWI (driving while an idiot) and he is still in office!

While I do not condone driving under the influence, funding for the integrity unit has absolutely nothing to do with Rosemary Lehmberg's conviction and as such, Slick P Rick Perry should be investigated for coercion and abuse of official capacity.

    Think Progress —  Rand Paul:

"…do something we can to protect the American public from the law.”

It isn't Obamacare that the public needs protection from, it is the Republicanus/Teabaggers that are their sworn enemy!

"…he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to shut down the government over the funding of Obamacare, but that he is hoping his party does it anyway."

Paul is a lying snake in the grass!  If he doesn't think it is a good idea, then why sign on to a letter threatening to shut the government down over the funding of Obamacare?  If there is a shutdown, the first government employees to be furloughed should the Republicanus/Teabagger politicians and their staff.  Hell, the politicians don't do any work anyway.

MSNBC — New call out line for Floridians: "Yo – Ho you gotta go!"  What a two faced asshole!  Oh right, that is part of the definition of a Republicanus/Teabagger politician.

Cartoon — The reverse rapture indeed!  I like the flames!

Would someone please spray this Kochroach?

They seem to be immune but, I'm still hopeful.

  6. I agree, TC, may the prosecution be swift and successful. Perry is such a hypocrite!

    Rand continues to embarrass Kentucky.

Yoho again makes me glad I do not live in Florida.  We have Rand, but we at least have a democratic governor, and a democratic majority in the state legislature.
