Writing for tomorrow, day 62, it’s still cool, early in the day.  Yesterday’s meeting with my guys in prison went great.  In our CoDA group, we discussed boundaries, and the guys inspired me with the depth of their understanding of where they need to improve and with their progress in doing so.  Critter sends greetings to Critter and promises to excel, lest he be buried in Critter Crap.  The down side is that I’m beat, after missing sleep, pushing my endurance limits, and returning to a super-heated, closed-up apartment, so this is tomorrow’s only article.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:35 (average 5:26).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MSNBC: FDR’s evolution of thinking on Keynesian economics,

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Keynesian economics is so outdated, that it has only one thing going for it. It works! That’s why today’s Republicans hate it so.

From Raw Story: Fox News host Mike Huckabee and Ted Nugent on Tuesday hatched a plan to take the conservative rocker’s “world’s greatest hunting dog” and “him loose on some Democrats” so they could get the “varmints” out of office.

Huckabee began his Tuesday interview with Nugent by asking about “Gonzo, the wonder Labrador Retriever.”

“Nobody hunts more than the Nugent family,” Nugent explained. “We literally hunt anywhere between 250 and 300 days a year. And you think Gonzo is good on ducks, you should see him on squirrels and doves and rabbits and woodcock and grouse. He really is a mystical, wonderful hunting dog.”

“Well, maybe we ought to turn him loose on some Democrats and see if he can hunt them too,” Huckabee suggested.

Now, where did Rev. Mike Huckabee, aka Upchuck Huck or Upchuckabee, get such a loving idea? From Republican Supply-side Jesus (the one they invented, not the real Jesus), of course.

From Robert Reich: 7 Lies

I think I’ve posted this before, but it Robert Reich didn’t think we need to be reminded how to debunk these Republican lies, he would not have reposted it on his site today. I agree.

  1. 62 days!  Congradulations!!!

  2. 4:18 I hope I didn't smell the flowers too long.

  3. MSNBC ~ The problem RepubliCons have with Keynesian econimics is tyhat it works for the majority of the people and not just the 1%.

Raw Story ~ Nice thought coming from a supposed preacher.

Robert Reich ~ This needs to be reposted on some "regressive" sites.

Cartoon ~ It's all a matter of convenience for them.

  4. 62 days! Way to go.

Raw Story – No way! Nutcase Nugent would never take the chance of hunting anything that might fight back.

  5. Puzzle — 4:06  "Pwettie fwowies!" as my stepfather would say!  (Did it again at 3:16 — very pretty flowers!)

MSNBC — An interesting piece of economic history, one that the Republicanus/Teabaggers would be wise to learn from and re-adopt.  After all, the GOP's Tricky Dickie admitted in 1971 "I am now a Keynesian in economics."

"And we can only wish that Professor Keynes were still with us to help straighten out Republicans like Paul Ryan who mistakenly believe that they belong to the higher echelons of economic knowledge."

So the Republicanus/Teabaggers changed their approach to economics when Barak Obama was elected and clearly was a Keynesian.  I'd like to believe that this is purely an economic ideological difference, but to me there is no doubt that the Republicanus/Teabaggers are letting their racist beliefs get in the way of good economic policy that will move the country forward.

Raw Story — Huckabee and Nugent are a disgrace to the human race!  I'd say they are the varmints but then I'd be censured by the IBV (International Brotherhood of Varmints).

Robert Reich — Could we rename these excellent points as "7 points for a highly effective government"? or something along that line.  I think you understand where I am coming from.  Reich is so spot on!

Cartoon — There's more than one reason we call him "Tricky Dicky"!

    • Dang!  Those big feet smell like roses, even from last!!

Actually the change started under Ronnie Ray Gun and was strengthened under Crawford Caligula., but even then, they compromised.  Their response to Obama is that they would rather be wrong than work with him.

      Amen!

It we called them that, Republicans would object based on title alone. 😉

      Bingo!

  6. Upchuckabee doesn't need a dog to hunt down Democrats.  All he has to do is look around him.  We are everywhere.   We are the ones beating the republican asses on issue after issue.

  7. I do like Robert Reich – debunking 7 Republican lies in less than three  minutes!  Well done on day 62 – or even day 63 as it may be now TC!

  8. Roosevelt saved this country with Keynesian economics.  I went to grade school in a wpa school.  We had roads and bridges built, and no bridges were collapsing.  The GOP hates Obama, plain and simple and they don't care if they destroy the whole country if it will reflect badly on him.

I don't know who makes me more ill, Huckabee or Nugent. Both need serious mental health care.

Love Robert Reich.  I shared this video on facebook.

  9. How did you do? 6:35

Lawrence O'Donnell is one of my favorites. Robert Reich rocks too with truth that cuts through the BS…
