I’m feeling quite pooped, because yesterdays trip to the doctor was a trial, involving over 1 1/2 miles of walking and long waits for transit in blowing snow. At least it didn’t stick. I do have mild pneumonia. and will have new antibiotics by tomorrow. I’m current with replies. It looks like I’ll be down for a few more days.

Hope you're feeling better and advise you to be extremely careful with this Flu and the subsequent infections that arise from it; my Sister had it something awful and had to go to the hospital via ambulance. I noted a few cases where someone had the Flu, got better, and then mysteriously became so ill that nothing could be done to save their lives. It was stated that it was the bacterial infection that was just gaining strength when the Flu was over, thus their guard was let down until it was too late. The other three of us had our Flu Shots and did not get sick. I question the belief that the shot is more harmful than catching the flu as I haven't had it in over 20 years, nor pumonia – and that was when I began taking the yearly shot.(Also take a pnumonia vacine every five years.) These new strains of the Flu Virus can be extremely deadly, espeially to people with COPD and in their 60's or above – which is me… I also find it odd that the U.S. is experiencing three (3) separate epidemics at the same time. The Flu is understandable, as well as the Whooping Cough epidemic which scientists believe was caused by using a less effective vacine due to the original vacine's side effects. They are stating that the new vacine they used for Whooping Cough did not last nearly as long as the older one which was far more effective.
The one I question is the "Winter Vomiting Disease" AKA Norovirus. I question how this disease seemed to appear almost simultaneously in too many U.S. cities to mention, and it's also deadly in several of the cases. Now, even worse, there's a newer version of this viris that's even worse than the one we are experiencing that appeared in Great Britain and I'm hoping that containment measures keep it there for this Flu season, as we don't need to add more misery than the nation is already experiencing.
Hope you get better soon and thank you for the continued support when I was too stricken with grief to write or keep up with our site. Loyalty and perseverance is a trait that too many Americans have forgotten, however I am grateful for your steadfast support when I couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. You're a rare commodity these days and appreciated more than you can imagine – so you have to get well soon! 🙂

MSNBC — Loved the play on words "Dread Scott" vs "Dred Scott". Rick Scott is no more interested in diversity than I am interested in flying to the moon! (No, I am not travelling anywhere! … not even on my fully paid for luxury broom!) I also imagine that the fanatical religious right-wing nuts won't be pleased with this. After all, they have a hard time with Jews and Muslims.

I think we'll be OK on it, if Boehner puts it up without support from the majority of Republicans, as he did with the Sandy relief bill and the debt ceiling deal.
