From Huffington Post: In the wake of the mass killing that claimed 26 children and adults at a Connecticut elementary school Friday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) made the case Sunday that the answer to preventing massacres in the U.S. is for more Americans to carry guns.
In effect he is saying that the way to keep children safe from motor vehicles is to send them to play on the Interstate.

Gohmert nauseates me! His answer to anything is violence! What about that poor lad who was shot and killed while unarmed – what about the tens of thousands killed for no reason at all – oh Heaven help us!

So sorry you're still ill TC! Take it slowly – rest and recuperate and get properly better – insofaras your COPD will let you of course! I have had many bad chest infections, bronchitis episodes and have had horrendous pneumonia twice (for weeks each time) – so I have some idea of what you are going through – except of course that those things I suffered eventually pass – golly you are strong!
(Still praying!).

And that is what a bunch of the yahoos were saying after the Aurora, Colorado shootings too. According to a UN report, the US has 88.8 guns per 100 people. With almost every person having a gun, well at least technically, how in the name of sam hill are even more guns going to solve the problem. To me, it seems to be people like Gohmert and his wild west frontier attitude in non wild west frontier times that are responsible for much of the violence. That, and in some cases, mental illness of some sort or description.
"They choose this place [because] they know no one will be armed." — Is this idiot proposing to send 6 and 7 year olds to school with a loaded sig sauer or a bushmaster rifle?
"5 years, 19 mass shootings, no action" — It seems that too many are pointing their fingers at Mr Obama when any legislation has to pass the House. Perhaps, with no re-election in the wings, he will at least get a proposal out there. Then let's see what the Congress does.

MoveOn ~ There is too much hate in our country. So much of it is directed at our fellow countrymen because they look different or act differently. Tolerance seems to have disappeared. So sad.
