The Barrage of Lies Thickens

The Republican party must own a magnificent super computer, because nothing less could enable them to keep track of all the lies they are telling.  With the election only ten days away, the barrage of lies is thicker than ever, and nowhere is there a more prolific liar than Willard Romney, who will say anything to get elected.

27jeepMitt Romney, attempting to bolster his case to Ohio voters, misinterpreted a story and passed on an outright lie at a rally in the swing state yesterday. Reacting to a Bloomberg News story about auto manufacturer Chrysler’s plans to open a plant in China, Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio that the company was “thinking of moving all production to China,” and that he would prevent such action by fighting for “every good job in America”:

I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep — now owned by the Italians — is thinking of moving all production to China,” Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio, home to a General Motors powertrain plant. “I will fight for every good job in America. I’m going to fight to make sure trade is fair, and if it’s fair America will win.”

The Bloomberg News story, however, doesn’t say that Chrysler plans to move “all production to China.” Instead, it says that Fiat, which now owns Chrysler, is planning to open Chinese factories where it will make one of its most popular lines, Jeep, for Chinese consumers. Chrysler isn’t planning to shift production away from the United States. Instead, it will add factories in China to keep up with the nation’s growing demand for automobiles… [emphasis original]

That was a mind-boggling list of lies, but I does not stop with Romney himself. Lying is endemic to the Republican Party spokespeople, such as Romney’s campaign co-chair.

27SununuA day after former Secretary of State Colin Powell said he supported Barack Obama based on health care and foreign policy, a top Mitt Romney surrogate floated a different theory. Campaign co-chair and former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu said Powell likely endorsed the president because they are both black.

Appearing on CNN, Sununu said he applauded the retired general, but then added: “Frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder if that’s an endorsement based on issues, or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.” In case that was unclear, he then specified that he was referring to the men’s race… [emphasis added]

Ed Schultz discussed Sununu’s racist allegations with Powell’s former Chief of Staff, Col. Lawrewnce Wilkerson.

Powell gave specifics as to why he is supporting Obama, but Sununu chose to ignore all that, to play the race card for the KKK GOP. Wilkerson was right that the Republican Party is full of racists, but he was wrong about one thing. We do know where Lord Willard stands. He stands with the 1% against America.

    • Love that last sentence!

    • Nameless, that is magnificent, and don't worry about missing a few.  If one tried to list ALL Lord Willard's lies, they would break the Internet.

    • Nameless, that is wonderful!!!  I hope you don't mind if I borrow your hard work here, with full credit of course, if the situation arises to remind a few Romney groupies of their misplaced loyalties!

  3. Sadly, too many of our voters pay little attention to the context of Romney's statements, but rely on Fox news interpretations, few of them have ever heard of Rachel or Ed.  I firmly believe that much of the antagonism against the Prez is thinly disguised racism.

  4. Col Wilkerson was great — and his "my party" statements were very much appreciated.  He confirmed that Colin Powell is a forthright person and has no time for racism, but he also put himself squarely in that same box.  I applaud their honesty.  Now, if only some of that honesty and integrity could rub off onto Romney, Ryan and others, that would be great.

From what I have seen, when Romney and Ryan go travelling, their noses arrive at the destination hours before the rest of their bodies, they tell so many lies.

Good thing that Faux Noise (Fox News) is illegal in Canada (comes under the Canadian Radio Act).

  5. Really, TomCat! Not to denigrate your investigative and writing skills, but, this piece literally wrote itself.
I challenge you to find a truth which has issued from that orifice in Rmoney's face which he calls his mouth.
