I’m still feeling very tired, but after resting yesterday, I have enough steam to be back in the saddle.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos will be featured with the Saints in the nationally televised Sunday night meditation.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:16 (average 5:43).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: Stephen Colbert’s Hilarious Response To Donald Trump’s ‘October Surprise’ (warning: off color)

Dang! He want’s Trump to commit Teabuggery!!!

From YouTube: Lena Dunham: Your First Time

Lord knows I’m way too old and decrepit for this to be my first time, but I’ll vote for Obama anyway!

From The New Yorker: With less than two weeks to go until Election Day, there is a deep divide among Republican leaders over whether to emphasize misogyny or racism as the campaign’s closing theme.

That must be a really tough decision for them. They are so adept at both!

  1. Please TC – no more picsof that horrid man Cheney.  You made me lose my breakfast.

  2. Puzzle — 3:42  That is one big booby . . .er . . . uh . . . Brown Booby.

MoveOn — Video not yet available on Comedy Network in Canada.  I am assuming that it is from 26/10/12 and they have up to 25/10/12.  Will check later.  Would love to see that bombastic Trump put in his place.

YouTube — Very refreshing to see someone who knows something about the issues, put thought into her decision, and is so enthusiastic about voting!  I'd vote for Obama too, but alas, I'm Canadian!

The New Yorker — Love Borowitz!

"Hoping to heal a possible rift … the R.N.C. chairman Reince Priebus said … “Our ‘big tent’ message to voters should be this: come for the misogyny, stay for the racism.”

    And this from my dictionary:
Republican/Teabaggers — 1) a despicable biological plague; 2) a recognised US hate group; 3) a US political party that acts like a despicable plague and a hate group; 4) a group of ultra conservative, predominately grumpy old white men who should meet the real Jesus but never will.

Cartoon — Crap, there goes breakfast and lunch!  The three amigos, criminals each — Lyin' Ryan for what he proposes to do to the American people; Chickenhawk Cheney for what he has done to the American people and the peoples of other countries (there's a cell waiting for him at the ICC at The Hague while he stands trial for war crimes); and Nathan Sproul (?) the crook du jour for voter registration fraud, among other things.Damn, wouldn't it be great to see these idiots incarcerated!

  3. The Right-Wing echo chamber is in extreme pearl-clutching mode over Lena Dunham's "First Time" double-entendre YouTube video.
So if you encounter such a wingnut, simply remind them that it was their own St. Ronnie Raygun who long ago made the original "First Time" reference:

  4. Ok, I've seen the Colbert Report and it was the 24/10/12 episode.  I had already seen Trump's bombastic proposition. But Colbert certainly puts an interesting and funny spin on it!

I saw a clip of Trump on the David Letterman show.  Trump was his usual bombastic self but Letterman shut him up with total embarrassment.  Trump was talking about China and Mr Obama's failure, in his eyes, to haul China on the carpet for trade practices.  Eventually Trump brings up Macy's (I think) and their high end clothing, made in America.  Letterman has a few things — shirts and ties.  Shows the shirt first, then some ties.  Trump says look at those great looking American made ties.  Letterman turns it over — Made in China!  Trump had the most stupid look on his very red face and didn't say another thing.  Damn, I love it when a fool get whittled down to size!

  5. MoveOn ~ Colbert was brilliant albeit a tad off-color. I saw the episode and laughed my butt off.

YouTube ~ Yup! The Righties have their panties in a wad over this but we know they do not possess a sense of humor among the lot of them.

The New Yorker ~ 'Hoping to heal a possible rift with so little time left until Election Day, the R.N.C. chairman Reince Priebus said today that there is room for both views in today’s Republican Party: “Our ‘big tent’ message to voters should be this: come for the misogyny, stay for the racism.”'
    WOW!

Here is cartoonist Ted Rall's take on the RepublicanT view on rape:
