Yesterday’s trip to the doctor turned out well.  The tests were negative.  All looks good.  Pain is just a side-effect of becoming a bald-headed old fart.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow appears routine.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:23 (average 4:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: The 15 Wars Started By The GOP Since Obama Took Office

12GOP-Wars

If it’s good for America, Republicans have a war against it!

From NY Times: In these closing weeks of the campaign, each side wants you to believe that it has the right ideas to fix a still-ailing economy. So here’s what you need to know: If you look at the track record, the Obama administration has been wrong about some things, mainly because it was too optimistic about the prospects for a quick recovery. But Republicans have been wrong about everything.

Paul Krugman hit the bullseye again!

From Christian Science Monitor: As a slew of Twitterers and bloggers pointed out yesterday afternoon, the search term "completely wrong" brings up a slew of pictures (big and small) of presidential hopeful and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. CNN has traced the origin of the whole mess to an interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News, wherein Romney attempted to distance himself from his infamous "47 percent" gaffe.

Once in a while, there is poetic justice in the universe

  1. Cartoon — Instead of just a dick?

  2. 3:21 Mooove, over, Tom. I Just eked this one out, but Jerry and Lynn are still in the running.

  3. MoveOn ~ Let's just call it the War on America, vbecause that's what it its.

NY Times ~ President Obama had a right to be optimistic about the recovery until he came up against the Grand Obstructionist Party in the House and Senate.

Christian Science Monitor ~ and the google search gets you this:https://www.google.com/search?q=completely+wrong&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=685&prmd=imvnsu&source=univ&tbm=nws&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=zVd4UMOZLPK90QHKzYDYAQ&ved=0CB0QqAI

Cartoon ~ I agree with Jerry.

  4. Puzzle —- 3:16  This was udderly frustrating!  3 times I started this and 3 times I was interrupted by 25 pounds of feline friskiness! . . . not to mention that my lunch went flying to the floor!  Arrrggghhhhhh!

MoveOn — I like that Patty — The Republican War on America!  Hell, with the Republicans, the US doesn't need any foreign enemies . . . it has enough home grown enemies . . . they are called Republican/Teabaggers!  I think it was Nameless that once said:  Voting is like driving a car -'R' for reverse (Republican) and 'D' for drive forward (Democratic)!

NY Times — Krugman rules!!!  I also liked a couple of points from one of the commenters on his article:

All of the GOP talk of this Administration's "failures" fail to take into account the GOP policies that created the hole the country has to climb out of. All the GOP offers for foreign policy is the came crap that got us into the hole with the same crappy advisors, the same people … What Romney/Ryan–and the GOP–is catering to is the impatience and "magical thinking" of many Americans. But the world is not instant whipped potatoes–a crappy product, by the way. They are also catering to residual racism.

Christian Science Monitor — Poetic justice indeed!  I googled and came up with several pages of references.  Here's one from one of our major dailies, The Vancouver Province.

What Mitt Romney just did to himself is “completely wrong” — especially if you’re his presidential campaign adviser.
As Slate reports, the former governor made himself the No. 1, page-filling search result in Google Images this week for the phrase “completely wrong” — which is what he called his infamous comments about the 47-per-cent of Americans who presumably live a life of leisure at the taxpayer teat. …
This time, Mitt’s apparently bombed himself. Now that Google has revised its algorithm to make Google bombing difficult — sending people to news stories about the bombing trick itself, rather than to the intended spoof target — the results showing up for “completely wrong” are, essentially, legit.

Cartoon — Didn't you have another cartoon similar in nature, especially when you consider Jerry's comment?  It might have been with Scott Brown, but I can't remember for sure.  'Weiner' or 'dick', makes no never mind!  Lyin' Ryan (and Multiple Mitt) are not fit for human consumption.

  5. Just for fun, go to Google and simply type in "mathematically impossible" …
