What to you call it when a foreign government extends citizenship to Ms. Michele Bachmann, Teabagger extraordinaire, and Queen of Batsh*t crazy?  You call it a Mstake, that’s what.  It boggles the mind!  What could the Swiss have been thinking?!!?

Former GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann recently became a citizen of Switzerland after her husband claimed his heritage.

“Congresswoman Bachmann’s husband is of Swiss descent so she has been eligible for dual-citizenship since they got married in 1978,” Becky Rogness said in a statement to POLITICO, which first reported the story in the United States. “However, recently some of their children wanted to exercise their eligibility for dual-citizenship so they went through the process as a family.”

Marcus Bachmann reportedly began the process to claim his citizenship on Feb. 15, according to POLITICO. That process was finalized on March 19, giving Michele citizenship as well, the website reported.

Bachmann’s three youngest children are now Swiss citizens too, and her two older children also eligible to apply.

The Minnesota congresswoman was interviewed by Swiss reporters in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday while with a group of Swiss parliamentarians and she discussed her family’s heritage.

“My husband is a 100 percent Swiss, and his parents were raised in Switzerland, they were married there, they came to the United States, they bought a farm in Wisconsin and raised their three sons there,” Bachmann said in the interview

Given that to be eligible for Swiss healthcare, Michele would have to move there, so let’s wish her immediate eligibility, as we hope that the Swiss do not declare war on the US for dropping the Batsh*t Bomb on them.

  1. She got money. The Swiss like money.

  2. This is the funniest thing I heard today !! Followed by the “breaking news” she has withdrawn the citizenship— (5/10’12 @ 2;39pm(CDST)

  3. They had ought to transport her and her entire family to the very top of an isolated Alpine ridge, and then just leave them rthere for good.

Good news for me as if she were ever elected for POTUS, I would move to Czechoslovakia… sarcasm

    • Works for me!

  4. Switzerland long ago sold its soul to the global financial parasite class.  It’s known for being the number-one haven for ill-gotten gains in secret bank accounts, after all.  Romney would be an even better fit, but any top Republican should feel right at home there.

  5. The Swiss are out of their minds!  But then if Phyllis is right and Guano Girl has really withdrawn her application for Swiss citizenship, she probably realised that she can’t run for POTUS if she is a citizen of another country.  Or would the US allow a dual citizen to run for POTUS?  Can’t think that they would because of potential conflicts of interest.

Too bad if she is not becoming a Swiss citizen and going there permanently.

  6. She now changed her mind and gave up the Swiss citizenship. What in hell is she doing? Or is it that the Swiss didn’t want her any more than we do?

  7. They can have her.  Get her on the first flight.
