Well, I’m trying to climb out of the pit and return to blogging.  I’m well short of 100%, because even Imodium and Yogurt is not sufficient to overcome the side-effects of my antibiotic, but it’s now every few hours instead of every few minutes.  My last two doses are today, thank goodness!  I’m not current with replies, but will return to my normal replying starting with today’s articles.  I hope to post again tomorrow.

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: The One Question That Will Stump ALL Your Republican Friends

15WhyMore

Perhaps we have greed trumping need.

From MSNBC: Rachel Maddow discusses Drift with Bill Maher.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Although I don’t always agree withy him, Maher is fascinating when he isn’t trying to be funny.

From USA Today: President Obama leads Mitt Romney in the arena that counts — the Electoral College — but does not have the 270 electoral votes needed to renew his lease on the White House, according to an Associated Press analysis.

Obama would have 242 electoral votes in states where he has big leads, or that are leaning his way, the AP says. Romney, the likely Republican nominee, is favored or has narrow leads in states with 188 electoral votes.

Nine states with 104 electoral are up for grabs, AP said, and will likely decide the election.

It’s still a bit early to put much stock in polls, but as the election grows closer, I’ll be doing closer analysis of what we might expect.

  1. 3:17 ,  3:32,  3:47,  4:04,  3:39,  4:06,  3:28,  4:09,  4:50,  3:51,   4:05,  4:06,  4:21,  3:19,  4:04,  4:30. Whew! Finslly done! Not too bad overall.

Just don’t overdo it, Tom. I’m glad you’re back but I don’t want to lose your wit again.

I’ve asked them that question and they always change the subject because they have no logical answer. Move On was very insightful with this thought.

Rachel has shown that clip a few times and I’ve enjoyed watching each time. St. Ronnie got off because he’s a saint. Ollie took the fall for him.

I’m hoping the polls are accurate and Romneys friends are just throwing their money away.

  2. Puzzles — I was doing them while you were away.  I had several that were just under and one, the dog, that was almost 1 minute under average.  The last 5 were 4:49 (almost 1 minute under — that’s a second one!, 7:01; 6:30; 5:49; and 5:34.  I’m certainly no superstar like Patty! Jerry! and you!

MoveOn — Excellent as usual!  their question “Why do they need more wealth before they create jobs?” is so spot on and just highlights the point that the Republican/Teabaggers don’t give a rat’s ass about the middle class and working class or poor.

Rachel Maddow — Ronald Reagan and the Iran Contra Affair (sounds like a Robert Ludlum book title!), Richard Nixon and the Watergate Scandal, Baby Bush and illegal wars — what won’t the Republicans do!  It’s not illegal because the President did it with national security interests at heart!  Oh crap!

Hope those poll numbers remain steady and grow in favour of the democrats.

Cartoon — Excellent!  Sounds just like that spooky character Chuckie — Im back!

    • I‘m not even comparing them in mass.

      Bingo!

And at the time, the only politician that openly supported that notion was ChickenHawk Cheney.

      Amen!

Thanks.  I was thinking of “Their back” in Poltergeist.

  3. Only in his wildest dreams! Welcome back TC.
