Bucks for Birthers

Three days ago in Birtherism in Brewerstan, I covered Crazy Joe Arpaio’s attempt to resurrect the absurd Birther conspiracy theory.  Spreading GOP lies may not be the only motive for this move.  It has turned out to be a test for the financial gullibility of the sheeple in the InsaniTEA wing of the Republican Party.  It’s fleecing time!

6birtherBy his own account, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation into the president’s birth certificate is far from over. But already, the supposedly volunteer investigator leading the sheriff’s probe is raking in a profit from it.

Michael Zullo, the investigator who took center stage at Arpaio’s news conference last week, has already co-authored an e-book about his investigation and is selling it for $9.99 on Amazon [Teabuggery delinked] and Barnes & Noble [Teabuggery delinked].

The book gives Zullo a financial motive to continue stoking the flames of a conspiracy theory that has been debunked numerous times by an array of independent investigations.

On Thursday, Arpaio and Zullo took to a podium in Phoenix to declare that after six months of investigating they believe the president’s birth certificate is a computer-generated forgery.

In doing so, they joined the ranks of a fringe group of writers and activists who generally believe Obama is ineligible to be president because they doubt he was truly born in the United States.

The pair stopped short of saying they believe the president is illegitimate, but Arpaio said repeatedly that the investigation is “not over.”

A day before the grand announcement, Zullo’s e-book quietly went up for sale online. It was first spotted on Friday by a journalist for Phoenix television station KTVK… [emphasis added]

I strongly suspect that Arpaio role in this is to provide name recognition to Zullo’s swill for their mutual profit.  I wonder how many sheeple will say Ba-a-a-a-a-a with credit cards in hand?

I agree and I’m waiting for the Feds to incarcerate Joe with pink underware…

  2. He just wants his name in the headlines – like a deer with headlights – can’t move – stupid man.

  3. Isn’t there something like ‘malicious mischief’ or ‘criminal mischief’ that the feds could nail Arpaio on?

Arpaio is an insult to the good people of Brewerstan and makes a mockery of justice!

  4. he is trying to make money for defense against the feds. he is an example what is wrong with our justice and policing. hopefully justice will be served. and all those rape or assault victims that never got justice should sue him and the state. drain brewers swamp including her.
