Yesterday I meditated upon the Ellipsoid Orb, and although my congregation has been retired, I enjoyed both meetings.  Kudos to the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.  I’m current with replies.  Today I need to run errands and prepare for volunteer work on Tuesday.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 4:35 (average 5:00).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Huffington Post: President Barack Obama’s appointments to two key agencies during the Senate’s year-end break ensures that GOP senators will return to work Monday in an angry and fighting mood.

Less clear is what those furious Republicans will do to retaliate against Obama’s “bring it on” end run around the Senate’s role in confirming nominees to major jobs.

The buzz is that they will retaliate by blocking Obama’s appointments.  That is an empty threat, because that is what they are already doing.

From Crooks and Liars: Huckabee Plays the Birther Card on Obama While Defending Romney on Tax Returns

Once upon a time the Huckster had a reputation for some integrity, however slight. No more. O’Lielly, on the other hand, never has.

From Mother Jones: While the network news shows spend this Sunday marveling over Newtmentum in South Carolina, Rick Santorum will quietly make his first stop in Florida, site of the next primary on January 31. He’ll be dropping in to see the honorary chairman of his state campaign—a Bush-connected Islamophobic pastor who says gays “make God want to vomit.”

Republican Supply-side Jesus (not the real one) would be devastated if Newter had monopoly on hateful bigotry, so the Frothmeister is stepping up.

  1. Appointments — I seem to recall someone saying that the Republican/Teabaggers could challenge the appointments in SCOTUS.  Do I recall correctly?  Or is it that can challenge the process in SCOTUS, but the already done appointments will stand at least until the end of 2013?  Either way, I can just see old jabber-jowls McConnell getting in a tizzy!  The Republican/Teabaggers are such a pugnacious bunch.  They make pitbulls look like docile mutts!

Huckabee —Hard to believe this idiot ever had some integrity!  What a waste of energy going after the birther crap after all this time.  If this is all he can do, put him the old Republican governor’s home and let him rot.  If he has anything substantial and positive to offer then fine.  As far as I’m concerned, he is the one that can’t read a tax statement.  I’ve never done US taxes, but I had a look at Obama’s and had no trouble getting the jist of things.  Personally, if Romney had nothing to hide, then showing his returns shouldn’t be an issue and would be advisable given the position he is running for.  Perhaps he has been a little too creative in his filing, or perhaps he had a Perry memory lapse and didn’t file.  And old speechless O’Lielly couldn’t get out more than one word at a time with no coherent thought.  Old reporters home for him — no guest appearances etc.

The Frothmeister — You know it took me a while to figure out why you gave Sanctimonious Santorum that name but I sure do like it and it is so appropriate for that dog! (Apologies to all the 4 legged dogs in this world!)  I don’t know who is worse, Frothmeister or Newty.  They are both vile individuals that are so full of hate.  They are examples of everything that is wrong in this world.  And Rmoney, I haven’t seen him hateful like the others, but maybe he just hides it better.  Certainly as a chopshopist, he’s got the potential.  So 9 days and counting.

Tha Cartoon — You know, these guys must really be ashamed of themselves if they feel the need to cover up completely.  Their version of an abaya!  (No disrespect to Muslim women who wesr the abaya is intended.)  Excellent cartoon.

    • I like your names for the candidates.  I picked Newtered for Newt and Sanatorium for Santorum but it doesn’t fit  with the Google name.  I guess I’ll keep Sanatorium for now, or pick up Frothmeister.

    • If SCROTUS rules that Obama did not have the right to make the appointments, the appointments would be vacated unless SCROTUS specifies otherwise.

I said he had a reputation for integrity.  I would never claim that he actually had any.

      Thank you!

A Republican abaya?!!?  LMAO!  That will find it’s way onto a cartoon!

  2. HICKABEE has proven himself to be almost as despicable as NUT Gingrich. Both of those idiots are legends in their own mind.

  3. 4:38

I don’t think they will challenge the appointments because they don’t have a leg to stand on.

Yes, Lee. It should be the Useless Old FAUX Home for both Bill O and Mike.

They are falling all over themselves to be more self-righteous than the other. The Newtster was pretty cocky yesterday and Romney is stepping up his campaign against him today. I love your nickname of Frothmeister for Sanctimonious Santorum.

    Appropriate cartoon.

  4. Huckabee has a long and well-documented history of being looney.  Just for the record, This Site documents his “Top Twenty” (OK – it starts w/ #11, but in the first sentence in it provides a link for the first Ten.)

  5. 3:45  I use to have a bird of paradise in front of my house.
