Yesterday I slept most of the day, and when I finally surfaced, I felt well enough to do a little research and writing.  Although excessively brief, I’m current with replies.  Today is a high holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.

Jig Zone Puzzles:

Yesterday it took me 4:05 (average 4:57).  To do it, click here.  Today it took me 4:25 (average 5:20).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From You Tube: Hallelujah Corporations.

Hat Tip to Miss Kitty at Care2.

From LA Times: Members of the tea party movement that swept into power in 2010 may be anti-elitist in their rhetoric, but their personal finances tell a different story.

While the median average net worth in the U.S. House of Representatives was $755,000 in 2010, the comparable figure for the House Tea Party Caucus’ 60 members was $1.8 million, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics.

What better evidence could there be that the Teabaggers are top-down astro-turfed?

From Current: Keith’s Worst Persons for 1/5

There you have it: the Republican spectrum from criminal to nuts.

From Reuters: Employment growth accelerated last month and the jobless rate dropped to a near three-year low of 8.5 percent, the strongest evidence yet the economic recovery is gaining steam.

Nonfarm payrolls increased 200,000 in December, the Labor Department said on Friday. It was the biggest rise in three months and beat economists’ expectations for a 150,000 gain.

In spite of European difficulties, triggered in part by the Republican recession here, and in spite of Republican attempts to sabotage our economy at every turn,  measures taken by Democrats are finally beginning to bear some fruit.  Were it not for Republican interference, the recovery would be further along.

  1. Hallelujah Corporations — Kit sent that to me too.  I think it is absolutely wonderful, and although I have never met Handel, and never will, I think he would approve!

Teabaggers — They’re great multi taskers — they know how to talk out of both sides of their mouths!  A Republican by any other name is still a Republican, even if it looks like a washed up teabag.

Keith Olbermann — Perhaps the 3 New Hampshire Republican state legislators are really time travellers joy riding to have fun!  I think they are 3 fries short of a Happy Meal and should be really embarrassed by this.  Hell if I had voted for any of them, I’d be embarrassed!

And why is Ron Paul going after Huntsman?  I would have thought he’d go after Romney or Santorum.  Is Paul afraid that Huntsman is a sleeper agent?

Arpaio, what a worm!  I can see he understands the law really well.  I wonder what Gov Brewer thinks of all this crap!

Employment Growth — Well at least something is going in the right direction.  Now, if only the Republican/Teabaggers could be persuaded to start playing nice in the sandbox, perhaps more could be accomplished.

Cartoon —  Love the cartoon!  Too bad the bull didn’t have it’s head down with a Republican/Teabagger on each horn!

    • I do too.

I disagree.  Theo only talk out out of the side that lies.

Three fries?  Try the box and everything in it!

Huntsman mb be the only one that Racist Ronnie can beat.

The Arizona Death Angel loves him.

      Fat chance!

Never happen.  That is the Wall Street bull.

  2. Lynn’s response is unparalleled I can’t add – thanks Lynn, the current video didn’t come through for me. The puzzles were at first encouraging ( almost average time for me) only to show me my place in the second (I had two pieces buried by the puzzle and couldn’t find them -ugh) so I maintain my “average” which, if scaled – helps others to beat the average! Love the cartoon!

  3. 3:56 & 3:50

I loved the corporation song when Kit posted it too.

    Yes, Ron Paul has Rand.

Sheriff Joe might be spending some time in jail.

The Magna Carta??? They have got to be kidding me!

Even a small sput of jobs growth is better than none.

  4. 4:03  Looks like Patty is the winner today.  Congrats!
