For the last couple of days, I’ve been quite ill with a stomach flu: Republicitis of the gut.  The hast time I was this nauseous was watching toe 2008 Republican debate.  This will be today’s only article, because I have barely slept in two days.  I am not up to date on comments, but I thank you for wishing me well.  It may take a few days to get back up to speed, because I have to go to the denturist tomorrow to get my new lower partial fixed, and Thursday I volunteer at the penitentiary.

Jig Zone Puzzles: Here are three to prevent Critter craziness. 😉

Monday’s took me 4:01 (Average 4:37).  To do it click here.  How did you do?

Yesterday’s took me 4:01 (Average 5:01). To do it click here. How did you do?

Today it took me 3:00 (Average 4:21). To do it click here. How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Time: Ross dashed after Bachmann, repeatedly asking whether she had ever missed a House vote due to a migraine. She ignored him. Ross pursued her into a parking area behind the stage. Her aides grew alarmed. When Ross made a beeline for the white SUV waiting to carry Bachmann away, two Bachmann men pounced on him, grabbing and pushing him multiple times with what looked to me like unusual force. In fact, I have never seen a reporter treated so roughly at a campaign event, especially not a presidential one. Ross was finally able to break away and lob his question at Bachmann one more time, but she continued to ignore him.

Afterward, I asked Ross — a hard-nosed pro who nevertheless seemed slightly shaken — whether he had ever been treated so roughly. “A few times,” he told me. “Mostly by Mafia people.”

I would not be surprised if the new Republican policy will be to have goons attack the press, except for the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, aka Faux Noise.  And speaking of Batsh*t B, here’s a hilarious impersonation.

From MSNBC: Rachel Maddow’s take on the Republican debt  ceiling crisis.

I have to believe that Obama knows that gang of six plan will not pass the House.  There are no details available, just rumors.  Obama hasn’t read it, and said more negotiation will not take place, so it’s way too early for accusations, but we need to keep our leaders informed that anything that decreases benefits for current or future recipients is not acceptable.

From MSNBC: Here’s Ed Schultz with the latest on Fitzwalkerstan.

This was the Democrat considered vulnerable to recall.  May Fitzwalkerstan become Wisconsin again.

  1. I guess under the new Republican creed kicking the shit out of a reorter falls under the ignorance is strength clause eh?

Glad you’re recovering. This heat has been a son of a bitch for a lot of people. The worst part of it in Detroit we have tons of empty usable big buildings but no money to open them up to the elderly, poor and homeless to hang out in air conditioning during the day.

  4. Get to feeling better, Tom. I’ve seen the “Republican theme song” to everyone I know. It certainly made ME feel better…..

  5. And to think that Bachmann called Pres. Obama’s administration a “gangster government”.

I bet Bachmann’s goons’ ham-fisted actions roughing up a reporter is going to give her one HELLUVA migraine.

  6. Glad you’re getting better. This is some funny stuff.

  7. Glad your on the mend- you are missed– nobody nails it quite as well as you do-

  8. 3:27 Today is yours, but I got Monday and Tuesday. That means I am 65 out of 201 (323). Glad you’re feeling better.
