U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot in the head outside a grocery store in Tucson while holding a public event. Giffords was one of the Democrats who voted against Nancy Pelosi for Minority Leader. The shooter is in custody. Several of her staff were also shot. There is no info about the shooter’s identify or motivation. Please pray (or whatever is appropriate for you) for the people injured and their families.

I don’t think a tragedy like this should be politicized, but according to comments at the end of the article, she’s received death threats and was “targeted” (literally?) by Sarah Palin and other wingtards.
According to the article, twelve other people were shot; six of them are dead.
Well Sharon Angle and Sarah Palin got their wish and one of their supporters, another Republican Nazi nut, killed a Democratic Congresswoman with a point blank in the head shot Second Amendment Remedy.
If you remember Sarah Palin targeted Congresswoman Giffords on her website.

And who can forget Sharon Angle talk about taking Harry Reid out with a Second Amendment Remedy if she couldn’t beat him at the ballot box.

My God, this is horrible! NBC News is reporting that federal judge John M. Roll was killed as well.

Anyway I was blown away that someone was able to walk up and shoot AZ Congress woman Gifford in the back of the head point blank.
In 2007 a guy dropped a gun and he was arrested. She voted fro health care. This is frigging sick! She was talking as she went into surgery. Guns at those events is frigging BS! The guys name is Jared Laughner from AZ, She is expected to live, great!

Is this not a smoking gun for open and/or concealed carry? And especially at political Rallies? All those in favor of the rights of unregulated militias to bear arms should get in line to wash innocent blood from their hands. It is time for us, as a nation, to take up the unconstitutionality of standing un-regulated militias.
Did you hear about the suspect in custody, Loughner, and his YouTube video? Loughner’s rhetoric about not heeding federal law and returning to the gold standard sounds remarkably like the rhetoric of the Sovereign Citizens movement. We don’t know yet if he had any involvement in the movement, but given his rhetoric, it wouldn’t surprise me.

TomCat, I know this is where you and I disagree, but with this senseless shooting, it is time for someone to go gunning for Palin, Brewer, Angle, Beck and the rest of the Tea Party 2nd amendment rights people. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. That is the only thing these idiots are going to understand. Nice crocodile tears from Brewer who recently signed a law making it legal to carry unregistered concealed weapons.
This makes me sick. The depravity of the right-wing is sinking lower than ever in the history of our Republic.
I feel like I’m living in Hitler’s Reichian paradise. Watch a History channel thing on Hell last night. Amazed me at how close we’re getting to fulfilling the right-wing’s wish come true.

These wingers (Beck, Palin, Bachmann, Hannity, Limpballs, etc.) all have blood on their hands today. Let’s pray for those who survived and those families and friends who lost a loved one.
